Really ? Over here it was reported she took the money but pledged to donate it to "conservative causes".

This is the same speech where Tom.. Tankrdea ( sp ?) or something made a few somewhat... indelicate.. comments yes ?

I don't know ask Abama's wife. I'm sure they shop at the same stories using OPM.

That, while true, is the sad fact for many americans. The fact that this bumbling-fake-smiling-hick-thing is even CONSIDERED competent of competing in real international-level politics annoys a lot of us. But hey, I live in a town where my neighbor said her PREACHER told her NOT TO VOTE FOR OBAMA, because a MUSLIM in the whitehouse is a sign of the end-times.

She went on to say that I just wouldn't understand because I don't believe in the bible like she does. Great debating point to start from, huh?

If maybe we had, say, a 10% democracy earned by knowledge of current events and a test score on basic dumbassery , we might have saner, more level-headed 'leaders' bothering our airwaves with their schlock. I would like her in a debate with that little blond dumbass miss-carolina that was overly babbled about by the press for her ditzery (or wherever state) there might be a fight worth watching.

But NOOOoooo we have old senile people and angry racist hicks and greedy self-absorbed and oblivious wallstreeters watching the bottom line of how much tax there is, and bible thumping people with imaginary friends instead of sane voters... hence Sarah Palin and her wonderful political tool of a slowed daughter are allowed to continue existing. And Still a large chunk of the vote will be decided by which nascar driver endorses a candidate.

She well enough does stand a chance because despite common sense, a lot of the united states still thinks american "cheese" is actually made of cheese, pro-wrestling is a sport, and gets their political decisions assigned to them by their villiage priest, which means the most important worries are about gays not getting married or abortions or (a only couple of years ago) whether creationism should be taught as a science. It sways the masses, and in any population, the MASSES means lots of dumb people and only a few rational ones. I wouldn't be surprised if a Palin swimsuit issue emerges somewhere too, to further her fan base (I'm sure someone has photoshopped one already by now)

When selling a million copies of a book counts as a public mandate from people that cheer at hunting a big buck or making all those damn mexicans learn english, maybe we'll bother to learn if Alaska counts as a state or maybe its just a large moon, like Pluto.

Sarah Palin 2012! Because dumb people like other dumb people, who don't make them feel dumb!

there you go, slogan and all... just got to figure it out how to word it without insulting the morons. Maybe write a couple of ideas on your hand?

Come on...Sarah has that good ol'-fashioned HORSE SENSE! And a lotta gumption too. I like that little missy. She's a pistol.

Seriously though, it says a lot about her that her snowmobile-driving husband is apparently the "brains" behind the scenes. Ah...the first dude. He's soooo dreamy in a scary psycho kind of way. I should ask our local snow plow driver if he wants to be their chief of staff. Maybe the local butcher can be SecDef.

Mark this down right now. If the GOP isn't very, very careful, Sarah Palin will hurt them in 2012 more than she helps them. She's a great figurehead for the "tea party" segment of the party. The trouble is that Sarah and Todd are absolutely stupid and egomanical enough to think she's a legit candidate. She can't win if she gets the nomination, so the GOP won't give it to her. So the big question is if she's willing to swallow pride and settle for another VP slot this time. You're going to have a lot of unhappy tea partiers stay home on election day or turn on the GOP if their chosen one isn't on the ticket.

I completely hear yaa... woo hoo snowplowing teabaggers etc.

but all joking aside (although there are pages upon pages left to adress)...

It is possible she could be the 'Hillary' in the next presidential race, or the 'Nader' in the Bush/Kerry race. None of the sensible repubs take her seriously (and none of the dems sensible or otherwise do either - what does she have left:? the nascar fans and hockey moms and people who give a flying fork about what it takes to be a cheerleader for miss alaska or whatever...)

point being... dont hate sarah palin for being a dumb hockey mom with a world-spanning view that includes 'the creek behind great grammas house' and 'the mountain i take my kids sleddin', and giggle and laugh at all that stuff washington expects of their leaders, hate the people who make it possible that this n!tch made bucks for being dumb, yet vocal, while the rest of us shovel and grind and flip and hammer, or maybe think for a living - yet might just get outvoted if it weren't for the repubs splitting their vote between the hickish and the financialish (hee hee i made a new wordish!) -

point being, if Miss Palin runs, it will breach the divide of the 'I love Jesus and guns and hate abortion and kill gays' republicans and the 'I inherited so i deserve my hummer and don't like taxes' republican. Either way, the dem's shouldn't feel threatened unless the census includes actual numbers of how many people still think the earth is flat. They could work with that statistic too.

It was hilarious how she bashed Obama using the teleprompters....

Less government, cut taxes, get oil. She's turning the Republican party into a cliche of itself.

I do not like her. Several reasons why:

1) in an interview, she was not able to name the supreme court justices... kinda important for a vice pres, huh?

2) it seems that people only like her because she is a she. When asked general questions about her campaign, few people are able to answer specific questions.

3) Is it just me, or is it that people hate Obama enough to like Palin?

The most interesting part of the Palin phenomenon is that she wasn't some last-minute eeney-meeney-miney-moe addition to the 2008 ticket. Certain GOP powerbrokers had put it in the works a year or two earlier. There's articles about it out there, but basically a bunch of GOP poohbahs happened to be in Alaska for something, and she and Todd had them over for dinner to schmooze them...and punch their ticket out of Alaska. Later, the GOP guys couldn't stop talking about how hot she was. Literally. Not how smart...how hot. And those guys then started floating the idea of Palin for VP inside the GOP a full year before the election. Then when GOP doofuses (i.e. Christian right) blocked McCain's (much better) VP choices of Tom Ridge or Liebermann, suddenly the seas parted for Palin and the rest is history.

The Palins are VERY ambitious. They're like the Clintons, just without any real education or experience. Or talent. That's why it'll be interesting to see how they'll react if they get rebuffed by the GOP powers-that-be.

Polar bears live in the north pole, not Alaska. The reason for this being that she already shot all of the polar bears from a helicopter.

Ok Karon, we get it already. Shes slowed, you hate her and tea parties, and apparently she should die because it would achieve nothing to kill her. She has no political power, yet it surprises you that no one has tried to kill her yet. It might be because democrats don't like guns and republicans usually own guns or something along those lines.

But for the sake of everyone, it was a public speech. Everyone uses notes, writes stuff down on their hands, or sets up teleprompters for a speech to a bunch of 6th graders. Its impossible to remember everything you want to say without either the full written speech or a series of keywords to remind you. If she only had these keywords written down and remembered everything she wanted to say, I give her more credit than Barack "prompter" Obama.

The nixon/kennedy debate made famous by being the first televised debate comes to mind.

The dumb hick spoke in streams of one liners punctuated by random applase, but made sure that all the right quirky-lil'-maverick phrases is an obvious PR job from someone... someone ON HER TEAM.. came up with this idea:

here's the deal as far as I can see it...
say lots of babble... punctuated with applause... then leave the media to edit the best parts into soundbytes.

oops. they picked the wrong soundbytes you dumb person. Next time say less stuff people can make fun of.
