Pretty big. Interesting smooth skull. Hate to see what happens to the scythe arm if the bot trips over!

I've heard some scuttlebutt about a 15mm version. I couldn't see anything on your blog, but is there any truth to that?

I'd second the 15mm inquiry, getting 4 or 5 smaller ones instead of 2 larger ones sounds appealing to me...oh who am I kidding once the other models come out I'll likely get at least one of the big ones no matter what else is in store.

Also for conversions, how compatible would you say your Gatling cannon is likely to be with the old Armorcast weapon mounts (on their reaver and warhound models)? I can get back with a joint measurement once I'm home from work if need be.

Mark,

I've been a fan of DreamForge right from the start, with the earlier Leviathans (haven't got one of those lying around, have you? ), and I've gotta say...you've outdone yourself here! That is a brilliant model, well worth the wait!!!

Jackmojo wrote:Also for conversions how compatible would you say your Gatling cannon is likely to be with the old Armorcast weapon mounts (on their reaver and warhound models)? I can get back with a joint measurement once I'm home from work if need be.

That's exactly what I've been thinking...could really see that Gatling cannon hanging off my AC Reaver...

Mother fether's got a scythe!!! How much is this thing gonna cost? My AdMech army needs a Knight Household.

Is there a 'gun' version, or versions?

It's unspeakably awesome to see it take 'flesh'... particularly since it looks every bit as good as the renders. Job well done. I'd find a place for it in the cabinet in a flash if I could spare the sort of cash required... :(

It's about twice as tall as a Rhino is long.

H.B.M.C. wrote:How much is this thing gonna cost?

$350.

Is there a 'gun' version, or versions?

There's a "Vulkan" that replaces the claw, and there's another four variants apart from the Mortis. Personally, I'm waiting for the Crusader and Gabriel.

The scythe doesn't quite make sense to me, as the arm is too short to use the scythe blade to slice through whole units of terrified infantry (well, that's what I'd want to do with a giant robotic scythe? )

Other than that, I totally love it.

Hmm, a smaller scale version would make an amazing dreadnought? (Note sure how you make your molds - if computer-driven, I presume it actually wouldn't be that difficult to shrink the CAD design then cut a new mold?)

Yep, 15's are planned I just don't have a date yet.

It may not be large enough? Its about 6 3/4" long... bit the width should be fine. I don't have an Armocast kit to compare with.

Clang wrote:Hmm, a smaller scale version would make an amazing dreadnought? (Note sure how you make your molds - if computer-driven, I presume it actually wouldn't be that difficult to shrink the CAD design then cut a new mold?)

Molds are made the old fashion way, the model parts are designed printed the high tech way. Although I do have the model its about two weeks work to deal with all the issues of a smaller scale. Many parts will need to be fixed pose rather than pose-able due to the smaller size, and I will need to join many parts and deal with the undercut issued created by joining components together.

Flachzange wrote:Would I be able to purchase bits separately? I could really use that scythe !!

All weapons will eventually be available as a separate purchase.

All the best,

I really wish we had some scale with other 28mm models.

i have several plans for the leviathans shame on the price but nvm...

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

The Totenköpfe head seems to be a love it or hate it thing, I used it because it fits with the back story of the Eisenkern faction. I will likely include the Crusader head in with the kit so you can choose between the two when you build.

It's about 8.5" to the top of the shoulders and 9.5 to the top of the stacks. I originally intended it to be about 13" tall but the print costs became nutz. The decision to make it to large to be a knight proxy was a conscious one.

That actually sounds perfect, which makes sense since the leviathans are about the same size as the old armorcast warhounds. I'll be grabbing on of them for sure and once I see how it fits more may be in the offing.

NoseGoblin wrote:

Awesome, some of those other weapons are quite tasty as well. Related comment how ambidextrous are the arms? Can the hand be reversed for lefty/righty?

Manchu wrote:Also, that "knight" would be as tall as (or taller than) a warhound.

Indeed, that part of my reason for wanting the 15mm ones, they'd be perfect knights.

So this first kit is actually going to be Death's head or Crusader? Might be getting one of these sooner then I thought

Is that just lawsuit avoidance or is there some other underlying logic?

Also, I would like to point out the utter badassness of the diorama display. I checked out the display maker's site (http://senjistudios.com/?p=1946), and noted that he has done some stuff that is this detailed, plus a lot of gaming-quality stuff. Projects include a field of 9 crashed Thunderbolts (yes, _9_ of them, all crashed); 5 warlord titans (6 actually if you count the awesome Nurgle one) and a really kickin' Tau colony. Definitely check his site if you need terrain inspiration.
