using IE is like taking a masters course in Sanskrit, useless

You don't actually work do you. You know that, when at work, you use the system they have right? Right?

Now, again, from using both I can't say I see much of a difference. PLus they are both megalithic faceless evildoer corporations, so there's no benefit there.
Meh. The .308/5.56 debate is much more fun. TIme to stir the pot over there.

5.56, it is the ammo of choice for the super friends.

Also, I use Chrome and Opera. And I had dial up all through elementary school.

You'd be surprised just how many companies still use IE6 - I have been into major banks and insurance companies here in the UK doing consultancy work and seen it first hand.

Despite being a very trendy football to kick about, IE9 isn't actually that bad - the speed and memory management is getting better and MS are gradually plugging the larger security flaws that exist.

Anyone use the original AOL browser...?

I've never used chrome cause it never works when I install it.

Used to use IE until I discovered the majesty that is Firefox.

I was interested in the answer to this question, so I started up both at once. Firefox loaded up quicker initially, but when it got going chrome was significantly faster.

I admit to liking Opera better, but of the two, I think Chrome is better tahn Firefox.

This is just based on my enjoyment of hte usage rather than on any real facts.

AduroT wrote:Alright, quick Chrome question then. How do I get that stupid bar on the bottom to go away by itself or simply never show up when I download something or save a picture? It annoys me...

Also, can I set which page a new tab defaults to when opened?

I used to know the answer to both these questions until they changed some stuff around. Personally I like the download toolbar as it lets you access the file you just took and move it to a folder that you might actually find again. My tabs used to open straight to google just as I liked but when I downloaded it onto my laptop it would not work.

If anyone knows the answer to these, I would like to know as well!

Chrome as a prefrence. FF at work until I have been there long enough to risk downloading chrome.

Its always useful to have IE installed. IE 9 is not bad, but more importantly some sites and programs won't work properly on anything but IE. Its all well and good using the geek argument of "don't use those sites then" but when it is stuff you need for work you don't have much choice.
