"Brother-Captain Indrick Boreale of the Blood Ravens was student of the famed Brother-Captain Gabriel Angelos and commander of 5 companies in the Kaurava Conflict."

That's 500 marines . Don't know how many have died there...

Kaldor Draigo.

He's basically a friggin' Looney Tunes character in 40k. This is a character that breaks the willing suspension of disbelief in a setting that runs on going Beyond the Impossible.

Uses Daemon Primarch Heart's as a diary (I am only sort of exagerrating), walking into and burning down the Garden of Nurgle, rendering the Inevitable City to rubble with his psyker powers, and just generally being a jerkface.

but at least his rules are awsome to balance the whole thing out.

Space Pope still takes both fluff and rule fail prizes.

True, Space Pope is completely garbage in gameplay.

But I don't really think of that as a "character" failing.

his fluff would be ok as a fluff mention in the codex, but in the army list sections its really just fail.

I'm gonna give the boring and expected answer, basically Necron Warriors who suck in combat, Pariahs who pwn in combat but can't actually survive as they have no invulnerable saves, destroyers who need some form of stronger defence... You get the idea

He's technically dead, but still in the codex. every other character, with the exception of Captain Tycho, in 40k is at least alive or presumed alive.

Ah, you're forgetting Saint Celestine. ^^

No proof she's dead, but generally one doesn't find the corpses of those who are at ground zero of a large atomic pile going up, no matter what sort of invulnerable save they have. She's presumed to be dead though, so much so that the bell on Terra was tolled once to mourn her.

She had decent fluff, though, so she's not the worst character. ^^

I've never used him in a battle, but from what I hear of Aun'Va, he'd be pretty terrible to use in-game. Question is, would he be so terrible that it would be better to remove him from a list which includes him, and sacrifice his points to the dice gods?

It would indeed be better to sacrifice the points Aun Va takes up then take him.

naturally, you don't buy him and buy another Xv8 commander instead.

From what I hear, Aun'Va is negative usefulness, your entire army becoming immediately worse the moment you spend your points on him.

I have never played Tau, so I could be mistaken, but meh.

The worst Character in the 40k universe is Abbadon.

He is the Chaos Space Marine most blessed by the Ruinous Powers of Chaos but has failed 13 times. Like really? 13 Crusades and has barely achieved anything. He's garbage.

No, that's Abaddon. Solomon Abbadon was the leader of the traitors in the Adeptus Mechanicus during the Horus Heresy.

It's not just that abbadon failed he would never conquer the Imperium in one go, It's that he failed so badly never even being able to leave his own turf without the Imperium flicking him on the nose.

i would have say the IG tank HQ Pask. Dude really isnt even a legit model. Like think about the price. You have to buy a 50$ Leman Russ and then buy him for like 11$. So its Roughly 65.00(after tax) bucks to make your 1 tank a little better then the others. Not to mention the points in the game.

I'd say that they need to take out Aun'Va out of the tau codex and put Aun'shi back in.

In fluff, as a character, he's very stale. Not in the sense of people going "I gotta know MOAR about this", but in the sense that his exerpt of a page just feels very shoehorned in. The same sorta goes with the other Tau characters to varying degrees

Space Pope, aka Aun'Va is by far the worst character. He actually makes your army worse and costs a boat load of points for it.

Coolest character: Stumper Muckstart!

Really though, my favorite is Conrad Kurze. Just such a bad ass and a character with actual complexity and depth. Hands down my favorite.
