Looking at the parts breakdown, the cockatoo crests and spikey hairdos may be optional?

Not really a fan of the big punk mohican on the dwarves (personal taste caveat) so like that it would be possible not to have them if possible.

Yea from day one they said mohawks are optional so you can go all baldy if you want!

Thanks Kenshin, missed that detail.
I would put on the big hair if the lacquered spikes are sufficiently hard to allow an extra attack!

My only simple wish for this set, would've been at least 1 or 2 spare heads!

But Once may comes around I'm getting some of these sucka's that's for sure.

I have 200 of mantic's dwarfs, and I'll be ordering a couple of boxes of these berserkers to go with them.

The scale should be pretty good, what a lot of people aren't aware of is that the mantic dwarfs are freaking massive and chunky, a little bigger than the GW dwarfs.

That said, the AoW berserkers look even bigger in places, so what I *might* do is swap out the weapons for mantic weapons and maybe leave off the hairdos just to tone the models down a little.

On the other hand, it's also highly likely that I'll leave them intact just to make them stand out as demented monsters with ridiculously heavy weapons that they use just so they can show off and brag that they can lift much more than anyone else.

It's also a lot easier to ignore the berserkers being a little bigger, simply because they're supposed to be the bodybuilding beefcake psycho nutters of the dwarf race.. the dwarf equivalent of that 6' 4" heavy-built guy standing in the front of a nightclub that you really DO NOT want to mess with.

Really looking forward to the AoW plastic witch elves.. I think it's cool that they're choosing to target the niche GW metal kits that still don't have plastics and are unlikely to get them anytime soon... and when GW *does* release them, they will be £25.50 for 10 models because that's how GW prices special/rare infantry these days.. so a lot of people will still buy AoW even then.

Did AoW say something about doing plastic witch elves or something? I keep seeing people ask about them, but I don't recall ever seeing an announcement from AoW.

When you do get them, then, pics would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Plastic Dwarf berserkers painted samples:

Here is the first pic of the plastic dwarf berserkers painted samples. This is the first of a several painted samples we’ll be showing, as a showcase of how detailed these plastic miniatures are and of the many possibilities when assembling your berserkers.

You can find more info and pics of the Berserkers here: http://www.avatars-of-war.com/eng/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66&Itemid=63

I don't see any orange there.
This is orange

comparing the aow berserker to gw slayers, aow ones are close to 4 times cheaper than gw ones, and obviously much better, more options, ... and all you can commentt when seeing the picture is that the beard is orange (which is not)...

Whoa...cool your jets there buddy. First of all, the AoW painted berzerker does indeed have an orange beard. It may be shaded/highlighted better than the GW pic you referenced, but it is. Seriously.

Also, my comment was only a tongue in cheek remark to Malfred for his equally tongue in cheek remark to KidKyoto. KidKyoto noted the similarities between the two sculpts in a comedic manner, and mentioned Orange beards, although since they were shown unpainted, Malfred jumped in and jokingly corrected him. I just poked back at Malf a little bit when the picture was shown and the beard was indeed orange. It was supposed to elicit a light chuckle.

Dwarfes... with knees!? Madness!

I actually kind of like the model, despite hating dwarfes as a concept in general. That says a lot about how high quality this bad boy is!

That's one ridiculously buffed up dwarf. The secret ingredient of their beer must be steroids.

Shhh! You aren't supposed to be saying you love me on the forums at all! My wife reads this sometimes!

Just never really liked dwarves, the best efforts of Tolkien to the contrary. Of course, all the fat neckbeard gamers thinking that similar proportions makes them cool and dwarf like probably never helped either.

That, and GW Hard Gay with a mohawk slayers are just... what the hell is that?!

The only short angry thing I love is my wife. Officially.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ok, just saw the mohawks are optional. That REALLY makes it a better model. I wore my hair like that for a while in college, and I can tell ya, it isn't easy without modern agents.

Personally agree about the cockatoo crest and also thankful that the mohawks are optional.

They're good enough that I preordered a box just in case I ever start a dwarf army.

Having amassed a collection of a few hundred dwarves over the years it's astounding that these are the first to actually look awesome (apart from the odd character now and then).

Looking forward to getting at these with a brush. A couple of extra boxes for 'inventory' purposes will come in handy for something someday I'm sure...

25% price increase due to 25% extra flash (and 15% less detail)
but remember, games workshop models aren't as expensive as a $600 camera lens, so it's still a cheap hobby

Same here. Despite the number of unpainted models I seem to be hording at the moment, I can't pass these up. These guys look amazing and will be a great centerpiece for an army.

I hope to see some armored dwarf troops from AoW sometime soon!

I just preordered two boxes and will try to create a BloodBowl team with them.
Given the awesomness of the sculpts, I am considering ordering some more boxes later on...

I hope AoW will continue on the plastic road.
