Thanks Bonde
This weekend I took the plunge and tried to build my lootas. These guys are normally not the first unit that spring to mind when you think about Snakebites
Therefore I've been trying very hard to make them look slightly different for my army, yet at the same time have a clear "this is a loota" first impression.
Let me know if I succeeded at the first attempt: he's meant to be "heavy weapon" snakebite, looking out for his next target.

This clan is looking pretty awesome. I was skeptical reading your first post, Snakebites held up by meks. Those boar boys look really sweet. I especially like your nob boar/bike conversion creature. I've been wanting to pick up one of those for the same reason (but less converted) for a while. I think I might have to now.
I like the fantasy helmet on the loota. You might want to go for an Leadbelcher look for some of them, too: just holding onto a huge gun - hoping it will go off.
I'd also add something in the fluff about the mess being prizes from a raid on another clan… maybe badmoons, as you've got a perfect token trophy from them on your warphead.
Can't say I'll be much help in the painting department, but I love where this is going and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the kind words.
Yeah the clan is a ramshackle lot of ideas which allow me to portray different facets of the ork society. The technology angle will hopefully allow me to represent all sorts of mechanical rides and vehicles which would suit the rules (it's a vehicle) and the aesthetics of Snakebites. We shall see.
About the loota. I have a few more in the pipeline, from the more "shoulder" cage-type:
to the shoot-from-the-hip kind
with the compulsory grot to reload all these ammos.
About the Warphead. Yes he has a moon in his back, but hopefully I can paint it something else than yellow. I know bad moons have yellow grinning moon for emblem, but I thought other orks use the moon glyph as well.
I could be wrong but I thought it meant weird/ magic/ unspeakable power etc... Could be wrong. Heck I like your idea as well, depending on how it goes I might end up painting it yellow and roll with the looting idea.
I don't want to wipe my dirty feet all over the fluff, but I thought that ork clans were different sides of the ork culture.
All orks are a bit superstitious, constantly looting, and banging stuffs together, attracted to power, bling and showing off, with some natural cunning and disregard for what others will think. It's just that as they trend toward one or the other they feel more at ease in a clan or another, but deep down in every ork there is a bit of bad moonz, deathskull, goff...
If I'm correct (and in the Ice Snake clan I ruled as such) everyone (at the moment) is still a snakebite, and worship tradition and "propa" culture above all else. Having said that every ork has his slight tweaks which other clans would approve of like these little lads below.
You see they have a passion for banging looted piece of metal to their body, prefer slightly darker brown (with red markings) and a good helmet must have horns. So I present to you my hard boyz snakebite (with a slightly goff tendency). As you can see I have several heads I am playing with for the Nob. The horned one is my favourite, but there's no way he can swing the big choppa with these!

You mean one broken horn and a full one?
Could work, I always saw him a swinging the big choppa in a sideway motion into the ribs more than the head.

Very few updates sorry but I have started my discovery adventure with vehicle.
I see very little snakebite deff dreads out there, probably because they are unusual but if Forgeworld is allowed to have evil sunz riding big squiggoths to battle, why can't snaekbites also have dread.
The arms are not done yet, only the body has been painted.

Cool stuff. Really like the outriders on their Skidoos. Toy dinosaurs are an excellent source for Snakebites and don't forget the Cyber Wyverns!

It is an oath we honour. Snakebites! Awesome.Love the boars. I really do miss boarboyz. I have a ton I'm stripping now to turn into counts-as-bikers, but I may wait for the new codex.
I love the dread. Really really great face. Of course they can have a dread.
I like the face/body paint too. I've been doing my orks that way too, makes them look tribal and mean.
Are you thinking of doing a squiggoth?

Yes, and it is already basecoated but I noticed a lot of irregularities, so I have to do some greenstuff work.
I'm playing it as is at the moment but can't really make it work efficiently. It's clogging my Heavy Support slot
I love to have him as a ride for my warboss, completly uncompetitive but great fluff
Thanks for the kind word on the face on the dread. I was worried it was going to turn out as one of those things I'm the only one enjoying and everyone thinks he looks silly.

What!?! I think he looks awesome, unique and very fitting for Snakebites. Very orky.
You have some really great conversions going on in your army and the dread is definitely one of them. Are you sure they meant silly? Maybe they meant killy
EDIT because I forgot to say I really like the trakk. Looking nice and rusty.

Cool, I noticed that I never updated the Deff dread pictures with snow.
Due to the high contrast of white and dark brown the camera phone was stuggling a fair bit so I took pictures under different lighting.
You should be able to pick up the icicles: (edit: the arms are unfinished and only have the base-colour)
