Cheesecat wrote:Oblivion's level system was horribly designed imo, and Fallout's was ace.
It's only problem was that skill progression was strictly tied to attribute progression which created a system where building even a decent character statistically meant controlling what you did and didn't do, which seems to defeat the purpose. Had skills not been tied to attributes as they were the system would function much better.

I wouldn't be surprised if you did this in real life, but with a spoon.

I'll probably be sneaky mage. Nothing like creeping up behind an enemy then blasting him to smithereens. Dunno which race yet

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

I've always played a nightshade (mage-thief) in both Oblivion and Morrowind with a strong side of bow and blade. Will probably do the same here. Can't wait for the Dark Brotherhood missions. If they are anything like the DB missions of Oblivion I will be happy.

I have toyed with the idea of making a copper-skinned Nord using combat and magic, with long red hair, and if the character customization allows it, a single eye. I would do this because in a game with a Nordic setting, I can think of no greater insult to Leman Russ than to make Magnus the Red.
On a more serious note, I'll either indeed go combat/magic or pure combat on my first playthrough. Definitely Nord. I tend to main Nords.
If it is possible to punch dragons to death, I will obviously base my character solely around this.
Also, Soladrin, how is the game? Lucky guy you are, having it early and whatnot.

May the the blessings of His Grace the Emperor tumble down upon you like a golden fog. (Only a VERY select few will get this reference. And it's not from 40k. )

Let you get it for 360?
I'm sorry, HAL. I'm afraid I can't do that.
There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

Poke it while it's sleeping?
Drink invisibility potion, sneak, and deliver a power sneak attack with two daggers enchanted with damage/weakness combos and poisoned appropriately.

My personal favorite build was a pure mage high elf born under the apprentice constellation. Insane amount of magicka and you either learned to dodge spells or die instantly. Running like a little girl (screaming preffered) is always a fun tactic. In oblivion I think I had something like 300 magicka at lvl 1.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

It's awesomely awesome.
It's a bit dumbed down but unlike Oblivion, extremely streamlined. Menu's are all great for instance.
Duel wielding is pure undiluted awesome

Female Nord, specializing in two-handed melee weapons. Won't let me play with the new dual-wield system at all, but hacking things apart with a sword as large as my character is totally worth it.
LOL @ Necros, when I'm still playing mods on it on my pc 4 years from now on my sofa I'll think of you poor xbox people.

I already decided to get the game on the 360, for achievements, siting down and chilling on the sofa, (no time or patience to set up one of these new fangled PC/TV setup thingy jobs) and it also means it'll be easier for Aurelia to share the game, and possibly unlock achievements I'd miss due to different class combos etc.
I will also keep an eye on PC mods mind, and if anything comes along that is just too awesome to miss, I'll pick up Skyrim on the PC and start a new game with mods included.
I'm guessing by the time something comes along that interests me that much that I'll want the PC version, it'll probably by a tenner to pick up, so no worries.
