Main reason Huron is in terminator armor is because he got sick of being an easy target in his power armor. I imagine if they redo Pedro Kantor he'll put on some terminator armor for the same reason!

The Huron model is awesome, I especially like the Lionhead shoulder pad/ awesome claw of "I steal your torso"

I think the lion's head shoulder pad seems to be a primarch kinda thing...

click on the pic on the GW website, there's a WIP pic that makes him look very epic

Why can't they do something cool. Huron is like abbadon, but even more fail.

If Abbadon can't even take cadia with a united chaos traitor legion group, how are we supposed to take Huron seriously with a few traitor chapters.

I recommend Johnny Walker, chapter master of booze for the booze god, and commander of a whole new chaos group (possibley, slannesh oriented). Huron has been done to death in two codexes.

Huron is not supoosed to conquer the galaxy and destroy the Imperim, like Abbadon.

But that makes no differences when you are fighting Chaos Space Marines on world X.

His right shoulder pad is the only one(that can be seen in these pictures, anyway). Thus, like Culn, he will be added to my Dark Angels.

Glad to see it's not just me who thought of that
Looks like my Successor Chapter is finally getting a Librarian in power armor.

um... if you look at the images, there is only one helmet that the icons would be tricky to remove from - the one with the wee tail and pincers - the others are a single icon that a good scalpel would eliminate in no time. otherwise the Red Scorpion icon only appears on four shoulder pads (five if you count Loth's) and a bit of cloth on one of them - there are a drum total of 0 Red Scorpion icons on the torsos.

Hardly in the same vein as Marneus 'Ultramarine' Calgar's Ultramarine Honour Guard of the Ultramarines.

Don't get me wrong, i don't dislike them for being an Ultramarine squad, i dislike them for being terrible terrible figures. plastering them with Ultramarine icons seems a bit redundant. like polishing a turd or something.

Look more closely. Also, one of the dude's helmet has a stinger-tail on top and pinchers on either side of his face. Come on, man.

Also, is it a coincidence that RS tacs and assaults have face plates modeled off of Striking Scorpions?

It's a coincidence. The design for MkIV armour precedes the modern Scorpion models.

I thought the Mk IV of yore was the Beakie. These "new" Mark IVs (and I'm not just talking about this most recent wave) are not the same that predate Striking Scorpions, right?

Mark 6 was beakie

Mark 4 is the red scorpion one

Ah, thanks.

Why then does a second- or later founding Chapter have so much pre-Heresy armor?

Maybe they got a bulk discount when they were founded.

Why wouldn't they?

There was tons of the stuff mothballed in storage post-Heresy. The Imperium seemingly swapped their production lines to the 'newer' marks as time went on, and just left the older stuff to rot.

You get an instance where you need to equip an entire Chapter quickly but don't have the equipment, just give them the mothballed Heresy era stuff and wabam. It's nice and easy.

Arent Malcadors also like that? they're dust collectors in the imperium

Ehhhhhh. I think Malcadors are more the "knockoff" Baneblades.

They can't build Baneblades like they used to, so they take the basic design and make something totally different but still impressive.
I mean hell, something has to justify them sending an entire Imperial Army to recover Yarrick's Fortress of Arrogance, right?

I could see these guys having some Mk IV suits around. Forge World has them all wearing, except the Honor Guard (who understandably have even older-looking stuff).

Something to consider is that buying Power Armour from a Forge World may be like buying any other equipment, you buy not only what you can afford, but also what works best for what you plan to do with it.

Back when I was a swimmer we'd buy two kinds of suit. The first was the practice suit, and the second was the racing suit. Technologically speaking the racing suit was more advanced and had to be fitted better, and tended to be expensive since they were composed of special materials. Then there were the practice suits, which weren't advanced but tended not to disintegrate so easily upon exposure to the toxic levels of chlorine in Canadian pools. However, as time wore on, often racing suits would be worn together with practice suits (the custom being to wear at least two while training) once they no longer had the integrity to be worn in a race.

My point being that the production marks of Power Armour may be an economic choice: The Red Scorpions may feel that they have the resources to both purchase and maintain the finicky Mk IV armour in preference to more robust but less high-end equipment like the MkVI and MkVII.

Okay, I must not have explained this terribly well.

When you have a shortage of the "new and improved" stuff(which is earmarked for the big daddy Chapters seemingly, not their Successors) in a crisis situation, the newest founding Chapters wouldn't get the best stuff in the bullpen.

They'd get what's left over.
Or at least that's the way it's always seemed. I mean, there's a reason newly founded Chapters don't have Terminator suits or Artificer Armor(with exceptions however. Dark Angel Successors seem to have treasure troves of the stuff, but that's to be expected I guess).

*shrug*
Who knows?
There's no real record of when/how/why the Red Scorpions were founded, other than "approximately 5000 years ago" from the current timeframe.

I'm surprised nobody seems to have really mentioned the poster. I know it's just a poster, but it's of a Dreadnought and I'm a little bit special when it comes to Dreadnoughts. If only I could take them as a hq and troops choice...

Does anybody know how FW package posters? Rolled up in a tube or folded in a packet?
