I used to go all the time last year, but with work, college and other obligations that has changed.

However, I do run 5 days a week of varing distances. Last night, I cranked out 5 miles. I'm estimating that I at least get 20 miles in any given week, and I'm currently increasing this ammount as time pases.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

I've lost 18 kilo's in 7 months and am back to where I used to be, feel great, I use the gym probably 5 days a week, free weights to keep muscle tone and eliptical trainer for cardio, 25 km's on the trainer and then just weights at about 10-14 kilo dumbells depending on soreness or enthusiasm and sit ups on the fitball, all in all I work out for about 2 hours in a session. apart from tabletop gaming I used to be waaaay into fitness and working out, but my job got in the way, so now it's back to feeling good, i'm a bit too skinny now for my taste since I lost so much quickly and muscle is taking a while to put on, i'm not scrawny by any means and definately heading on the right track, so soon i'll be upping the weight and seeing how I go?

Around 45 to 75 minutes at the gym every day. I switch between lower body and upper body every day.

I will often take Saturday or Sunday off though and just relax. My school's gym is just a couple minutes' walking distance for me so I will frequent it.

Actually, we don't take cars/busses to school here in Amsterdam. We go on bikes. That's right. Everybody has one. So I actually cycle a total of 4,7km per day.

My exercise routine is based entirely around rowing for my school, so I do quite a lot.

Monday: 4:30 P.M 1.5 hour circuits set (pretty much everything: leg press, core, squats, hyperextension, lateral pull-downs, etc.)

Tuesday: 6:50 A.M 1 hour early morning rowing session at river, mainly cardio and technique based. 1:30P.M 2Km run (took 11:05 today) Then 2 hour rowing session, mainly technique/muscle building work

Wednesday: 4:30 P.M Ergo training, distance/type varies. Last week it was 2X 2000m, can be 5000m, 20minutes, 6x 500m, etc...

Thursday: 6:50 A.M 1 hour early morning rowing session at river, mainly cardio and technique based. 1:30P.M 2 hour rowing session, split in 2 halves, mainly technique/muscle building work, some timed pieces

Friday: 1.5+ Hour weights session, again, based around leg strength, shoulder strength, and core stability.

Saturday: 1:15 P.M 3 hour rowing session, consisting of a warm up, then 2 hours of racing, then a warm down.

Sunday: Occasionally substitute into my Dad's boat at the club he rows at; it usually lasts about 2 hours, not much hard work needed though.

So yeah, spend quite a lot of time doing exercise.

I bike 10 miles a day 4-6 days a week. Takes about 30-45 minutes. Gaming and junk food go hand in hand. besides alot of "geeks" dont feel comfortable in the gymn. To me staying height/weight proportionate is about self respect. Its really important. AF

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Twice a week I go to the gym next door (real cheap membership for living nearby) to jog for 20-30 min and do a couple of clicks on the rowing machine.

Once or twice a week I do a weight-room cycle that doesn't take too long - 12x reps of weighted half lunges, seated lat pullbacks, assisted chins, combined bicep/shoulders with dumbells, triceps on pulldown, followed by a few ground/trunk exercises on the mats (mod crunches and ankle taps, I'm working through a slight back injury atm) before I go through it again - no breaks 'til I'm done. I'll only cycle this 2-3 times now that I know what weights I can do it at.

The chins are what always kills me, and I'm only 150lbs. My legs can go all day but cardio bores the gak out of me.

I still eat crap.

I try to go 3-4 times a week out here. When I'm at home station it's 3 times a week mandatory formation, or at least it used to be. But I still try to get in 3-4 times a week for PT.

mundane repetitive exercise

The people who are bored in the gyms are people who let their mind wander. Most new comers to the gym cant keep form, regulate their breathing and count all at once. One top of that you should keep your mind in your muscles fully flexing during contraction or extension. If you are looking around bored in the gym you really are just wasting your time being there.

Mr. Personal Trainer, I was told that you should let your arms rest for 48 hours after a workout. Is this true or is this bull? I'm going with bull but I'd like some professional advice as it were.

I can answer this. I don't know about the whole 48 hours but you are supposed to let your muscles rest (and heal) after working them out. So if you worked out your arms one day do your legs the next or focus on your abdominal area.

This is essentially because when you work out (correctly) you are straining your muscles and causing little tares in them which is partially why they will be sore. They need time to heal those tares by making more muscle.

Somewhere in space, close to Beetlejuice

Every day (Unless bucketing it down or a REALLY late night) I,

-Cycle 6 miles
-Swim 1000m in about 20mins.

I've been keeping this up for about two weeks now, and it's going well, so think I might keep it up! All in all it takes about 1 hour 10-20 mins to do, but I still have to wake up at about 5.45 every morning....

Too much to do in the evenings to warrant doing it then.

Oh, I also cycle to work and to explorers, which adds another... 10 miles onto the weekly tally.
