Good Ideas for the TechDred
Would be interesting to see what people come up with if they convert a drednought to a TechDred.
Its ashame thier dosent seem to be any fluff on Techmarines becoming drednoughts.
I guess its good so people can make thier own fluff about how the Techmarine became a TechDred.

There is some. In the Ultramarines series one of the techmarines gets blown up but survives and is interred in a dreadnought. He carries on his techmarine duties afterwards.

IIRC
basicly a little charred/holy/half melted/eviserated bit of the marine, with brain still intact hooked up to life support.
all equipment/artefacts are returned to the chapter armourys, he doesn't need them

I meant does it say what the Dreadnought is equipped with? Just normal stuff or did it have a dreadnought sized servo harness?

Basically a really heavily armoured dreadnought with lots of tech stuff added.
There is a part where IIRC he is plugged into the planetwide scanning system.

I'm thinking an upsized servo harness. 2 of the heavy lifting arms as shown on the Sentinel above, one of the arms could have a TL gun (Autocannon, Lascannon or Assault cannon) and the fourth could be a cluster of mechandrites or some sort of machine interface tool.

At any rate tech marines aren't used in frontline duties in the GK so it's moot point.
Codex disagrees as Techmarines are an Elites choice.
they even have a power that allows them to reroll the repair dice

My bad.
Interesting they get to be better techmarines than normal techmarines as well...
I wonder if they are psychic too...

Well i'm sure a Master of The Forge that gets severly wounded in battle would be put in a dreadnought. He might not be able to fix anything anymore but other techmarines would benefit from his knowledge later on.
If it ever came to be i think it should be Front Armour 14 atleast, its supposed to have the best armour the chapter can offer. I like the thought of a Dreadnought with a Conversion Beamer

Oh yeah!
Tech-Dreadnought
Wargear:
MagnaGrapple
1 Heavy Lifting arm
1 Heavy Fusion welder (counts as Multi-Melta for shooting)
2 Tech-DCCW
Tech-DCCW = Due to intimate and ancient knowledge of all technology, the Tech-Dread gains +1 on the vehicle damage table in combat. This represents him knowing exactyl where and how to attack the target for maximum results. The Tech-DCCW also allows the Tech-Dread to affect battlefield repairs on vehicles.
May use the magna grapple to pull friendly vehicle towards him (using rules in BA codex....not sure exactly how it works).
May repair any vehicle damage result up to and including Immobilised on a 4+
May repair a Wrecked result on a 5+
Tech-Dread may exchange the above options for
1 DCCW
1 Conversion Beamer
1 Magna Grapple

Indeed, the GK Techmarine has a Nemisis sword and the Reconstruction psychic power which allows him to reroll failed repair rolls.

So if it was a GK Tech_Dread replace the DCCW with a nemesis DCCW and add the above power. Easy.

I would think a normal drednought right arm, a techified front, maby two normal servo-arms coming off the top flat bit, for the DCCW you could have a heavy claw like one half of the sentinel claw, dr Octopus style fine manipulators coming off the top and plasma 'cutter' in place of the storm bolter
