Really good work, I wish I had a table like this at home, how much will you've able to change the tactics of s game on the board, I mean how easily will you be able to block lines of sight etc?

LOS will be as "true" as possible. I plan to make some spots on the map harder to see than others, but it will be more of an extreme tactical map. If you don't have a plan, you won't want to play this table. Hope that helps?

Looking good! Great weather effects too. I might have to try that at some point. I just ordered a bunch of Pegasus Hobbies kits and I can't wait to make a huge building. Keep up the great work.

I am currently seeking ideas for a roof for the Pegasus cathedral that I am building. I have tried various things, none of which have really stood out. Also, I'm looking for a dome similar to a capital building.... ANY IDEAS???

Looking great so far!

As for the 'capital building', did you mean like this?...

And did you mean ideas of what to build it from?

If so, I also thought a disco ball would be a good start as the flat edges could look like windows?

With the cathedral, maybe a bell tower or some sort of sci-fi futuristic equivalent?

Or maybe use the big lascannon from the fortress of redemption kit?

Good stuff! I just got back from the hobby store with some tin roof sheet styrene and a load of new resin to pour some casts. I'm trying to make a modular roof section that fits the pegasus forms.
I also got a foam sphere for the dome foundation and I'll try and make very thin/flexible casts of Hirst's Gothic bits to dress it up. This is going to be a challenge.

So, the foam idea is not working so well... Does anyone have another idea?

Small plastic bowl? Or perhaps an easy to cut ball (ie for a child or a dog).

Just wander the £-shops (or $-stores? dont know if they exist in the US!), eventually you'll find the perfect part!

Keep up the great work, the Pegasus stuff looks really nice, is it going to be combined with the fortress of redemption?

Wow i just read through your whole thread and i must say im very impressed great looking terrain and that plague reaper is rather impressive.

I like the paint scheme on the buildings it really brings them out.

Messing with mosaics... Seems that the mosaics that I got on clearance at michaels will be really neat as a floor set for my cathedral and capitol buildings. I figured that I'd throw up some pics of the WIP at the moment. Have a look:
Also, I found a clever solution to the dome.. Thank God its Easter! It stood out like a sore thumb and I realized that this would be the dome! Keep in mind that this is obviously a mockup... Pink egg FTW

So, coming along nicely! I have the dome nearing completion and most of the trim pieces applied and ready for a quick coat of paint. I spent hours casting blocks and building more acrylic paint shelves for the store.
So far, I have cast the octagonal tower mold 50 times and am beginning on the round tower molds. I need to get this finished by June 30th in order to make the deadline, so wish me luck! I could definately use it. Phew I'm tired.
The first pic here is how I plan on setting up the dome portion of the capitol building.

Here are a few shots of the patina finish and some of the resin bits. In order to get the resin to conform to the dome, I simply took them out of the molds while they were still soft and began to shape them aound the dome.

Here is the octagonal base that I started gluing down.

Absolutely epic stuff! One of the best terrain threads I've seen on Dakka. It's inspiring to see what can happen when some time and effort is put into something. I have been working on improving the terrain for my table and I'm going to be coming back to this thread.

Completely impressed. Whoever games on your table w/ you is fortunate indeed.

I made a mold of the brick layers after putting them all together. Then I started mass producing resin copies of the entire section.
Put it all together and punch a few iron crosses in for gun windows and I think its looking awesome.
I also started working on the trim pieces up top, but I ran out of corners, so I am in the middle of casting a few of those as well.
This project needs to kick into high gear.
Let me know what you all think!

looking great

Its nice to see more of the hirst arts stuff. With how awesome his stuff is i am really surprised to not see more of it

When using plaster or dental plaster in those molds I mix some black acrylic pain in with my water.
It tints the final blocks grey and its less noticeable if they chip after painting

Seriously impressive work on everything! Loving the variety of sources you build you terrain from, I see some GW stuff, pegasus hobbies and hirst arts molds, they all go together really well!

You have made it inot my top three terrain gurus on dakka (the other two being madmarty and terraformer!) Here, have a trophy

Did anyone give you a dakka nickname yet? I am thinking Bunks should do the trick

Anyway, keep up the great work mate!

Thanks very much for the feedback, all. I had a great time planning and building out the cities of death table. There will be several more completed shots coming soon, depending on how much I can paint this weekend.
