YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP!.... I cant hear you over my awesomeness (thats a joke). Seriously, thank you for the kind words!

BigJon wrote:Man it looks fantastic. I've been waiting since I lost out on your first versions years ago and have been keeping a close eye on your progress, its great to see your work become something material. All ready to order one or two just to start.
BigJon

Thanks BigJon, I know you got stuck in the GW mess last time :( Good to see you and a few others still alive and kicking

Jackmojo wrote:
Awesome, some of those other weapons are quite tasty as well. Related comment how ambidextrous are the arms? Can the hand be reversed for lefty/righty?

So this first kit is actually going to be Death's head or Crusader? Might be getting one of these sooner then I thought

Is that just lawsuit avoidance or is there some other underlying logic?

Jack

Some arms like the claws and Vulkan are only left or right, but I will (eventually) have both left and right available.

The Crusader has different weapons, head, feet and an armor add-on... This would just be the Crusaders jousting helm, head. that way you can choose which head you wanted to use.

Nope, not worried about that... their attorneys saw it and said they had no issues with it. (I made sure my attorney had it in writing) It's a matter of wanting to make something that stands on its own merits, not simply by proxy.

The web site is a broken mess.... I will have to ebay the first few until I can get the time to fix everything :( Sorry about that... thats the problem with being a one man band.

ok so what is your ebay name then? I'd like a proper look at the APC's!

p.s. 350 isnt bad if the thing is about the size of a warhound. Although, I was wondering if the vulcan cannon would also fit on the left arm? I really like the powerfist....

A bit smaller than a warhound, about 8.5" to the shoulders and 9.5" total height to the top of the stacks. The Vulkan is right handed due to the ammo feed location. Left handed claw and Vulkan have been printed and ready for molds...

I do a lot of contract work for other game companies; the APC's and a bunch of other items are 15mm scale for Khurasan Miniatures http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi-vehicles.html

I'm pretty sure 15mm is a tad small for a Knight, unless I'm not understanding what a '15mm' version would look like...

It might, but its a fair bit closer. 15mm miniatures are 1/107 scale, as opposed to 28mm being 1/58, so a bit of math gets us about 5inch tall models. Maybe a shade small but certainly closer then the 28mm sized guy is, and in my case as someone with multiple Armorcast titans I want to look appropriate next too its ok. Once we see the smaller ones it will likely be fairly trivial to cheat the height slightly with scenic bases and such.

I see the blog says it will come with both the Mortis and Crusader heads...hmmm. Im thinking maybe picking one up and just converting the scythe arm to something else, maybe grab the vulkan and make it work in place of the scythe.

Sgt.Roadkill wrote:I really wish we had some scale with other 28mm models.

i have several plans for the leviathans shame on the price but nvm...

Size has been posted several times, aprox 9 inches tall...break out the ruler and compare it to whatever you want.

$350 a bad price for something of that size and quality?? Its the same size as Forgeworld titans and they will cost almost $1000 with arms.

15mm versions would make decent Knight sized titans, they would only be 5-6 inches tall.

Agreed to above post. $350 for a titan size mini sounds fine as long as its AWESOME. Which it is. Seriously, I think a bunch of dakkas just wet themselves looking at this model.

Titans are about $1000? Seriously? And people buy them? I guess its ok if you're rich. Don't know why people complain about GW prices then?

Love the titans. Maybe one day Ill buy one if you make something that looks like an Eldar titan (not that yours are anything to do with 40k though, shhhhh!).

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

The warhound is closest in size to the Mortis...its 235 pounds or $371 US for just the body, add to that $55 per arm (35 pounds) for a total of almost $600. A fully set up Reaver, which is a good bit larger than the Mortis, is over $900 US. As you can see the Mortis, and other variants, are full kits for cheaper than the smallest forgeworld body alone. In all fairness the FW titans are very, very nice models, but far out of reach of most people. The Dreamforge stuff is a great deal for the money.

Also, for anyone wanting a size comp, thre is another thread with a pic of the Mortis next to a 33mm mini. If you need a pic of it with a GW product I doubt its gonna happen, so that will have to be good enough.

Your math is a tad off. A full warhound is 305 GBP, for a total of 481 USD right now.

Now if you're talking about with shipping included....then it is 553 USD, but we don't know if the Mortis will ship free either.

Yeah, I was bouncing back and forth between pages, might have looked at the Reaver parts accidentally...either way, I doubt that it will be hundreds of $$ to ship the Mortis, so it will still be more affordable.

FW shipping is free on such a large order, so it's $350 + shipping vs. $481.

If the price was equal, or even if the Mortis was a bit more Id rather have it (well the Crusader & Gabriel variants) than a Warhound. I just like them better. Now I wouldnt mind having a Reaver, but at or above $800 I doubt it will happen.

All the instructions are done... I used the time waiting on the re-print part to hack my way through the web-page. Its not complete but at least its not broken I was able to slightly decrease the load time and make it more user friendly.

I am benching the part today and will be making a new family mold then mold masters. I don't have an exact date yet but I'm burning the midnight oil trying to get it all done.

All the best,
Mark-
