It is, and much like the poor Aussies get a rep for Fosters (or horse piss to give it it's full latin name), it's unfounded (try Victoria Bitter some time for a good Oz beer).
Yeah, but Americans actually drink Budweiser. In Australia, the actual beer sold as 'Fosters' is never advertised and often unavailable. It's only still around because it was made famous by a certain actor and yeah, it's nothing special. The vast majority of it is exported because people still associate it with the country and think it'll be something special. The Fosters Group is a company that makes a wide range of beers - Victoria Bitter being just one. ' VB' (no one calls it Victoria Bitter either, for that matter - VB or 'Vitamin B' down south) is popularly known as cheap piss over here too, and commonly associated in a politically incorrect fashion with the indigenous population and working classes. It's best served cold - so cold you can't taste it. It's by far the most consumed brand in the country, and is an established part of our drinking culture... Unlike Fosters.

When I was in Oz I liked Crown lager, I was drinking a six pack in the laundrette and a bloke said "you've git good taste for a pom!"
I still think we make the best beer though.  Automatically Appended Next Post: I went to Tesco lads, it was buy 4 for £25
I got 45 cans of Tetleys, 10 cans of old speckled hen, 2 bottles of Tim Taylors Landlord and 2 bottles of Riggwelter for £30!
Now I just need to get the missus something...

I run a liquor store and as a result of serving/seeing problem drinkers all day I very rarely drink now....And have zero tolerence for folk who joke about being a alcoholic you havent seen folk fall so low as they do when they have a real drinking problem =(
Now wheres the "where do you get your recreational drugs" thread so I can contribute
