Back in third edition I played a couple games with my imperial guard, one was the most memorable, against a tyranid player. The opponent had been rule lawyering everyone at the shop and people would show up to his games just to root for the other players.

First turn I placed my orbital bombardment on his hive tyrant, which he said wasn't allowed because other monstrous creatures were closer, so I had to move it onto a carnifex. I missed and the shot scattered directly onto the hive tyrant, who failed three different saves and died(there was much rejoicing by all). He then tried to back out of m having to shoot at the carnifex and said I could target his tyrant but was met by all the bystanders with disapproval.

Same game a couple turns later his hormagaunts charged my infantry, and were short. The infantry all had grenades back when they were useful and them guards obliterated the swarm.

Needless to say he did not win the game, and if I believed in karma this would have been proof to me.

Also same game I really cheesed him off by how I treated my figs. He was a much better painter than I was and took great care with his models. Me I was still trying out guard and didn't like it, so they were transported in a cardboard box in a pile. As I took casualties I would give a quick memorial speech to each group of casualties, something like " you have failed the emperor, back in the box", and toss the about four feet over to the cardboard grave on the floor. They were metal and survived, but he was set off by it .

That guy sounds like an annoying little twirp.

Against me:

A Blood Angels Dreadnought drop poded next to my bastion and used its frag cannons on it - it blew up and collapsed

I lost: Bastion, Entire squad of wracks with Hormunclus, Farseer and Pathfinders

that was his first shot in the game!

In another game a Battlecannon shot scattered onto vect - failed my Shadowfield and he was instantly killed

5th ed - Apoc: Broadside hits an building meant to be held as an objective which then goes nukeylar and wipes out an Ork looted wagon squadron and several other forgotten baddies. All that was left was three or so burna boyz
Apoc: PF wielding Gav Thorpe Termis wipe out Draigo's Paladin retinue (Nevertheless they get wiped by Draigo the subsequent turn)
Average: squad of five or six Carbine fire warriors kill 2 TH/SS Termis (one in shooting, one in combat)
Average: Shas'El beats witchblade Farseer and council in combat
Average: Twin-missile TA Farsight bomb literally wipes out half a 1750 IG list (tied game)

6th ed - So far it's been seven-man squad of fire warriors downing a flying Daemon Prince

5th: DE player is telling me about all this cool stuff his Archon (DE codex before the current one) has, including Shadowfield, Combat Drugs etc. My Daemon Prince walks up to him and about 2-3 turns into the game, the Archon is a Spawn.

5th: My Daemon Prince turns a Tau Commander into a spawn during a 750pt game; Spawn charges the Hammerhead behind it, blows it up, and all that are left are two bloated FW units. I only suffered one casualty that game: the spawn, which technically wasn't even mine to start with.

5th: Lictor (prevous Tyranid codex) charges 6 Fire Warriors on the top floor of a ruin. He kills one and takes a wound, kills another and loses his final wound. I imagine one of the FW's rammed his pusle rifle into his Feeder Tendrils and roundhouse kicked him off the ruin.

5th: 6 Harlies charge 10 Fire Warriors, they kill 1 and proceed to get beaten down by the remaining 9 in one round of combat.

5th: 10 Scouts with a PW Sergeant charge a lone Broadside and deal it a wound, the Broadside clubs two scouts over the head with its SMS and chases the rest off the board.

5th: Bargelord charges Vulkan and 5 Hammernators, kills 3 Hammernators and escorts Vulkan and the other 2 off the board.

5th: Triarch Stalker gibbed Vulkan with its Heat Ray in one game, and took off Feugan's last wound with it in another. The masters of melta both melta'd.

6th: Lancetek gibbed a Grandmaster who failed his LO,S!, giving me Slay the Warlord.

6th: Annihilation Barge rolled a total of 4 sixes on 6 dice when shooting at 8 TSons and Ahriman. Only 1 Son and Ahriman survived that attack. A Lancetek then proceeded to blast Ahriman in the face since he was out of LO,S! range.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Probably work

Best kill? Easy.

Apoc game, IG versus Eldar.

Most of my army had been picked apart by a Revenant Titan. My entire CCS squad had been wiped out from a Chimera explosion and then a drifting blast marker from a pulsar EXCEPT the Company Commander (and his plasma pistol)...

He then proceeded to give not a single feth, pass his leadership test, make just enough difficult terrain to get within range of the titan, hit it, penetrate it, bypass holofields, and then chain react the damned thing into an apocalyptic explosion, nobly wiping himself out and earning every last one of those medals modeled on his chest.

That was the second apocalyptic explosion of the night. I don't think either of us actually had anything left on the board by the end of the game.

Never will I roll so well again.

Only been playing a few months, so my stories are pretty recent.

In my very first non-training game, I got picked apart by DE. One of their open-topped transports full of troops kept coming just within range of my army and firing everything they had. By turn 3, all I had left on that side of the table was a lone Overlord. The DE player, no longer worried about getting auto-glanced by gauss weapons, got a little too close to my Overlord. I assaulted, and ripped open the transport with a Warscythe. The resulting explosion killed all but 2 of his troops, which the Overlord quickly disposed of on the next turn. That's where the Necron warscythe got the nickname "can opener" in my LGS.

Last month, the same Overlord went toe-to-toe with an Ork Warboss. MSS did their thing, the Ork player rolled well to wound, but failed to save. Died right there, on the spot.

I once took over a lascannon emplacement with scarabs, who have a BS of 2, and blew up a Rhino or LR or something with a single shot. Luckiest set of rolls ever!

6th Edition: I was playing against a small Khorne army with lots of bezerkers. I had whittled down one of his squads to about 7, which i (foolishly at time) charged him with 5 tactical marines. I ended up losing two marines while destroying his entire squad of 7 bezerkers (he had MoK and forgot his Ld test for CA), i haven't had that much luck since then, just look at my signature.

Not my kil, but happened to me -
let's set the scenario:
5th Edition-
Playing my Deathwing against some Tau
Turn 6
Opponent had 5 Firewarriors on an objective, I had 5 terminators (2 TH/SS, 3 LC-one with CML) in position to kill them and take the objective, which would have won me the game.

I fire 2 krak missiles into the squad, miss with one, kill a firewarrior with the other - now we are dealing with 4 firewarriors.

Charge in my terminators, proceed to kill 1 firewarrior, he kills 2 LC termies and a hammernator.

Game ends - it is a draw.

5th - BA 10 man Assault Squad deep strikes next to my tanks, rolls perfect placement, decides to fire into the side of the closest Russ with the meltas. Fails. My turn, the turret slowly turns toward them (think "Kelly's Heroes,") one shot, goodbye. Very cinematic.

5th - My IG gun line against horde Orks. Complete bloodbath, all the Orks are dead by the end of turn 3 except for one Nob. We decided to keep playing just for laughs, game ended up going until turn 7 before I finally was able to track down that Nob and kill him, with a Vendetta.

6th - Marbo! Shows up behind a Necron Barge in a Big Guns Never Tire mission. Kills said barge with the demo charge on turn 2, then proceeds to contest the objective for the rest of the game by hiding and making cover saves. Marbo!

6th - Against my Wolves, Herald of Tzeentch on a chariot jumps behind my line to contest my last objective top of 5. One Jaws roll later, and that 5 wound HQ just poofed away. Yes, poofed.

4th ed (I think) Tau vs WhiteScars.

Turn 1 Bikes move up to assault next turn. Tau fire and pin every unit bar one, and then proceeds to wipe out that unit.

Turn 2 Bikes do nothing. Tau fire and pin every unit bar one, and then proceeds to wipe out that unit.

Turn 3 Bikes do nothing. Tau fire pin one of his remining 2 units and wipe out the other unit.

Turn 4 Bikes do nothing. Tau table the WS player.

Would it every happen again? I doubt it.

Way back in 2nd edition, my genestealer chaos cult facing off against a "Space Wolves" army made up of 2 units of wolf guard termies, 2 leman russ battle tanks and a gaggle of special space wolves, inquisitor and eldar special characters. After my 20 strong unit of 'stealers came out from a full charge cyclone missile blast using the large template without a single injury, one of the stealers charged a leman russ, hit it in the track and actually was able to damage it and the damage result caused the tank to flip in a random direction. That random direction just happened to drop the tank on top of the inquisitor, eldar special characters and space wolves commander who were gathered in a small group right behind it. Killed all but the commander. The whole store laughed at that one because the space wolves player had a bit of a douchy attitude about playing and most folks loved watching him squirm. Went on to completely wipe out the entirety of his army, which wasn't hard when my single 'stealer unit out numbered his army all on its own and that didn't include the rest of my army at all.

Another 2nd edition thing that really wasn't my kill per se, but just was so funny I had to share. A friend who played orks always gave one of his nobz a vortex grenade, which was all well and good until the first time he used it and it scatter back on to his nob and killed him outright. From that point on this became a standard part of our games. Ork nob would charge out, throw vortex grenade, futz it and have it scatter back onto himself. Was funny the first time, but absolutely hilarious the 7th game in a row that it happened. He wouldn't stop using it because it was just so funny to keep having it happen every game.

In 5th edition when I was running Imperial Fists I had a basic captain who I called Captain Awesome because he never failed in hand to hand combat, ever. Through some quirk of the dice, no matter what he was facing he always won and was unharmed. One game saw him fight and beat a unit of 10 sisters repentia without getting a scratch on himself somehow, and then went on to take out multiple units of dominions and even the SoB commander without a scratch. He eventually fell in that fight, a 3 player game, to a unit of fire warriors and my spectacularly failing all of the saves for his power armor. Doh! Multiple games went on like that with him being near untouchable in melee it was just crazy. He wasn't even especially kitted for it. He had basic power armor, a storm bolter and a single lightning claw, so he wasn't maximised for melee in any way. Sold off most of the rest of the Imperial fists army, but now he will be painted up to be part of my growing Dark Angels force now. Curious to see how he does once he sees the table again.

Love those catastrophic super heavy explosions that leave massive empty spaces on the apocalypse table. Oh look your 30 assault marines charged the baneblade and destroyed it and it blowed up real good. Now go find yourself some new assault marines.

CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT!

Good kill?

5th ed: basic 5 Death Company with jmp packs (no gear) charge 10 Thousand Sons marines. Kills them all before they can strike back. I really liked my Blood Angels that day.

Better kill?

6th ed: My Stormtroopers assaulted a Necron Overlord (kitted out with mindshackle scarabs, 2+ save and a 3++ save) to stop him from attacking an objective. They lasted a good 3 game turns of assault, only actually taking casualties from themselves (because of mindshackle scarabs).

My Sergeant then survived another turn alone against the overlord and a charge of Trazyn the Infinite, and finally killed the Overlord, surviving the game as my last model on the field.

I awarded him my special "Imperial Guard Balls of Adamantium" medal, given to a single model each game for surviving the most hilariously overkill attacks.

6th edition: Nurgle biker lord challenges warboss, biker lord hits himself, wounds himself, fails save, fails toughness test. Biker lord is instant gibbed. Warboss casually walks off.

6th edition: Lootas see a storm raven, they fire 30 shots, hit 6 times, guy wont jink he needs to drop his stuff. I score 5 pens. . it crash and burns, all the terminators inside die.
