Also just curious but can anyone who is a good painter or who has the codex confirm a paint scheme. It's under metalics 2nd row down directly to the right of the model with the black base. The squares say the base coat was Mithril silver and the highlights where Boltgun Metal. It's kind of obvious that those squares where labeled wrong and should be reversed but I'm justwondering if anyone can confirm that those are actually the colors on the model?

@OP: Another thing you could do is if you can get ahold of or skim through the WHFB Dwarfs or Warriors of Chaos books they have some interesting color schemes that could transfer well to Necrons

So, what are your opinions on 'Crons colours? Do you like any of these suggestions? Do you have something better?

Here's a pic of my old Necron army I believe it's unusual enough

In the store I used to work at we painted the stores crons Dark angels/Jadegreen mix /boltgun don't have pics, I always liked that sheme.
A friend of my painted his crons Darkblue, midnight blue I believe, with brasen brass.

Thanks for your input. I have decided to go with either a Sand/Desert scheme (Bone, browns, tans), or a white and Grey..I shal have to knock some out and see.

Like the moss on the swamp necrons you should do patchs of sand as if they've just risen up. That would be cool.

Does anyone know how that moss effect was achieved -- I like that mucho. I don't even have an army where that will fit, but if I can figure out how it was done, I think it would be a lot of fun to paint one squad that way. Other than nurgle (a bit too obviousoe), what army would look coolest with wet moss dripping off?

10k pts Eldar (no jetbikes -- how is that possible?)

2k pts 3rd edition Wolves (no werewolves or clifford cavalry -- but I do have a nifty Leman Russ Exterminator shaped paperweight)

3k pts chaos marines

To me it looks like it's just static grass mixed with glue. Looks like super glue maybe.. or it could also be a gloss laquer too.

Guard would look good kinda like that too, like all camoed up hiding in the swamps.

I know certain elements of armies, mainly scout/sniper-like elements would probably look really good with this effect used for ghillie suits. SM scouts, IG snipers, Tau pathfinders, anything else I missed.)

lol. Rainbow necrons are rainbow. Seriously, if I came across the table against that I'd just concede, rather than attempt to fight against such awesomeness.

I thought the necron codex itself actually had a few decent suggestions for how to paint them, didn't they?
