The Librarian and Honour Guard are simply fantastic. I wish they'd do a version of them without the Red Scorp iconography.

Manchu wrote:As for the UltraScorps, no thanks.

UltraScorps? Really? That's your 'constructive' criticism? They paint the Librarian blue (like most Librarians), and you label them 'UltraScorps'?

Athera wrote:yay. More Space Marines. I was afraid that the Space Marine players would start to feel left out if they didn't get something soon.

It would be nice if they did some not Imperial stuff.

Oh Jesus... they did a whole book about Orks, and their next series is about Eldar. This is the first book they've done about Marines. Please get a clue.

I think it was more a poke at how everything FW does is for Red Scorpions, they're like the FW version of Ultramarines. That's just my interpretation though.

I do like the Libby w/ honor guard though. I'm not very knowledgeable about Marine rules so I don't know how good a power-armored Libby is, but still.

Which is fine. Why can't a company have a consistent brand image that helps to unify and give cohesion to the products that they are selling?

I have no real love for the Red Scorps myself - I have a single Red Scorp Marine in my Deathwatch Terminator Squad and that's about as far as the relationship goes - but I'm not about to start ragging on them because FW have chosen to expand their range.

The only thing I wish they'd do is release that entire set sans Red Scorp icons, because they're great models, and I want them in my Ultramarines army!

Yup, I'm getting both of the new sets. The Huron model will make an excellent Marshall in Terminator Armor. Just gotta convert that Heavy Flamer arm to have another lightning claw.

I desperately want that honour guard on the far left. I'm probably going to end up buying the whole set (convert the rest) but that helmet... is exactly what I've been looking for.

Huron's claw looks beast, though I'm not sure what I'd do with the model itself. Could make a good Abaddon conversion.

Not... quite. But nice try!

They're Mk4 Marines, yes, but they're not super-ornate and have awesome helmets and shoulder pads. Imagine the Honour Guard, just remove all instances of the Red Scorp icon.

That's what I want.

And?

You dislike them because they're a Codex chapter? You dislike the models because of the fluff? Criticism is one thing. Constructive criticism is something else altogether.

Manchu wrote:Way to be a parody of yourself, though

Real cute dipgak.

I'm not a parody of myself - I just require a little more than some catchy tall poppy bs typical fething "Marine Hate" for me to consider something to be actual criticism. You want to critique the fluff of the Scorps? Go right ahead. I don't care about them so I won't stop you. But this is a thread about the models, and the best you can manage is childish "UltraScorps", then you might as well just feth right off and not bother posting.

Whats the proper colour scheme for the astral claws? blue? that stripy orange/black? could someone clarify this?

I don't think they've been officially shown in orange and black since they were the Tiger Claws in the original Badab piece.

The only way I see them having that scheme is if FW are going to do something with the camo variants from that same original spread and make that a Claws battlefield specific camo scheme.

Main thing I get from those pics of Huron is the very real possibility of Heresy Era Terms on the way. The front leg pattern, along with the shoulder pads hint at Heresy art....and given they made each mark of SM armor...I'm assuming Terms are on the way.

I don't really dig that Huron model though, don't know why. I guess it just looks like a kit bash to me...or maybe my furious browsing on CMON has managed to deflate my every expectation of anything, ever again, for all time, till the end of my miniature career (permanently).

How'd you get heresy era terminators from that? The badab was nowhere near the heresy

I'm not implying that the Badab Wars were heresy, I'm simply saying I see that style on Huron (The front leg pattern, the tassel shoulder pads, the older style claw). It wouldn't surprise me if they had done heresy Terminators and when they sculpted Huron....gave him hints to that earlier style. It's a guess is all .

I'm fairly sure that FW has already said that they are in fact going to release Pre-Heresy Terminators... eventually!

Of course, that can't be soon enough for me, but now that I know they're coming, I can be patient.

For a little while!

I neither dislike the Chapter nor the models. The only thing I don't like about the models is all the RS regalia. What I don't like, as I explained, is that the Ultramarines get criticized for being the best of the best (but really it's only because GW concentrates on them) but when ForgeWorld concentrates on a Chapter that's supposed to be even better than that no one says a thing. But as usual, you skip considering other people's points for what they are, assume whatever you want, and churn out the abuse.
H.B.M.C. wrote:I'm not a parody of myself
Actually, you've got a point there. You're just being your typical self in exactly the same degree as usual. Right down to calling me gak. Nice.

Too late!

Terrific models although I know those claws will break off shortly after they're glued on since I have no luck with those sort of things... now to come up with the cash for the book.
