Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Some questions:

1. Are there any more titan weapons foprthcoming, or titan variants. This includes Chaos titans.

2. Does Vraks end with this volume (I dont want to know how it ends, just if it does).

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

More weapons on the way (carapace ones for Mars Reaver)
Eldar big titan and Imp Warlords are planned for 2011 and 2012.

FW is trying to do 1 Really big model a year, so it's a scheduling thing.

except that.. per CSM codex. Terminators with the MoN do not get FNP. Therefore, by definition they can NOT be Plague Marines of the Death Guard.

I'll leave the absurdity of the Death guard not having bikes or heavy weapons for another skewering of the poorly done CSM Codex and the goon that wrote it at a later date.

You need to stop a moment and decide what platform you are arguing from... a gameplay basis or a fluff basis to your statement.

Throughout the history of 40k, Death Guard have been a heavy infantry army, highly valuing the basic infantry advance (well, as basic as space marines can be) supported by tactical dreadnought armor and dreadnoguhts. They traditionally did not use bikes, jump troops, transport vehicles, etc. This doesn't mean they NEVER used them, but the DG attack that included these forces were rare to the extreme.

Think of it this way: The Death Guard are super-enhanced WWI German Stormtroopers (there's a reason their helmets have pointy spikes), trench-fighters extraordinaire, and utilize other assets to support their infantry advances.

so Germany didn't use heavy weapon during WWI? at all? Really?

But they did value tactical dreadought armor. But they have no actual Death Guard Terminators (MoN + FNP). Really? But they didn't value transports. But they have free access to Rhinos.

I'll even concede you the bikes and go from the fluff side. But to say that they're modeled after WWI Germany (which made -spectacular- use of heavy weapons) and valued TDA, while not having actual Death Guard Terminators as an option is foolish, and just shows how poorly the codex was written.

Yes, we know why Terminators and Heavy Weapons don't get FNP, Jervis played the "game balance" card. Which implies that FNP is too powerful and should not be used for anyone.

Can you give us some hints about how the blood slaughterer is? Say compare it to a CSM Dreadnought so you don't have to give us exact numbers .

It's more like a soul grinder than a dreadnought. It has a cool option for an impaler weapon - imagine a barbed spear that it shoots and can pull an enemy towards it (think like lash)

About the same as a vanilla marine back with a HK missile and a stormbolter.
Light and smoke as standard too.

The Redeemer LR is about the same as a vanilla LR with the same upgrades..considering that's an AP3 template ignoring ALL types of saves that is pretty sweet. Has psyk out launchers and a TL psycannon too. Demon death indeedy.

It's really not a legal problem since you're not copying entire rule sets, just very specific parts; you couldn't use what you were posting to bypass purchasing their products. Problem is: will anyone take it seriously because you're an official source? Do you want to spend a good amount of energy on something that many people may not pay attention to?

So, as if it didn't look enough like a Cryx Jack, there's the option to make it into a reaper, as well?

So any hints as to what Rex does? Not specifics of course, just any general ideas? I have the model and absolutely love it, just wondering what he is like on the tabletop.

err...S4 ( "massive physique" ), artificer armour, storm shield ( 3+ one), halves demon WS, penalises their I, force weapon that never needs worse than a 4+ to wound, does d3 vs gargantuan creatures, can take a retinue....got a couple of extra little tricks and bells.

Wha... ok... I stand corrected. It seems the 'broken' space in this IA book was actually taken by Rex.

Woohoo... got mine in and it was one of the signed ones. The slip case got a little crushed in transit. They also messed up my address but thankfully the postman knew what the deal was and got it to me. My billing info is one apartment number and my address is another apartment in the same complex. My billing address is my apartment that got destroyed in the hurricane last year, and the shipping address is the temp apartment. apparently having two addresses so similar was too much for someone at FW.

I play...

Got my copy today and the slipcase is fine. Had a similar address issue. They sent it to my billing address (P.O. Box) and not my shipping address (street). Fortunately, UPS called to get my street address because they don't deliver to P.O.Boxes. Strangely enough, the other part of the order was shipped to the street address. Not sure what happened with the book.

Looking forward to checking this volume out -- unless that gets interrupted by Space Hulk .......

Just got my copy, and I was blown away by the storyline. Great stuff.

In terms of gameplay, specifically chaos:

An'grath and Big Green are unchanged.
Blight Drones are great, I'd play them in a Chaos Daemon army without hesitation. A fast skimmer that has good long range options is just what the doctor ordered.
Blood Slaughterers are...interesting. I can see potential, but I think I'd ultimately break down on the side of the grinder. Rage is just so crippling. Maybe test out a list with a squadron of them just to see what they can do.
Khornate Prince (executioner) is wretched, but his fluff is awesome.
Mammon is amazing, auto-include in my Daemon army. t7, 5 wounds? Rawk!
Nurgle Sorcerer guy is good value for points if you are going all Nurgle, he beats basic Nurgle warptime sorcerer due to having FNP. Good to go next to Typhon for the all FNP army. That said, he pales next to Lash Sorcerer.
Nurgle Guard army is similar to Khorne guard army. I think Khorne guard does better (Zerks better able to make use of dreadclaws), but no flies on Nurguard. Both lists need to be updated to be 5th edition Guard style.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

How is one not supposed to take this as a FW giving the finger to its customers? Are they really so timid, so incredibly scared of stepping on the GW studio's toes that everything they make must be fatally handicapped? It seems to be different parts of GW are locked in mortal combat over who gets to lower the overall standard of their products the most. FW is starting to give C.S. Goto a run for his money in the writing-by-idiots competition

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Can the bloodslaughterer and blight drones be taken in a normal CSM army?

It's nowhere near that price point.

It's two and 1/5ths Basilisks for the Minotaur, alongside of the Earthshakers being twin-linked, and having two structure points rather than just the standardized vehicle.

Story wise I don't think many want spoilers...

This makes me think the books are shipped directly from the printer and/or a fulfillment warehouse as opposed to going through FW's "normal" shipping chain. Not a problem, really, as it makes sense that as FW is a relatively small shop a couple skids of books that show up and need to be shipped out quick is going to suck for them. Might cut into the margins a bit...

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

It's still overcosted, in other words. A twin-linked 7" blast is worse than two 5" blasts, by far.

It's the structure points that make it cost extra, but that's fine by me.

So for more than twice the cost of a Basilisk you get slightly more than one times the firepower?

And structure points are both:

1. Meaningless on something that shouldn't be seen in the first place
-AND-
2. Aren't all that protective in the first place. Taking out 3 structure points isn't the hardest thing in the world. Taking out 2 is easier.
