Absolutely beautiful work. I love the 'cracked' paint texture you've given the armour, that must have been incredibly painstaking work. I'd love to see this one in person. Do you have more pics from different angles?

Sometimes being 2nd is better. Some may say you're the first to lose, I say you're the first to learn. Whatever you learned from this experience, it surely is more than what 1st place took away from it.

The cracking took around 50 hours, which I wasn't originally planning on.

I have particularly crazy schemes for other dioramas, but they'll rely on a crazy client to get funded, lol. Or Forgeworld asking me to do something mental and providing the kits (and a substantial fee). Some ideas I have require around £2k just in kits and materials And no, they don't involve Mantas. ;-p

Next up will be the remainder of the Blood Angels army (same client), then some Black Templars. I have a lot of backlog to clear, which means doing extra nice work to keep the clients super happy. There's a reason I never promise on deadlines, things quite often take longer than I envisage to get to a place that I'm happy with. I don't send out stuff I'm not proud of for what it is (be it army or display).

Wow, aside from literally everything about this I particularly like the way you've done the metallics. Stunning piece of work, really deserves a nice wooden base to sit upon. I would hate to see the ground work begin to fall apart.

It's built onto a wooden base, faced with plasticard - pretty solid. Need to find some of those little rubber feet for it though.

Oh, good thinking! I bet it weighs alot! Must be a b!tc4 to transport. Again, really digging it. It's almost a shame the actual 40K game exists, I think it deters so many people from developing the skills (or maybe just putting the time in to individual pieces) to bring some of these really cool models to life diorama-wise. Always a joy to see something like this!!

Total weight is around 3.5 kilos. I have to figure out how to post the damn thing to Singapore, too. Ideally so y'know, it arrives pretty much intact. I suspect a large box and a LOT of space filler will be involved.

At the moment though I'm not 'working' for a few weeks as I recover from the GD push, which was a bit mental.
