I took the survey. Good luck to your wife getting this all compiled, it will be an interesting study.

I also found the money question a bit disheartening. Actually calculating how much money I've spent over the past 15 years was quite a shock!

Well constructed survey.

I was a bit thrown by the monetary question as well. Though mostly because I wasn't sure if I should include only non-electronic gaming, or things like computer upgrades, consoles, TVs, etc.

If the survey and the research are about non-electronic gaming, I guess that the question about money was referred to the money we've spent only in non-electronic gaming stuff.

Done. Noticed on her e-mail that she's going to Middle Tennessee; small world since I too spent some time there. I concentrated on their flight program but unfortunately ran out of money and changed my major; great campus though.

It was preceded by a question about electronic gaming, which was the source of my confusion.

Done. Fascinating survey. It's rather weird to actually have to look at my hobby in such an analytical manner.

Nice survey but it did make me think a little too hard about life in general.
Perhaps time to re evaluate!

Not any options for 'serious' boardgames or even chess/backgammon/poker etc which I would definately class as gaming.

Interesting stuff.

I guessed at $1,000 a year spent on gaming over the 25+ years I've been gaming, though I suspect that that is a low estimate. I regret very little of that $25,000, certainly compared to money I've wasted on stuff like clothes, or beer.

No option for polyamory in the "marital status" section? It'd be good to have "current number of girlfriends" box to fill in, just to demonstrate once & for all that gamers do have pretty damn good social lives.

Wow! Thanks for the awesome amount of feedback guys! Over 400 surveys from dakkites!

As you can imagine most of the survey's filled out thus far have been submitted mostly by wargamers.

Do any of you have any suggestions as to where else we could post this survey to get some different perspectives (CCG players, Roleplayers, larpers, etc?)

And thanks again to all those who contributed already.

though the exact number of friends was a bit strange. Easier if we could have had a zone 10-20, 30-40 ect
