Well the fire marshall was a day late, but we weren't a dollar short. Epic Loot Games has passed its fire inspection and is now open for business
I already know of several people coming in on Sunday to get in some games of 40k. As always, would be great to see more. I'll post some pictures and more info in another grand opening thread. It's much more impressive in person though, so I encourage you to stop by and check it out.

Played today with Skarousis and it was a blast. Friendly folk working the store and a very sociable clientele. I had a great time.
Sadly I work saturdays and wont be able to attend the tourney.

Thanks for the kind words guys and glad you had a good time. I've gotten several people saying they work Saturdays, so I'll try the next tourney on a Sunday to see if that works out better for everyone.

Despite getting absolutely trounced by the tyranid horde i had a great time.
Staff seems great, setup is unbelievable (the whole LAN situation seems too good to be true).
Great job

Thanks Skarousis. It was great to meet you in person. Hope to see in the store at least a few more times before you head off to Columbus.
Since several people have asked, I wanted to clarify that all GW and the INAT FAQ will be used for the tournament. If you have specific questions not covered in either, email me at toby@epiclootgames.com and I'll get you an answer quickly.

Ooh goodie, another store to game at. Could have used it on the north side of town, but eh whatever. Not much farther than I currently drive to the other stores. I will be totally in if I can get it off work, my brother sounds excited about it too so expect some chaos marines from him and probably Blood Angels from me (could also go Chaos, Guard, or Eldar though if I don't get all the BA models built like I want. Talarn, do you work with me at a particular s**thole in Tipp City? That sounds a lot like my job!

Vierhof (and everyone for that matter):
August 13th is the 'Ard boyz qualifier. It's a free, 2500 point no soft score tournament. Even if you can't make the following round, it a pretty good time and a nice change of pace from the 1500-2000 point RTT formats.
Or as Talarn said, there are always folks around to get a game in with.

BrotherJulian: I feel your pain. I live in Clayton so it's a haul to get down there. It's worth it though (no bias, honest ). Hope you come check it out.
Talarn: Deathwing with the new FAQ can be brutal against quite a few lists now. I'm encouraging people to come in on the 6th of August to try out their 2500 pt. 'Ard Boyz lists. Might see how it fares.

No, I work for the Kettering Health Network (ITDept) and they are in the process of upgrading a very old, out of date hospital in Cincinnati. So far its been a clustercuss. So at this point it's looking very iffy if I will be able to make this 1850 tourney ... I have a spot paid for but I dunno. Also if you and your brother do end up making it you can always stop in Vandalia and we can carpool, i can drive ... if I can go lol

Cool wings BTW. What are those made out of?

Ahh, excellent. Haha, the wings are a 3D model that's available for print on shapeways if you follow the link underneath them, they print with a resiny sort of acrylic plastic. I've got a half-dead blog about them here, and hopefully I can whip up some new designs in the coming month.
Thanks for the interest, hopefully I can make it down soon!

Got all 12 of our fixed tables done, 14 shelves of terrain and a shiny new trophy for the tournament winner. Should have the permanent plaque in the hall soon for the "Epic Champions". It will have nameplates of all the tournament winners for all the tournaments we have moving forward. The winner of this one will have slot 1.
Got about a 12 confirmed and quite a few more who should be coming but we have still have room. Hope to see you Saturday.

Thanks Toby, for running this one! None of the usual Cincy guys decided to show, they must be nervous of the Dayton players rep... The tables looked great, people should be ready for more terrain than they usually see at tournaments. A full 6 square feet of terrain forces more strategic play.

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. |
