heh, near as makes no difference to 20k now (OK I wouldn't want to pay the diff out of pocket, but hey ) so ogres are on!

Mantic better think up fast what will happen when it hits 30k or 40k .

He went to bed with $1.5k remaining on the initial goal, then woke up, went to get a coffee but checked the kickstarter page first then had to forget the coffee and go make a dozen phone calls and answer emails instead.

Edit: This is officially insane - by the time I'd updated the first post to show that there was a new $25k stretch goal it had already been reached, making my post out of date! $5k funded in the space of a few minutes.

This really is quite amazing and insane! Good for Mantic! I'll definitely be upping my pledge soon so I can get in on some of those Ogres.

Holy crap, that was really quick. Good for them I guess! I'd be happy to get in on Kickstarters like this if it was for some good sci-fi minis.

Werewolves and Ogre concepts look interesting. If I were an owner of Mantic models, though, I'd want to see expansion to the current lines before too many other new lines were added (or perhaps at the same time).

Definite props to them for hitting $25K so quickly, though! Doesn't seem like they even know what they want for stretch goals beyond that yet

Any chance we could see the human concept art and add it to the goals?, i anything else i would like the range to get produced ASAP.

Well my initial small order will likely be going to $100, plus $25 for the Werewolves, and whatever shipping ends up being.

Having the option for Goblins would be cool for an army box. And I am hoping for Ogres soon so I can buy a bunch in to sell to my mates. Should be a good money spinner for Mantic.

GW prices increase, Mantic starts cutting more and more into their market. It's a win for me.

Yup, "perverts" like me! Gotta love some people's definition of a "free" market. People are willing to pay money for things that don't hurt anyone so we must shut them down for offending someone's personal feelings. Kickstarter is a meritocracy, if you dislike Mantic or Soda Pop miniatures don't support them and if enough people feel like you they will fail. But no matter what you say or feel, you have no right to want to shut down a company doing its business just based on your own personal perceptions. Kickstarter is nothing more than an advertising/pre-order system. Be it Mantic, Soda Pop or some band trying to make an album; they all have a right to use the service.

You should have seen the original KS page, it was a mess. Scarletsquig's write up in the OP was by far more clear than the official KS page (and yes, we all saw the video). NOW it's finally looking like what it should have started as, only took them hitting 4x the the initial goal they'd set. Now they are finally including new stuff for backers like the worldmap prints and upgrading things like the dice. Good to see they're cleaning up the page and listening to feedback.

Can someone link to the video? Can't find it on the kickstarter page.

BTW at least 38% of current pledges are by just 2 persons, at least 46.8% by just 4 persons.

Which video, Kroot? The only one I'm aware of is the big one at the top of the main tab, next to the facts & figures box.

Not quite sure of the point of your %'s, though - I'm guessing two people really wanted to appear in the game, hence the $5,000 pledges.

*EDIT* - You were referring to the value pledged, weren't you, not the number of pledges?

One piece of feedback I saw posted on a forum that seemed to make sense is that it might be best to offer the free werewolves to people pledging at high amounts, otherwise someone could simply pledge $1, then another $25 to get 2 sets of werewolves.
Might be healthier for the kickstarter overall if the $100+ pledgers get the free werewolves instead, rather than just the $26+ pledgers.
If not for this stretch goal, something to keep in mind for the post-$10k goals that I think we're well on our way to at this point.

No matter how much you may love Mantic, it would be extraordinarily bad form for them to start moving the goalposts in regard to people who have already pledged. If they have said "$1 +25 gets you some werewolves plus a bonus box of werewolves" it would absolutely slaughter their goodwill and credibility if (now that it's going rather well) to say - "actually, you guys, we don't really mean that anymore".

Sure, add stuff, make the dice more special, add more goals, add stretch goals, but you do not screw with people's existing pledges with "so sorry, changed my mind".

In case it seems like I'm angry because you're trying to screw with my "cheap" werewolves, I actually haven't pledged anything yet anyway. I'm waiting to see if they offer something I like or something new at $150 or $200, not to mention waiting to see the ogres. It's the principal and moral of the thing.

Shipping should be free, I'd imagine. Just based on experience with ordering from their website. I'm sure SS will ask for us.
