Yes, Titans are hard. But for the price of that Titan you could take two Honour Guard with JP and EIGHT meltaguns (plus a HQ)!!! Or Hammershield Termies with a Land Raider and Chaplain!! Both of which pose a serious threat to that Stompa, and the rest of his army as well.

Now I may be new to 5th ed but I have played before. All I can say is it no fun to win without challenge, this is where I am glad I play Mercer as he is patient and does help.

We discuss what happened during the game at the end so that I can see where I went wrong, he also posts these batreps, which if you have read them, give a fair and accurate account of what happened and then at the end of each turn he points out the mistakes we both made.

To be quite honest I have grown bored of constantly having to say the same thing over again. He is not my Dad and it's not his job to point out everything to me during the battle. He has his army I have mine it's up to me to learn how to use them not him. I could understand if he played BA but he doesn't.

At the end of the day we play because we enjoy it, if we didn't we wouldn't continue to play each other.

It's not a a apocalypse game; where does it say it's a apocalypse game? You can use whatever models you want as long as your opponent agrees. Didn't you read the second paragraph of the first post?

Nope, but I was looking on games workshop's apoc section for a totally unrelated reason when I stumbled on something saying that you need 3k points per game for apoc, and titans etc are apoc only.

So why didn't you then? The list you took had no realistic chance to stop the Stompa even though you knew he was bringing it ahead of time. The report is appreciated but a total curb stomping is not as enjoyable of a read as a close battle. I'm a big fan of mercers reports so the defensive attitude toward criticism was a bit shocking. Let's see the rematch with some of the units Alaric mentioned that would actually be able to kill a super heavy?

To be honest I thought I would be able to take it out with heavy weapons fire from the devastators. That was my feth up.

I just can't believe the level of hate being dished out just because we had a stompa in the game. I don't think there would have been half the responses had it not been there.

No hate from me, putting up reports is always appreciated and as I said I like mercers for the variety of armies and tactics. You are a good sport Alaric for taking a firm whoopin' and being cheerful about it. The hate must be from people who have received similar whoopins' and not handled it quite as well...

I would however demand a rematch and a chance to pop that Stompa, of course followed up with a report detailing your heroic victory. I'm not too familiar with Apoc, but if you had played it that way there may have been some Strategems at your disposal that would have made it a bit more even.

I'm pretty much on the side of taking it easier on Alaric. EVERY rep posted Alaric has lost, and yeah, hes not taking "competitive" lists, but man... if I lost that often I'd quit playing all together lol. All i'm saying is play something a little more fun. I could see a "close" game being cool, but everytime he loses almost by a landslide... just not entertaining to read anymore!

That's basically it... These one sided battle reports have gone stale for me. It would be nice to see Alaric win one for a change.

What lots of people seem to be missing is that this is a game. Who cares who wins? As long as they stick to the rules, and the other player is happy, anything goes. Plus, at least Justicar Alaric learnt something. Winning doesn't mean you're smarter.

Its very interesting to see nearly two pages of argument over someones friendly game. Honestly if they were fine with a stompa and he was given time to prepare his list then why complain.

I was out of the game for a while. I guess I was little busy dodging bullets coming from your countries armed forces!

If you want to use said stompa, without the world coming to an end, (I knew stompa's were in apocolypse i never new they harbingered them though) Those new rules that they came out with, spearhead, with all the formations lets you take one under the superheavy formation. Then no one could bother you. As for the game, the blood angel list is a little sub par imho. It seems to be 2 different lists meshed together. One jump infantry the other static gunline, I have found this rarely works. Of course it may be an issue of models owned as well but in that points level against orks I would have 3 Land Speeder squadrens with flamer/Melta combo, or 3 Baals. As for stompie the stompa, I don't think the armour is 14, front so it could have been killed, The deployment decided the game, not the stompa. (Although he didn't hurt it seems lol) Losing your dev sqaud into combat that fast must have sucked.

That's exactly my point the entire time.

Also, if people think the report(s) are boring because Justicar keeps losing then stop reading them then. I'm not going to let him win without him earning it, I'll help him, but not let him win.
