Yeah, GW ending the bitz service was a clear indication that they did not need $200-$300 dollars per year from me. Which is too bad, because I love to convert stuff, and plastic does not cover everything I would like to do.

on topic, plastic Killa Kanz should cost as much as a SM bike, what ever that is up to now.

Players who use Chaos Dreadnoughts laugh at your 'finally,' how many years has it been since the regular SM Dread went plastic? It wouldn't take a major retool of the sprues to Chaos-ify that thing and slap it out there as a scenario accompanying release

you know that a Chaos Dread is just a regular Dread with spikes, right?

I think the point of the person complaining about the Chaos Dreadnought was that the current metal kit on sale has been as it is since 1996 and that he would like a multi-part plastic kit in its place. Other than the removal of two of the cool arms that used to come with it a few years ago the Chaos Dreadnought kit is exactly as it has been for 14 years and counting now. If the Orks are finally getting a plastic Dreadnought, Chaos players would also like to see their Dreadnought nicely revised and in plastic.

Additionally, the Chaos Dreadnought is more than just a spike covered Imperial Dreadnought, its rules are fundamentally different thanks to the need for rolling on that special table every turn with the possibility of Fire Frenzy or Blood Rage incorporating a Fleet move. Blood Rage with special Fleet move is always good, Fire Frenzy less so.

Well, yeah. Just like all the other Chaos vehicles. The difference is hat the official Chaos Dread is a 14-year-old metal model that could do with a refresh, even a simple minor one liek throwing in a couple of Chaos accessory sprues in with a SM Dread and charging $5 more for the "all new" Chaos dreadnought.

I've built and owned the 2E Chaos Dread, and I find a spiked Dread better-suited. Easier to convert, and better-looking.

They used to sell Sentinels in squadron boxed sets though.

To be fair, even if the bits service were still running you'd only be able to buy plastic parts as whoile sprues.

But yeah, R.I.P bits service. :(

I want to say a no. Not only with spikes, but also with crap rules.

So GW made FW to release such products...for the customers who care much about the details of the model, but less on prices or rules...

Here you go everybody, the plastic box product codes being released 'alongside' Battle Missions. Please note that this is not necessarily comprehensive (as previously mentioned, pending any stealth metal blisters, and I did say that GW might release the new Predator kit closer to Blood Angels than Battle Missions ):

Code:

<Space Marine plastic box code> £26.00 / US$43.00 / 35,00 € / Oz$72.00
<Orks plastic box code> £27.00 / US$44.50 / 35,00 € / Oz$74.00
<Orks plastic box code> £30.00 / US$49.50 / 39,00 € / Oz$83.00
<Imperial Guard plastic box code> £20.00 / US$35.00 / 30,00 € / Oz$55.00
<Imperial Guard plastic box code> £30.00 / US$49.50 / 39,00 € / Oz$83.00
<Scenery plastic box code> £15.00 / US$24.75 / 19,50 € / Oz$41.00

While not specifically assigned in black and white, these comprise:

Space Marine Venerable Dreadnought
Ork Killer Kans
Ork Deff Dread
Imperial Guard Chimera
Imperial Guard Basilisk

In order that some sense of mystery should still be preserved, no revelation will yet be made concerning the contents of the scenery plastic box*.

Heck yeah, 3 kans in a box, just as theorised!
The price for the dred isn't too bad, supposedly bigger then the spacey dred and only £4 more costy, sounds good to me.

Okay, so, let me throw this out there:

The Basilisk box must be the one for $49.50, which is the same price as the COMBINED box set for the Leman Russ Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner

the current Basilisk price is 41.25, the same as the stand alone Leman Russ. So I'm guessing the new box has more in it than a basilisk. YES!!!!!

IMO it would be safe to assume that the Basilisk box will probably have all the parts to make all of the choice in the Ordanance battery section.

If there are 3 KKs in a box, oh boy...

Keep laughing chaos players. Evidently I'll be building my new plastic kans and dread.

In any event my point was that the ork kan/dread kits sucked not because they looked old, but because they were actually a badly engineered model kit. I am aware that Orks have been getting alot of love lately. It's coming from both GW and FW now. I hope this keeps up. It's good to be an ork player right now.

I am also surprised that they haven't just posted chaos upgrade sprues for regular SM kits for chaos marines like they do for the different SM chapters. You'd figure that would be a great idea from their perspective. They increase the market for their existing model kits, and limit the number of kits they actually have to produce. Also they give chaos players a price hike by making them buy an additional upgrade sprue for everything.

If it really is three Kans in a box my price prediction was spot on, maybe GW should hire me

Well the "Kan" box, if it is a Kan box, is the same price as the 3 Raveners in Oz, so 3 is a good bet.

We don't know that. We know the Basilisk is coming. We think the Chimera is coming. We can infer from the prices that the smaller IG price is the Chimera, and that the larger one is the Basilisk. We can logically deduce that the higher price on the Basilisk is due to it being a modular kit with multiple variants inside it.

But we don't know anything for sure beyond the existence of the Basilisk.

That looks like hot sizzle to me!

The bassie better have multiple options, give me my Manticore, and Colosus, and everything else, damn it!

New Dreads and Kans, sweetness! Hmmm, my next army may have to be a big mek army with tons of kans...

And a plastic venerable dread? Sweet ass. Even though I already have 6 Dreads, always room for one more, right? Haha.

The trouble with the basilisk and putting varient artillery pieces in that kit is the guns are big, really big!
The leman Russ and Hellhound kits had three varients each because all it reqiured from GW was to put 3 different weapons mounts for the turret in each kit, each more or less the same size.
The new frames are massive though so I'm sure there will be at least one more artillery piece for the guard in the box, what it is I have no idea because I'm not up on guard anymore, lol. Griffon, bombard, I can't remember which is which, nor which is bigger!

H.B.M.C. Look like you were right and the Chimera kit won't have any maticore/hydra parts based on that price. Perhaps they're planning another £30 box further down the line with the parts for those two in it.
