The humans look normally proportioned. The elves look human. The dwarves look like Jim Henson took a bad trip. The orcs are the only figures that have "Mantic" proportions.

Are you saying these werewolves are what you get when a real werewolf bites an orc??

I think there's an element of this guy about them:

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

The Devourers were so cool.

I miss Confrontation.

The real version, before the PPP put the whole line in the ground.

Confrontation is still the big question mark of the gaming industry - a game that had been growing for years based on excellent rules and sculpts, and the company just threw it away. It's never added up for me.

Still, as long as the sculptors are out there doing their stuff (and others that are clearly inspired by them to a degree).

I guess I didn't scroll down far enough. Still, most Rackham werewolves are better proportioned.

As much as I love what Mantic are doing for the hobby/industry right now,. they are still some way from achieving Rackham's god-like status.

Seriously, what more does CMON need to pick up all of Rackham's old sculpts and run with them?

But I am REALLY glad Mantic is drawing inspiration from them / using sculptors who also worked on that range. It may finally get me to make my first purchase from Mantic in the not-too-distant future (my FLGS actually stocks them ).

Of course! The heartening thing is that they're heading in a way that's more Rackham-esque than "cheapo-not-workshop". Hopefully the Warpath kickstarter will not only make things like the Enforcers/Iron Men full restic instead of the awful hybrid kits they have now, but resculpt and retool the Orks and Forgefathers.

There's definitely potential with that Werewolf, except the right hand on thr ground almost appears to be a left hand put on the right side backwards. It would be nice to see them in better detail.

Reaper makes a werebear, I believe. Have you looked into that? Worst case, Reaper bear head on the werewolf body to make your idea work!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

That Golem looks pretty awesome. I feel like these are some of mantic's best sculpts yet.

I mean, I'm sure it will look better painted, but it looks pretty big and has some cool detail where it looks like the rock/ skin has cracked in places. I'm not saying its the best model anyone has ever sculpted, I just feel Mantic is getting better and better with their sculpts. Not just this one but also some of the others we've seen as of late.

I think it looks great for a lava golem. I'll be buying a box when they are released.

Getting sick of the top heavy sculpts :( Especially when it's a unnaturally constructed creature formed from stone -one time you'd surely want it to have stability! Also loincloth looks a bit like a nappy.

Not a fan of the golem, the troll, ogre and werewolf models are much better sculpts. The troll in particular stands out for me.

The legs look odd, bolted on from the sides like that. Dreadnoughts can kinda get away with it, but not such a good look here...

Love the Ogres, Trolls and Werewolves.

Not so much the Golems.

Sadly, those are the 4 BoGo offers I went for - but maybe they'll look better once we see 'finished' photos.

Yeah, that picture looks like crap. Why does the amateur photo from the open day show more detail than the "official" photo? bleh

looks like at least 2 different bodies, 2 different legs, 4 different heads...

I have to say I quite like the look of that third head option on the upper left. I hope the Ogre weapons are about the right scale to be easily converted onto the golem fists, as I want to give them some weapons instead of just a giant unit of boxing golems.

Imagine the feeling when you position your tanks, engines idling, landing gear deployed for a low profile, with firing solutions along a key bottleneck. Then some fether lands a dreadnought behind them in a giant heat shielded coke can.

Look, buster, I don't think you appreciate how this works. Mantic's proportions are realistic. That's what they are known for: realistic proportions and affordable low prices. That's what separates them from GW and PP, and their goofy sculpts. Do you want Mantic to stop being what they are? Do you ask the majestic butterfly to transform into a lowly caterpillar?

Mantic knows like no one else that realistic proportions are the only way you can capture the excitement and dynamism of block after block of marching frenchmen. Are you saying you don't want your fantasy dragon-wizard pew-pew games to be realistic?

Also loincloth looks a bit like a nappy.

Can't unsee. Model ruined.

I really, really do hope these "big" models get more than 2 or 3 feasible poses each, though; I'm getting 9 of each just from pledge rewards and this would mean I'd pretty much have to cut up over half of them just keep the variety there; just having separate, pose-able arms would give enough variety for 9-12 of each on the table without looking awkward or repetitive...

Good point, Bolognesus. That's why you guys get to be the guinea pigs here and let the rest of us know if you can pose them in more than a few ways or not (in return for getting a fantastic deal and paying upfront)

I have to say the amateur photo of the golem makes it look way better!

Mighty Chosen Warrior of Chaos

I LOVE the troll, like the werewolf and am meh about the golem.

Waist up the model is okay... but the nappy and tiny little legs are just weird. The legs should be huge and chunky, to stabilise that walking statue, and attached normally, not bolted on the sides. and WHY does he have a loincloth? he is a fricking lava golem, not a person, why on earth would the chaos dwarves sculpt junk on it for, especially when they cover it up anyway???

and.... i cannot see any eyes, but these two upward pointing arrows above his mouth make him look like he is grinning like a cheerful madman with his eyes closed, like some meme-face from facebook

like this ^.^
