Video / computer games (non MMORPG) - lots of them; action games, 90s turnbased strategies, RPGs
MMORPG games - I played World of Warcraft for a while but never got addicted on it

LARP always fascinated me but I never found a good group I would like to play with (Im mostly interested in modern fantasy/horrors)

@chromedog I also like the darker stuff too, but is the selection of stuff you enjoy limited because it's a guy thing? Im assuming so cuz you have actually watched the afore mentioned movies. It seems men as a general audience don't appreciate fluffier disney-esque or romantic shtick

Mostly I don't like a lot of them because I just don't get the BESM thing (Big Eyes Small Mouth) mainly. Never have, not since the Kimba the Apartheid lion* days.
I didn't read a lot of superhero comics as a kid (well, not Marvel/DC - I was more a 2000AD kid) and this had 'harder' more SF violent stories and this may have skewed my attitudes, but I never really liked 'fluffy bunny' stuff either.

I am aware there is 'girl oriented' anime and guy oriented stuff as well. Most of the 'guy oriented' stuff is as unwatchable to me as the girly stuff or daytime soaps. It's generally the juvenile level of humour in the 'guy stuff' that turns me off. 'Guy says stupid stuff, girl belts him with something' sort of thing.
I'm an ex-soldier (amongst other things) and a military hardware nerd.

As to whether it is a general 'guy thing' to not like the 'chick stuff' I can't say. I do know some (straight) guys who will watch it happily, and some girls/women who prefer GiTs/Appleseed.

*Running joke with my friends and I. We were watching "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" or "Macross" when our peers were watching "Battle of the planets" or "Robotech".

@ chromedog Well as far as asthetics go - your allowed your opinion. In fact Kimba is a good point, however the cutsey style is appropriate sometimes.

I grew up with the hardcore stuff, as a child I was watching Ninja Scroll and Vamp Hunter D when Pokemon/Sailor Moon was still popular. And I love it!

(Appleseed is pretty tame by my standards and more of a love story - I still like it though)

My point was that the cheesy chick stuff is still good and all types of anime should be appreciated - that's all I was trying to say is viewers shouldn't limit themselves to one sub genre of animation. That's all - I completely agree with the stuff you like - I'm just saying be open-minded.

Gatchaman? That's before my time dude.

I play a lot of computer games. Very into Oblivion 4 at the moment (old but very good), and in my time I have done a lot of X-com, worms, Master of Orion (1 and 2), C&C (all of them though mostly red alert).

And although I don't any more I still listed collectable card games and MMORPG. The reason is because given the chance/time I would be all over them again (WoW and MtG).

I also do a lot of reading. I'm more into fantasy (David Gemmell...read nearly all his books) than sci-fi when it comes to that department, but on the table it's 40k all the way. However I found Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" series to be very good and I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys reading.

I got myself a huge collection of comics, play my xbox 360 nearly every day, my PS3 less so, have a lvl 80 Paladin and a lvl 30 Hunter on WoW and generally revel in my geekiness.

In another geek-like hobby, I'm a huge wrestling fan too.

Of course this all happens when I'm not working or drinking

I was so tempted to check off model railroading, cause that's what got me into gaming in the first place. To bad we had a house fire when I was 13 and we lost our huge layout (covered most our basement). Some day, I'll get back into it....

Now a days, its d&d every other week, computer games during the week (DDO and DoW2) and coming up with business ideas.

Satellite of Love

These days I'm only indulging in Warhammer, 40K mostly, but over the years since I was a kid I've indulged in many of the things on the survey list including:
- Civil War reenactments. I was in a reenactment group for 3 years in high school.
- Historical simulation boardgames (e.g., Avalon Hill, SPI)
- Magic The Gathering (casual only, mostly with my spouse and a few friends)
- PC Video Games (last one was DoW Dark Crusade)
- Wii console games (still do that one on occasion)
- RPGs. After getting into D&D and Traveller in college, I played and refereed RPGs with the same group of friends for 18 years. As the group was starting to split up as careers and moves finally interfered, I jumped into Warhammer since I was buying the miniatures to use with the RPGs by then anyway.
- Model Railway. When my son was small he loved the wooden railway and I spent hours playing with it with him so I'm going to include this on my list here too.
- Action Figures. Never much or seriously, but I've bought a few here and there for fun over the years.
- Board Games of a non-fantasy or wargame nature. I've always loved board games and still do. Favorites at my house are Scrabble, Sorry, Clue.

I used to play MTG competitively, now I just come up with the ocassional weird deck (shaman-wolves being the last one) with my friends.

I have so many comics that my floor will crumble one day as well xD

And if that doesn't brings all down, I have tongs of leather, wires and steel sheets for my armour making stuff xD

In the meanwhile I play role playing games (say, World of Darkness mainly).

And as an active soldier, I'm not attracted to modern warfare as a hobby, I guess that having them at work spoils my fun with it xD

Roleplaying, absolutely. I have too many books, which means most of the Vampire, Werewolf and all Wraith books from the old World of Darkness (new one sucks!). Also have Dark Heresy and picked up Rogue Trader the other day. Seems to be alot better than Heresy in my book!

I also reenact German Fallschirmjäger WWII (no nazi! O_O) which has recently forced me to ignore the new Skaven since I need some new equipment. Have to settle for the old rats for now |=p

I won't bother.
