Judging by DoWII's campy throwback to the linear space marine campaign, you might end up wishing for spikey Blood Ravens as you're forced to play the new DoWII expansion campaign with regular Blood Ravens.

Agreed 100%. I love the way EVERY unit from the codex was represented in DoW, and in a very cool/fluffy way. My only gripe is the way Immortals are anti-vehicle only, and sucked vs. any and all infantry. But I understand the wisdom behind that: It was to keep their numbers down to what they should be, so that Warriors would be used more... Much like Necrons really would do.

I agree that they'll probably go with one lord or sorceror for each of the four powers as the hero units for Chaos. It would mean they get the cult units/Daemons as one of their commander powers (like Marines get terminators) and give chaos the variety it deserves. However, I don;t think Greater daemons will make it in. (Although one can always hope...)

Chaos Lord, Sorcerer and a Berserker most likely.

Sorry, I meant to say 'didn't' get Guard right last time. They did get Necrons right, so I'd rather see them.

Sounds good, I also hope they do a campaign for each race as I really don't like the online for DOW, not a map campaign though, they get boring, maybie tailored campaigns with each missions ending branching off into 2 depending on how you choose to complete it but not in an obvious way?

That sounds crazy labor-intensive on the developer's part. I could see a bunch of short, linear campaigns though, or something similar to Dark Crusade's system, mixed with DoW2's system. Regardless, I'd expect multiple campaigns to be shorter than the DoW2 campaign; maybe 5 hours tops. Either way I'm expecting them to showcase their shiny new Chaos army.

I hope not. I find Daemons really lame, and they were just an annoyance in DoW1.

If they add in legitimate Chaos Legionnaires WITH daemons in this game, I could actually foresee me buying this.

They had those in the last game, and they played pretty similarly. I think its a pretty forgone conclusion that chaos will play somewhat similarly to standard marines. They are just a more eccentric version OF standard marines after all.

I think that what will make or break Chaos in the SP campaign, assuming there is one, is the voice work.

I know it's oft overlooked, but voice work when really overdone is distracting and annoying. Some races, especially chaos, lend themselves to the "Nicholas Cage-ing" if you will, of overdoing it, such as the constant mindless screaming/cringe worthy simpering as in clicking on the cultists in DOW1.

seems these days all chaos players do is whine about everything ie 4th codex DoW2 and not getting post heresy stuff

i would rather see guard and crons or tau then chaos and crons or tau whatever isn't chosen in the first expansion then pile all the other races piled together

As i hope THQ have learned form DOW1 and the mods made with it i hope they learn to make Chaos Marines significantly different to marines to A) make them unique, B) make them work within in the game and Finally C) fit with the official background. the final point was always shaky in the DOW1 games

Oh man, I remember my ears bleeding every time I clicked on a Cultist from DoW1. That was THE WORST and most annoying voicing I have ever heard. Whoever voiced that should have their voicebox removed.

If they did IG, and kept it only IG, not inducted forces, the heroes would have to be able to buff infantry squads with aura commands or something to make up for them being just human.

It's the Blood Ravens emblem- they're the SM chapter used for both the DoW games.

Man, I find Relic and THQ's incredibly hinting tactics to be really really cool! It's stylish and elegant, with just the right hint of subtlety, and it positively oozes 40k-ness. They've just earned serious points in my book. Games Workshop could learn much from them in the marketing department.

As for the news that Chaos is coming in, I'm ridiculously excited. As a hardcore Chaos player, I'm obviously hoping that all the powers make it into the game, whether it's done through an upgrade system in which you select a mark for your troops, or they add another hero to each race, which would allow one for each Power of Chaos. This last one would be infinitely preferable, but I don't think it's nearly as likely as the first.

Of course, then there's always the chance that they will make Chaos ridiculously generic and bland... But I have faith that THQ will get it right this time around.

Edit: Also, Legoburner.... How much for the plastic Terminator Lord? I desire him.

Uhm... This just in. I got a present from THQ as well. Except that it's TWO Terminator Lords, and they both have limited edition parts, including a giant mechanical set of spider legs. And THQ also included a note stating that they love me more than most people.

THQ sent me a puppy in a box which was covered in diamonds. The puppy was flown here on the private jet they are giving me, and the puppy had a note saying that I now owned the company.

They also wanted to say that they hate hate chaos and the next expansion will feature Khemri.
