Calm yourself. Black Boxes NEVER include all the models in a new range. I got the spider and savage orcs for the last one. They skipped putting in the savage boar boyz.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Blimey, that was lucky. I thought Dakka was gonna have a Failseer moment then. Well held mikhaila

TBH the PA GKs I'm not too bothered about as they are just padding. It's the Dreadknight and the Termies that are going to be the standouts, for me anyway. The codex will be an interesting read, and I look forward to the threads crying about some imber/broken/lolz units that some will inevitably over-react to Great news that our trime of waiting is so nearly over.

You know, no matter how exited I try to be for Grey Knights, GW's complete lack of hype or advertising has really stopped me from caring. I have a Raging Heroes Manticore on the way and I've yet to see anything that would make me want to set money aside for the GKs. And considering that the Inquisition is my favourite faction in 40k, that's kind of a big deal.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new models. If i could afford to start a new army, it woudl probably be Gk. As it is i am savign my pennies for Necrons later in the year.

Te codex will be a very interestign read though.

Actually I feel the opposite about the PAGK. I've seen the last version of the TAGK's, and they were gorgeous (I own 10 for my SM army). I have every confidence that the next batch of them will be just as sharp. My curiousity lies with how they will redo the troops choices in plastic and what those sprues look like (since they may get used as conversion fodder for pre-existing armies). As a modeler, the PAGK are the more intriguing choice.

The Dread Knight, now... since we never got a clear pic, NATURALLY that is big news. Will be glad to see it, and especially the sprues. Unfortunately my LGS won't be opening those boxes for that purpose. He usually just slaps a price sticker on them.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Hilarious, thanks TBD! Yeah, the lack of advertising to this point somehow casts a pall on the release. Huh?. Amazing and I don't think anyone else would find that analogy to be a big deal, except maybe a psychologist.

agreed on the look of the GKT. they were gorgeous models when they came out and the first biggee sized terminators to hit the market (and the first on 40mm bases). as a side note, your GKT will actually be troops according to the rumors with the new codex.

Somewhere in the dark...

Been in to my local GW today (manchester) and they said they will have the preview stuff Friday upcoming 8D

Can't wait, think I'll pop in on my lunch break and have a peek at the new codex. They're also doing a two week long GK versus Daemons event so I'll look forward to getting down there and enjoying games against my preferred enemy XD

It'll probably be my first and only chance to actually play against Daemons but it does beg the question, would it be embarrassing to lose to Daemons with GK?

April 2nd is from what I've been told, the release date.

Blackboxes pretty much always arrive 3-4 weeks prior to the release date. Having it come in April would be pretty out of the ordinary.

Concerning the standard Grey Knights. Of course will they be plastic. But a Black Box is no batallion box with over 100$ of models in it.
The Black Box will come next week.

As many may have guessed, the Dreadknight will fit on an oval base.
And if GW's Dreadknight is as bad as feared, then some small miniature company will certainly be fast to present a large "Knight walker" to fill the need. And I am really loking forward to those alternative models.

So far as everyone knows, the new plastic GKT are going to be exact matches of the metal ones in appearance, and simply recasts (or a more technical approximation thereof) of the old metal ones, right?

So I should probably just get to painting those?, which are already primed black in my basement?

Yeah, that's what GW usually does with 8 year old sculpts: Just scan them for a plastic release

Whether or not the new plastics are just exact replicas of the metals, if I were you (assuming you're planning on a GK army) I would paint up those guys, because they're pretty nice models, have aged well, and don't have too many difficult fiddly bits to break off, etc. In short, one of GW's better metal kits.

All that said, I much prefer plastic to metal. But if you're got the guys, you can get a jump-start on your army while waiting for the new releases.

Looking forward to the PAGK and TAGK's. Simply for a range of new parts to be chopped up and inducted into a certain 1st company of BA's

I am not judging the dread knight until I see a decent picture of it, admittedly the first thing that came to mind was "transformers!" but then the pic is just blurry and probably obscures most of the details.

All in all, next week can't come sooner!

In case you can't detect Kroothawk's sarcasm in response to this, the answer is a resounding no. The leaked super-fuzzy pictures show them having a somewhat different silhouette altogether.

I'd have to agree with you. I undrestand that they want people to make more educated guesses and not jump to conclusions about models or the army itself. I do however fear that it does not help them sell things though. I lost almost all intrest recently, but it is growing again. To get people pumped about what they are going to sell, they need to let official pictures out a bit early, perhaps 2 months at least.

I do understand that kroothawk is pretty well informed on these sorts of subjects (god knows how ) but DK on an oval base? Really?

I dont like that at all :( massive disadvantage and I was under the impression the DK was relatively small (compared to say, a trygon) anyway. If its as small as a Matrix APU it will be just nice, but if its a cartoonishly huge suit that you would expect to see in some kids show where the driver more or less sits in its chest, I will be very disappointed.

So far, judging by the pictures I actually liked the DK, but on an oval base, this makes me cry

The Orcs And Goblins Black Box had a full copy of the Army Book in it. Never has GW put a single sample page of a book in a Black Box. Where do people on this forum come up with this stuff? (that's rhetorical, please don't answer, I don't really want to know as the answer is likely scary, protracted and unnecessarily nerd-angry).
