I much prefer Asscans...
the biggest drawback to the asscans is the range, but that is mitiagated simply by deploying forward and moving up as you blast away.
Asscans have a better chance at penetrating AV14 than lascannons, that alone is enough to sell them to me. the fact that they are also great at cutting through infantry is just a bonus.

I don't like the mark on the termies- I mean, you've already got a power weapon, so I don't really see the point. Especially without a wolf standard, like GH can take.

If you look at the Weapons on my MotW Terminator you will see he has a Assualt Cannon and a Storm Shield. That give me 4 Rending Attacks at range and 1d6+1 Rending Attacks in Close Combat, and a 2+/3++ Save

With that set up you hardly have any anti-tank and can/should get torrented right off the board.
The bare minimum to get to that point is 1014pts which nets you a total of 6 models.
