Most call it Warhammer, but one calls it "that game with the plastic figures", but some don't even know about it.
Most of my friends are wargamers, and most the others have their own weird hobbies, a number play the Pokémon games.

"Gaming" or "dorking out."

SWMBO refers to my models as "turtles."

Originally, while painting Khador 'jacks (might have been Cryx nightwretches) she said it looked like I was painting miniature turtles, and the name has stuck. Doesn't matter if they're 40k, WM, infantry or vehicles, they're all "turtles."

"what are you doing?"
"painting turtles."

My missus says "are you going to the Warlock shop" when its gaming night. She doesn't mind it though. My 7 year old god-daughter is a bit crueler though and says with a gleefull grin "are you going to play with your wee men" or "why are you a geek Uncle Johny" and once when walking past the local GW during a particularly busy academy session "look theres the geek shop full of geeks!!!".

All the little kids inside looked terribly horrified, embarrassed and ashamed!

I blame her mum.........

I've always called it "Toy Soldiers." Most of my friends do too.

My non gamer friends get confused when I do this and some of then insist I call it Warhammer. Though to refer to the game most played we usually say 40k.

Hams or Warhams just sounds bizarre.

as i have orks, "dork-hammer" seemed a catcher. Plastic crack has always been fairly accurate too, but thats more of an in-thing... i think maybe it comes from a podcast or something? seems a bit too original for our lot.

She calls it "B2K Barbiehead"
