Really, my only disappointment with what would otherwise be a flawlessly awesome stunt is the size of the stone. Only three feet? What kind of cyclopean monolith is that? This is bush league!

Seriously though, this was awesome. Kudos to the unknown genius who pulled this off.

Well, at the very least it's heavy enough that moving it would be a headache for the authorities.

The article said that its the restaurants problem, and supposedly some of the staff think its a demon thing and it shouldn't even be touched.

Still, it seems a much nicer thing to get in your lawn than a flaming bag of dog poo.

Azathoth doesn't fit into a classification of "evil" or "Demons" and whatnot.

What's so awesome is that Lovecraft's entities are completely amoral, and the main thing that's scary about them is that they consider humanity to be of no significance whatsoever.

And yet ironically, Humans as a species resemble Nyarlathotep so much that it's scary.

It's likely that the "major" entities don't know/care much about Nyarlathotep either.

Though I think it's cool that the short story named "Nyarlathotep" is possibly based on Nikola Tesla.

I mean, that's the function that he performs, but I seriously doubt that Azathoth is even aware of his actions.

It's pretty hard to nail down what Nyarlathotep is actually up to, aside from being shady and mysterious.

I don't think Nyarlathotep has an actual goal. Assuming Lovecraft had him reflect Human nature, we can safely assume that he has no true goal, simply doing what he wants to do just because. It's not like Humanity does what it does for any real reason either.

He's actually Alpharius, or possibly Omegon!

Azatoth is an Outer God, not an Elder God.

Chalk it up to the majority of my knowledge of the mythos coming from Fantasy Flight games.

In the Cthulu LCG, Azethoth ends the game; one way or another when he shows up. I'm assuming we got about a week left before everything ends.

Is it? Two drunken devotees of Lovecraft who, while not clinically insane are certainly not in sync with the natural world, created a marker with no plans of where to place it, kept it secret and safe until the time felt right, and dropped it in an unfamiliar location in the dead of night. To be frank, it really reads exactly like an 80's horror movie. I'd love to see a mockumentary that followed their actual construction project and culminated in their encounter with their Dark Gods.

The truth far exceeded my assumption that it was a club putting up a marker for a LARP, or to commemorate some anniversary.
