This thread has really put me in the mood for some Korean barbecue.
Borkin wrote:Im sure if i did some searching i could find some incidents of muslims burning others religious texts, and vica versa.
And I can find incidents of other people killing hookers, so it's totally alright when I do it.
The big news here, to me, are the generals saying 'don't do it, it'll endanger our troops' and these guys saying 'we're doing it anyway because we're happy to risk soldier's lives for a few minutes of negative attention'.
Support the troops indeed.
johnscott10 wrote:Haha, i made the same mistake as the previous 2 posters.
However i am oblivion to what is "Koran" is.
As I interpreted it as being "International Burn a Quaran Day".
Least i think thats how its meant to be spelled.
You can spell it either way. It's a romanisation of a word that originated in arabic, there's no direct swap for the arabic sound so both k and qu are equally valid approximations.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Noooo! When God-fearing Americans burn Korans, it only increases the volume of Koran sales!
What we should be doing is downloading the Koran as a PDF, then printing that off, and burning it. No money for you, Osama!

Speaking as someone who may at one point have done just that, while the paper is about as thin the chemical treatment is not the same. It was nasty.
