As a Tyranid player, I'm more of a fan of Entomology to be honest. But I know neither Tyran (a proper noun created from a total of zero base words) and Tyranid (derived from the planet Tyran, and again a proper noun created in our lifetime) have Latin roots.

Its two made up words, man. Gobblegooklegrampypants is also one. There are no Latin roots anywhere. There are English roots. Because its created in the English language.

'Know' doesn't come into it, because you don't know what influenced the creator of the word. You don't know there were zero base words, you can merely speculate. Given GW's history of name creation, 'Tyran' is highly likely to have come from tyrant: "in classical politics, a tyrant (Greek τύραννος, tyrannos) is one who illegally seizes and controls a governmental power in a polis." The connotation being that the Tyranids invade and take 'control' of a planet; that they are cruel and ruthless; or, they look like weird dinosaurs.

Given tyrant is tie-rant and Tyranid is Tee-ran-id, I think not.
Also you don't know either and I don't like you.

Nope. But I do still believe that Doomthumbs (when rolling for "Gantbirth") should put the dice into the rear of that monstrosity and then use it like a yatzee cup. That would be full of win.

Internet has been very sporadic for me, and at the worst time. This thing got pretty interesting pretty quick, and I would have loved to be here for it. Pic uploads might not happen, for instance. Im pretty sure I attached two harpies to make the plural joke work. Nobody ever got just one Herpe.

But yeah wow. Good to still be here. I've painted 40 genestealers in the interim, and am waiting on an ebay order of Trygon toxin sacs (useless for anything both in game and modeling except...) so that I can start mounting "Triple Ball Trailer Hitches" on these guys.
