Since you continue to deny any and all DE rumors I will continue to bring up the Wood Elf release and how successful it was while completely relaunching the product line.
I'm not trying to prove anything. I am asking for something more than a wishlist or rumor, because the track record for DE rumors shows that a higher level of scrutiny and skepticism is warranted. If someone says that a new Marine book is coming, I'm fairly happy to take that at face value - and given GW's track record with SMs, who wouldn't? But "crying wolf" over Dark Eldar? I won't be fooled again.
I don't recall the Wood Elves being pulled from the shelves like the Dark Eldar, but I suppose I can check when I get a moment. I definitely don't recall the Wood Elves having negative brand equity, nor do I recall anywhere near the same amount of lies, wishlisting and false rumormongering as what we've seen with the Dark Eldar. The only thing that is comparable in terms of false promises of future releases is Squats, and we all know how that turned out.

Model design is cheap and relatively risk free, the next step is the big one. If we see the release happen, I expect it to be after the world economy has gotten back on track for real growth. It's too risky a move in an already down market.

Thanks for backing up my point Jackmojo. As much as I'd love to see DE it's a huge risk at this point in time.
SW's and Nids and Skaven aren't a huge risk in this economy as the army lines exist and most of the minis remained current or just had bits added to the sprues.
DE is going to take a lot larger initial investment of time and resources to launch therefore the risk is far greater. Releasing in the next 6 months would be unwise. Apparently the recession is slowly ending but if GW were smart they'd give it another 12 months. They get accused of not listening to their fans, they might as well ignore them for another 9-12 months.

So they redo ALL the models in a range they don't know will sell very well? That logic is bad, and the rumor sounds like wishful thinking.

I don't think we are questioning how well certain minis will sell, it's more along the lines of will the army as a whole sell well.
Nobody is worried about JG not putting out beautiful DE as nothing he sculpts can be even close to ugly. The models will sell well and be well received by those willing or able to afford to buy DE. The question on GW's mind I'm sure is "when is the right time to launch that will garner the least risk of failure as a whole."
I'm sure those in the know with NDA have seen some of the finished work but like anything else they can't even mention they know what they look like for fear of legal action for violating an NDA.
It's not beyond the realm of impossible that one man sculpts an entire range. He's had years to do it and perhaps that is why it's taking so long.

Personally I'm worried about what Dark Eldar will be when they get redone. Raider spam is already really good, the local guys who play Dark Eldar tend to dominate with them, and the current trend tends to make the transports Cheaper, making me worry that those who do Raider spam, will simply be able to spam even more of them.

Some of the current eldar range (Scorps, wraithlord, falcon?) and the awesome khorne chaos lord in fantasy range.

My god, that Khornate Chaos Lord is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I'm also pleased that I can attribute the excellent Eldar models to a specific artist now, particularly the Wraithlord. I just hope the Codex comes out soon... I plan on the Dark Eldar to be my third army.

That he's right. That's all he wants - to be right. The topic is irrelevant and what side he takes is meaningless - he just has to be right. It's pathological, Ozzy, and has been for some years now.
Why do you think every DE threads turns into him fighting just about anyone who tries to claim the moon landings actually happened? It's almost as clock-work as me in threads about Codex 'Chaos.

For John
New models for sure (sculpted as of 2 months ago):
Wyches
Hellions
Raider/Ravager
Plastic warriors
The beast/dogs with no skin....
The plastic warriors are a serious departure from the current range. I know one board member actually has had 2 of them in his hands (and he's only ever given a verbal description to anyone else, no pics).
The raider is a cross between the pic in the rulebook and the star wars hut speeder.
The wyches are in full PVC/leather and have long ponytails/braids. Didn't see a gag ball...
The hellion 'board' is nothing like the old one.
Beyond that I have heard that the whole range has been redone from scratch. All by Jes Goodwyn.

I'd swear this is the third time I've seen someone say "I heard they're redoing the entire range, so DE must be coming" Well, I've been seeing this posted once in a while since five months ago. I thought there was a rule about no "new" dark eldar info until there's something confirmed.

As much I'd like to see DE get redone, I can't see myself collecting them. However, it would bring back some much needed xenos variety to 40K.

Old news.
There's been talk of finished sculpts for years. GW have scultped lots of pieces that have never made production. I mean how long exactly can they afford to spend time sculting a whole range only to leave it in a drawer for a year without even a preview of greens or anything at a Games Day? What was the turn around on the new Space Wolves and Tyranids? Were many of those finished a whole year ago and left to sit around before being put into production. If it's taking years because it's all being done by one person then it's being treated as a pet project not a serious full blown release. Again I say, I'll believe in a new DE range when I see it myself because right now they seem to be in exactly the same situation the Squats were in many years ago; they hated their fluff, they didn't like the sculpts, there wasn't enough interest in the studio to do much and they're not been updated for years. Their fluff needs serious work, GW don't like the killing and rape stuff, that's why they got rid of the Fimir.

Yes, because I specified that they'd be available en masse. If one can have what is largely a Kroot army, a Vespid army, a Hrud army, or a DCF army, that's a lot more variety compared to warming over an existing army which plays rather similar to a lite Aspect army.
Remember, DE haven't been Squatted, so it's not a new army.
OTOH, if you're advocating for the return of Squats, or the release of Hrud and/or DCFs as a standalone armies, I'd back those as new, different Xenos GEQ armies.

Ironically there's a better case for the release of Squats because we've apparently seen sprues with something very like them on, which is more progess I've seen than for DE.
