Aw. No all of the above option? Alright, if I had to chose out of those, I'd go with either Geth or Cerberus. Maybe both if I can come up with an excuse to field both in the same army.

I'd be curious to see what the Illusive Man would be like on the tabletop.

Turians, led by Garrus.

No-one can repel calibrations of this magnitude!

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

For some reason, I bet if this really was a tabletop game, they might have a rule for Garrus involving ship weapon calibrations.

Too hard to choose really.

Turians, Systems Alliance humans or Krogans. Or a mixture of the whole lot.

It would be a hard choice between Krogan and Geth. Probably both.

Cerberus for the look of their Infantry, Turians for general style and Quarians for Tali.
And Alliance for Ash and Vega.
Also never forget Grunt and the Krogans.

So more or less just like with WH40k, I'll take one of each.

I picked Krogans, Asari, Geth and Vorcha.

Ideally, I'd like to do Blood Pack mercs with Vorcha core led by a powerful Krogan.

Probably both. Most rules for skirmish, some for a larger version, kind of like apocalypse for 40k.

I'd think that it should be a skirmish game, with more emphasis given to individual squad members and biotic or tech powers on a squad basis, with vehicles added in larger games, but "large" games should be about 1000 points in terms of how much stuff you bring in a 40k game.

Asari Commandos. Apart from the general background of the species (city states, sci-fi tribal culture, visual style), there's something to be said about the aesthetic focus on agility and elegance - especially if you get to combine it with devastating hit-and-run tactics of small elite squads backed by biotic powers.

Hmm, well in 40k I play Necrons, Dark Eldar, and Emperor's Children (with maybe Word Bearers in the future). So keeping in mind possible analogues to those and just what is simply cool in the ME universe:at the top Geth fo sho, always loved them, great aesthetic and background.

My second choice was Batarians, somehow I imagine them playing all sneaky and underhandedly, perhaps something like Dark Eldar aka the glass cannon race. I also like their history and streak of defiance and isolation in terms of galactic politics, but at the same time they don't seem to be the proud but foolish honorable warrior dude race. Hmm that coupled with the Geth and my love for Necrons makes me think I have a thing for outsiders "removed" from the drama of their setting.

It's an equal split between Salarians and Krogans for me, as my two favourite characters are Mordin Solus and Wrex; plus Krogans would be pretty hard to kill and Salarians caused the genocide of the latter.

Krogans followed by turions.

I plan on picking these up and using them for my dead zone Rebs.

A mass effect Deadzone expansion would be beyond awesome. Mind you, Deadzone already seems heavily inspired by it and Xcom

Geth for me

Actually.. a few months back we contacted EA about making a skirmish game and line of minis for Mass Effect and they said no :( mostly just because the company is too new. Oh well, maybe next time.

All bar the Asari and Batarians. Not a fan of those races.

Geth was the first option I picked then the others just fell into place.

Some of the special characters would be very interesting to see rules for.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

That sucks. :(

Could explain why they've also refused to let Green Ronin touch the franchise for an RPG, though - after GR already published the Dragon Age P&P, mind you. It seems the two IPs are treated a bit differently.

Neat diorama, by the way!

There really needs to be a Hanar option on this poll. Blasto the Hanar spectre would be the coolest HQ choice.

I thinkit would be awesome as a naval battle game. with the ability to board other ships. Like geth have great firepower and repair, but are fragile, Krogan are tough and deal alot. But lack tactical fortitude.

If anyone played the Citadel DLC there were tables on the Silverlight Strip (I think thats what its called) where NPCs were playing a game like that very similar to Battlefleet Gothic but in the ME verse.

I think that would be pretty cool. Of course the Reapers would be the Grey Knights of the game; always outnumbered but the toughest of the bunch.

I think there's another reason, but along the same lines. The Mass Effect universe they seem to try to keep a major focus on the mysterious, the great unknowns. Basically, the whole 'boldly going' thing.

Dragon Age feels different in that it's a setting, as opposed to a Space Opera epic story. Sure, there's mysteries and such there (like, what's up with the chantry) but it's more about the interactions between the factions and things. DA2, for better or worse, illustrates this by having you 'zoom' out of the Wardens tale, and zoom into Hawkes tale.

For example, Shepard's the saviour of the Galaxy. The Warden's the saviour of Ferelden, not Thedas. It just so happens to be The Warden's story we took part in first.

Or am I rambling incoherently?

I dunno, they have been very detailed with fleshing out both universes, to a point where I'd say there is no difference in scope between the settings themselves. Yes, the stories we're being told are somewhat different in their focus, but we already know that Shep's story is told and the next ME game will feature a different character - not to mention that we've already read about other peoples' stories in novels and comics, and have played grunts in ME3's multiplayer.

Also, I'd say the Warden is as much the saviour of Ferelden as Shep is the saviour of Earth. Both the Darkspawn and the Reapers had the capability to eradicate/reshape the entire setting, but the hero/ine stopped them in time, even though originally only trying to save their own nation. The regional limitation is something I see coming more from the setting than the character and plot, with DA being about one world and its countries traversed by foot or horse, and ME being about one galaxy and its planets, traversed by starship. If Dragon Age had dimensional portals linking different planets together, we might have had the same scope there.

That being said, of course I can't talk for BioWare! I just still think they're really missing out as the ME 'verse would make a great setting for a P&P RPG.
