As a pretty good reason, the DE may want to get their mitts on some of the bad-ass gadgets that necrons possess

Actually it might be the other way round given the Eldar have the technology to transfer souls etc and the DE ability to sculpt and mould fleshy bodies.... I could see a Dark Eldar Homonuclus offering to help those Necrons with their desire to transfer to a fleshy body (in the same way as they helped the Tau.............).
Aprt form the artefacts like the Time travel thingy and the Supernova button not sure the Necrons greatly surpass the Eldar in tech anywhere? Especailly now they may have lost their FTL ability (not sure why they did that to be honest)
On the Torture - if there is a way the DE wil find it and enjoy it, it may not work on the lower level Necrons but I think that given the Lords and Overlords have personailities they can be humiliated, taunted etc and likely made to feel some form of simulated pain......... also didn't they torture sentient or semi sentient droids in the proper Star Wars films

Has anyone noticed that the DE webway gates use green energy? I'd say they already got ahold of some Necron tech and went one better...
Well, maybe anyway. The color green isn't copyrighted 65000000 bc Necron inc, but up until recently it was considered to be the Necron colour...

I don't think that the Dark Eldar can *resist* fighting the Necrons. I mean afterall, at the end of the day, both Craftworld Eldar and Dark Eldar are still Eldar. They are a race genetically engineered specifically for the purpose of engaging the Necrons in combat. I'd be inclined to believe that all Eldar have an instinctive (genetically engineered) hatred of the Necrons and a desire to engage them in combat and defeat them... Even if that might not make sense for them in the long run or their current objectives.

In the novel "Fall of Damnos" the rebel Imperials demonstrated the ability to interpose a magnetic array into Necron warriors, preventing them from phasing out or self-repairing - IE, torturing them.
Capturing a Necron would simply be a matter of binding them with the same magnetic restraints and circuitry, and torturing them would be a matter of messing with their circuitry.
For the upper castes of Necrons, flayed ones are gibbering mad, destroyers are insane, and other intelligent Necron lords fear and despise the "curses" that destroy the mind of a Necron and turn them into one of those two. There's torture possible in that train of thought.
I haven't read the new codex yet, but from other fluff, a flayed one is a Necron insane with the desire to be transferred back into a living body; something that they were all promised before being sheathed in metal. They kill and rain blood on themselves to try filling the mewling insanity of not being made of flesh. Torturing a flayed one would probably consist of magnetic restraints, partial disassembly...and making them watch and not partake in torture itself. Flaying someone in front of a flayed one...parading the skin in front of them and out of reach...making a show of the gory entrails would be torture.
Destroyers have lost their minds, destruction consumes them, and they modify their bodies to become better at it. Every thought is bent on destruction. Torture for a Destroyer would be to remove their lethality. To strip them down to the basic core of their being, restrained and molded onto an ineffectual chassis...limp noodles perhaps. A sponge platform. Then to let children with wooden sticks beat on them as they ineffectually sponge them in return, unable to destroy.
There's a lot of potential.

Brighthammer40k wrote:The C'tan, Star Children or Star Gods are among the first beings who came into existance after the birth of the universe. In their original form, they life as a parasitic silvery sheen of energy in the coronas of suns. In this form, they can barely be considered sapient; their mere residence in a sun renders planets orbiting it barren or twisted.
Residing on such a planet, the ancient Necrontyr managed to contact "their" Star God, which after two generations of conversations came to be fond of the "little carbonites" and voluntarily restricted his body to the part of the sun not facing ancient Necron. The Necrontyr (while still not being the healthiest of races) rejoiced and built it a necrodermis body to interact with them. Countless pictures, reliefs, and statues depicting the moment the Daybringer talked face to face to a Necrontyr delegation have survived the eons.
Eventually finding and contacting more of its kind, the two two races struck up an odd friendship and explored the galaxy together, eventually finding a long-term (but radical) solution to the Necrontyr's health problems in advanced technology. These times ended when the coalition met the terrible Great Old Ones, who forced them into a conflict that, through Eldar prose, remains known as the War in Heaven.
After losing the conflict, the Necrontyr were forcibly scattered and the C'tan retreated to lick their wounds. While most began hibernating to recover from their wounds, some took up a long-term vendetta, spreading the pariah gene across the galaxy in order to deny the Great Old Ones more worship/sacrifice fodder for their subservient Warp Horros. Other supported the fledgling Eldar/Ork coalition during the War of Souls only to disappear into obscurity afterwards, possibly affected by the Universal Destroyer's near destruction of the Materium.
In modern times, most of the surviving Star Gods have come out of hibernation and gone back to eating stars, wanting nothing more to do with "carbonites". Not more than maybe two dozen still travel the void in their artificial bodies.
The Truth of the necron history revealed. I have enlightened you all.
HUGS FOR THE HUG GOD.
