If this had been a positive marketing experience then there would be more positive comments
Because internet forums are all about positive comments.
Everyone got up early hoping for an announcement and now we're all gnawing at our own intestines in anticipation of being able to run out and throw down 100 bucks on a new game.
I'd say the campaign worked.

So we know it's SH, but we still don't know if it has plastic corridors, right?
Cos if there are no plastic corridors, it's going to be one of the biggest fails from GW in recent times... bigger than the whole mystery box thing.

It might be possible to order it online from GW, but most probably will not be available through independent online accounts.
Many of those get product through distiributors of GW product, rather than direct from GW, and those distributors usually are not sent limited product.

Die Mystery Box wurde auf dem Games Day nicht enthüllt, dafür aber durch die Blume verraten um was es sich handelt.
Games Day Deutschland 2009
Das Cover und das Games Day T-Shirt verrät es. Während die Mitarbeiter mit dem oben abgebildeten Motiv des Terminator Helms herum liefen, war das für Kunden mit einem Tyranidenschädel versehen.
Man darf also für morgen Space Hulk erwarten.
The mystery box was NOT revealed at the GD germany but it was hinted at what its going to be. The cover of the GD shirts basically tells the story. The staff is wearing one with a terminator head (see picture) while the customers get one with a tyranid skull. So for tomorrow, you can expect Space Hulk. The unveiling didnt take place at GD Germany since appearently UK didnt allow it but it will be announced via Newsletter tonight/tomorrow.
Price of the box is suppose to be around 80 Euros, with a limited edition of 5000 pieces. Thats for the german version which will also be available at stores. Each store will carry 15 boxes.
Also, there is suppose to be a trailer shown at 16:00 (which is now about 40 minutes ago). So far no infos on that though.
All infos are from Brückenkopf-Online.com
So what your telling us is that GW is planning on hunting done it's customers like the terminators from space hulk would do to the genestealers?

I probably missed a post, but did anyone catch what sorta time GMT we can expect these emails to come out?
edit - or is it as vague as tonight/tomorrow as that post above suggests. I only ask as usually when stores do some sort of limited deal they have a concreate start time so folks can be ready to order when its available.

Why is it that GW refuse to utilize their own conventions as delivery tools for new products? Isn't this counterproductive and against all known marketing knowledge?

The thing about this whole episode that confuse me. If this is Space Hulk with moulded plastic scenery (not vac-formed) and dedicated models then why is it limited edition, what does that achieve? I do know that it's very difficult to make an informed purchase decision with this mickey mouse marketing campaign.
I'd rather like an updated copy of Space hulk, I wouldn't even mind shelling out £70 for it but I'll be damned if I'm buying a pig in a poke.

GW marketing is based on two key principles.
1. Every year, another generation of Little Johnnies becomes 13 and wants Spase Marienz, and their mothers will pay for them.
2. Veterans are hooked.
