This is unnecessarily rude. Criticism of the mini is fine, but there's no reason to be insulting.
Call this a public warning for anyone tempted to follow suit. Remember rule #1: Be polite!
Whatever. That mini offends me - it reinforces ever stereotype of male gamers going. I showed my wife those three pictures and I quote: " WTH, they look like a cartoon done by a 12 year old who has never seen a naked woman." Maybe I should have posted her criticism rather than mine.
It is produced purely to titalate rather than actually be a piece that could be realistically included in a diorama. It would be nice if once, just once, we could have a accurate and feasible sculpt of a woman. One that is realistic proportioned and not gravity distorting or looks like she has visited a plastic surgeon. She can be in any pose or setting, whatever, but lets at least stop hitting the lowest common denominator that leaves us looking like a bunch of 12 year old boys.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games. |

By that same logic , all the catachans with their large bulky muscles should offend you as well because it portrays what manly men should look like.

WTH, they look like a cartoon done by a 12 year old who has never seen a naked woman.
Right, as opposed to Space Marines, who are not at all cartoonish, but very realistic. Assuming you were able to genetically engineer a superman to be 8 feet tall, impossibly muscular, and integrated with a mechanical suit of battle armor.
But we can't do that.
Know what we can do? Breast implants.
But hey, at least you scored "I'm sooooo above that" points with your wife.
And I saw some awesome, rocket ship sorts of tiny green stuff bewbs.
So WE ALL WIN!
all the catachans with their large bulky muscles
And let's be honest, those bewbs look a whole lot more like bewbs than the Catachan models muscles look like muscles. Or that the Catachans really even look like people. They're just sorta like masses of interlocking wash collection channels.

Thankyou ALL so much for the feedback. I have taken ALL of you coments on board and respect your opinions.
I realise this mini may not appeal to everyone, however you must remember that this is the realm of fantasy/sci fi, not reality, so fantasy curves are as justifiable as goblins on spiders, or cybernetic demon things with 8 legs 2.5 heads and 3 different sets of genitalia. The only limit is imagination!! ( i can't wait for you to see the next one! LOL )
By the way, even my wife loves this mini.
I will private message everyone who said they want one.
please keep the feedback coming.
Peace and love , Uri

While I'm not too keen on this model, I'm not quite linguistically gifted to say why, but I do think that something proportioned a little more believably would be nice (note that believable =/= realistic).

They are all perfectly identical, from the same cast. The picture is taken from an angle, so the miniature on the right is closer to the camera, hence it looks larger.

It has take several molds to get to this, the first generation of casts. I have cast around 20 so far, and will cast more to order.

Hardly comparable. The problem mentioned with this figure isn't the unrealistic part so much as the usual objectification of women in fantasy. Even for a fantasy figure she's a big girl, they aren't "fantasy curves". It's beyond fanstay and nearer parody, it just looks daft and reinforces the idea that gamers are some bunch of sniggering socially inept teens. Most of the posts on this thread are making breast related jokes. I like naked women as much as the next guy but this is adolescent nonsense which is a shame because as a technical achievement it is a good sculpt.

Hrm...while, personally, I am not "offended" by either "captive girl" or the Catachan models, I do believe that both are equally dumb looking. I couldn't envision buying either of them for the same reason.

personally I have known women like this and though I may not agree with the whole proportions I think the sculpting is top notch. the only problem is the pricing I converted that into dollars on xe.com and that is pricey for that model not going to lie, but I think it would fit in perfectly and what has to be rememberd is it is just a model not real.
@Terminus: that comment you made against his wife was rather low and tacky. He is entitled to his opinons and to some level I agree with him, but their is a line in the sand my friend.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Its okay, tbh I'd be more interested if I had Dark Eldar, and aye I could use for my Druchii, although thinking on it, she does seem a bit ott on a fantasy sized base.
However even if I was interested I'm pretty sure the price would put me off.
Its GW prices for a home cast, I can pick up very nice Shadowforge figs for the equivilent of £2 a fig.
