The problem with the bastion set in my opinion is that it doesn't have bits to make a central bunker connected by a series of high tech "space" doors. If that was in there it would be easy as hell to make a true fortress for tabletop.

Happy now? Brace for 3rd impact!

So for that russ sprue, you gotta buy the new russ, then build the hull & turret from that sprue and use that instead of the hull in the new set, just glue the tread sections to the old hull?

seems kinda dumb. why can't they just have the old russ still in a box, and the new one right next to it? Or better yet, why couldn't they have just included the bitz to make the battle cannon on the new sprues?

What exactly is going on with the Russ again?

1) The new Russ turrets do NOT fit the OLD Russ chassis?

That is disappointing, if true.

2) This new Russ sprue for sale is..what exactly?

I for one am glad that the crusader sprue is available. This lets me turn my existing LR kits into Crusaders without having to buy a new hull.

Soon my Spase Mahreinz Army will be rolling in style. HURR.

I have the razorbacks, I just need TL ACs for them from the Crusader sprue. If Maelstorm or somewhere else will sell the sprues that is great and I would buy them, but I have a feeling that they are going to be direct only. If I can get them cheaper somewhere else, I would do it.

I've got a bunch of OLD Russes, so I'm still trying to figure out what I need to do in order to field an Executioner and maybe some of the other new variants.

It is looking like "buy the new box" is the answer?

GW always wants you to buy the new box

since the new turret doesn't fit but you want to use an old russ body you will probably have to order the FW kits, either that or get ready to do some cutting and gluing to make the new turret fit

Either buy the new box and make a complete tank, find a place to buy the seperate turret and do some conversion work to make it fit, get the Executioner turret from FW, or simply make your own.
