Thats a copout. I support US manufacturing and that of allies when at all possible. If there are substitutes to buying from communists I'll take those substitutes thank you. Frankly calling that racism is insulting.

Similarly, the idea that China is somehow against us. Their bringing down our costs most of the reason why we can afford clothes and toys and so on. Same with them not jumping over to the Euro and destabilizing our (really their) US Dollars.

Cost of manufacturing in China is cheaper. He is complaining that that cost should be passed back to us. I don't necessarily agree but I understand the viewpoint. To say that is racist has no basis in reality.

2. I respect a person's right to a political justification for their purchasing. Voting with the wallet is reasonable. Just remember that your Television set and the machine you're reading this on may well make you look the hypocrite.

People purchase forgeworld because of the prestiege. It's "hand-crafted in the UK" and "rare." Mass-produced in China? Suddenly it's not that rare, nor is it as pretiegeous as it's left the UK. GW might as well move their entire production system to China. Due to the exchange rates and lowered costs of living (in some areas at least), as well as the potentially newer facilities and technology being used - it wouldn't surprise me if it would cost less for the same quality in greater quantities of all merchandise under one GW flag or another.

No, because they can throw a *LOT* more skilled labor at the car due to the massive labor cost difference.

The lowered cost (and lower required profit margin) means that the Chinese manufacturer, for the same amount of USD / Euros, has more overall margin that they can put into the product. That margin can translate into hand-finishing for tighter tolerances, better materials, etc. On net, that results in higher overall quality for the same price.
