Hm... I also want to have Chaos Space Marines and Dark Eldar under way by Christmas Time (Whoopsies, there goes the Surprise!) , or at Christmas Time at the latest, to 750 Points each. Mind you, I could nearly bash out 75% of the Minis with Components that I already have. If I go for it, it won't be officially declared, but more something that will just come together slowly over time. I might even have the Rhinos and Pods Commissioned to be Built - not Painted, just Built - to take them off my hands, and let me concentrate on the Infantry.

Just a quick snap of the Production Line I've got going here under bad lighting. This is, in fact, right in front of my monitor. They're coming together, are the Sternguard.

Decided on the Double-Edged Chainsword, originally belonging to the White Dwarf Subscription Space Marine Veteran. Yes, I did Subscribe, just as White Dwarf made its tragic decline. I now get the same Hobby Fix from Podcasts, without some humour thrown in! Anyway, yer' thoughts, please. I'm off to find the Super Glue. Oh, and have an Intercookie if you recognise the quotation!

I love they way you've posed the model, especially with the servo skull angled slightly down, very menacing

I like the first model there, nice use of a servoskull. It kind of feels like a grot in a deffdread, the little thing with one attack getting a SM command body. The the chainsword is really cool too.

The terrain looks like it's starting out nicely too.

Thanks for the kind words! Slowly but surely, I'm making more progress. I'm now in with a narrow shot of attending Hobby Camp at Warhammer World - I reckon it'd be something special, meeting the likes of Fill Dunn, Alessio Cavatore, and the rest of the Design and Painting Studio Teams. Touring the Miniature Halls would be great, and I reckon I'd do pretty well at the Modelling and Painting side of things, not to mention the Gaming. The kind of people I'd be going along with concerned me at first, but not any more. I've observed through the Galleries that most younger children have a Parent come with them, and that the Groups only consist of 9-12, maximum. Just a little Update among Updates.

I've just been told Alessio doesn't work for Games Workshop any more? Where'd he go?

Looking good Popsicle. If you get the painting right, these pieces will look amazing. Make sure to pay particular attention to the bases, as they will decide just how goo your guys are. I also like the way you have approached the terrain, a far better way than me. Great work, and keep it up

Nice to see the Stern squad started! I started my black templars today and went over the top and made a high marshal, four emperors champions and a five man assault squad from a tac box!

Thanks for all the positive comments, guys! It really is encouraging. I'm having a 'Lord of the Rings' Day; all 3 Films in 1 Day. Great stuff. I'm considering starting a Gondor and Arnor WOTR Army, so I'm picking up some inspiration.

Only a little, nothing to write home about! In fact, I'm probably slacking off the pace somewhat. I should get back on the job, I know. I've been looking into Painting Techniques and Colour Combinations, as well as making preliminary plans for starting both Chaos Space Marines and Dark Eldar by Christmas Time. I've also done some Painting on Lieutenant Varras - I'm not sure if I've mentioned him here - but I'll post him when he's finished. He's nearly there, I suppose! A little Foundation here, a Wash there. There isn't much to do at all now.

That's the one! I'm going to be using him as an Objective Marker. He's not painted to any particular colours. Brown Boots and Pouches, Deep Red Jacket and Sleeves, Bright Red Armour, Blue-Grey Trousers, and Black here and there.

Nice one. It'll be interesting to get a Comparison Shot when mine is finished. I need to pick up Azuremen Blue, to wash the Trousers, which are Codex Grey. I also need Mechrite Red and Badab Black, which will achieve the Deep Red on the Jacket and Sleeves. Then, I think it's more or less finished! Oh, yeah, and the Face.

Well, not on the Sternguard. I'm working on some Deffkoptas which have been sitting in the Cabinet for a while now. I just love the look of the Models, I don't play Orks. Yet. You can expect Updates soon(ish) of one type or another, so stay tuned.

Well, I'm not sure if you could call it an Update, but I've uploaded a Tutorial on how I do Hazard Stripes. Go take a look in the Tutorials Section for it, I'm to lazy to post a Link.

Shot of the Kopta Nob. He's going to have 2 Hazard Striped Rotors, and 2 Red & Black Patched Rotors. The other Koptas will have either 4 Stripes, or 4 Patched, which keeps them all different. However, it should be pretty obvious as to who's the Squadron Leader.

No bother! I'm actually working on a Scout Squad and Combat Squad right now, although for what purpose, I'm not exactly sure. I suppose they'll make up the ranks when I eventually come to work on the Vultures Vermilion, a Home-Brew Chapter of my own invention. I'm leaning towards a Sternguard-esque List, as that way I can use the Veteran Squad I'm working on, and another, maybe two others.

Recently, I've sorted a Painting Area, and a Modelling Area. Both are kept tidy, and you can spot some of my Current Pieces in the Pictures. As for Painting, we have the Deffkotpas, an Imperial Fists Test Miniature, and Lieutenant Varras. None are finished. Modelling-wise, you can see the Squads I mentioned, lined out, the Construction Process just beginning. Legs are on Bases, and everything else is Prepped for Gluing.

I think i can see varras in the background there! Can we get a close up? Also the imperial fist why did you do him if you're doing a home brew chapter?

Simply, I have always had a soft spot for the Imperial Fists, and several times I nearly began them. I came across a Yellow Recipe of Iyanden Darksun and Gryphonne Sepia, and since I had - the night before - picked up both Paints, I thought I'd give it a go. As for Varras, he's all over the place at the moment. The Red you see is Mechrite Red and Devlan Mud, and it will be continued throughout the Jacket and Sleeves. At the minute, it looks terrible, but it's all part of the Long-Term Game Plan! Apologies for the Shot Quality, but it's Pictures-on-Demand, and that's what you get.

You just need to apply it slowly, and make sure to press it into the crevices and 'bumps'. There's no special trick, unfortunately.

Yeah, he's Blood Red, and his Armour is staying that colour. He's nearly finished, actually. Just needs the Jacket, Sleeves, Belt and Face done.
