I get laughed at hard core for playing land raiders and termies. ( I just think they are beautiful models and I like them for fluff reasons.) Also, my friend has his GK called Gay Knights. Oh and my DE are called Spandex Emo Elves...

Not really the right subsection for this, but since it's about getting teased about your army:
I used to play Wood Elves in Fantasy, and I haven't played a single game where they weren't referred to as 'Tree Huggers' at least once...

Oh and also once or twice people complained about how I paint my Sisters in 'the standard way' instead of doing 'something original'.

Doesn't have to do with my armies, but I get made fun of for my "luck" with dice rolls. Either I will roll below average on everything (things almost always scatter off target) or I'll roll average, maybe slightly above, but my opponent ALWAYS rolls amazing. It's all in good fun though.

Only the normal thing about guard (flashlights and t-shirts and the lot). But I don't care. I have tons of tanks and those steam roll anything they could ever have. plus they enjoy the concept of my army so its rare to hear anything and only when my infantry are used do I hear anything. But they silence when something dies to the "flashlights" like a squad of termi's.

I get this soooo bloody much...

My friends tend to think Chaos is "OP" and I keep trying to tell them, they are only good if you don't know your target priorities... Which, sounds silly, but if you are wasting your bolter fire on my Screamer Star instead of trying to ground my Daemon Prince so that your nifty Vindicator can ID him...You're doing things wrong.

My CSM are kind of the same story... I take Space Chickens... People are VERY bitter about, arguably, the ONLY viable unit in the dex that performs it's role specifically, and well....

I can't wait until I get 2 Fire Raptors, I'm gonna make people bloody CRY.....CRY I SAY

I play Eldar so yeah everything I do is cheese or spam. 2 games ago (1850) I was accused of Dire Avenger spam. 4 10 man kitted out units with exarch and PW/SS. That was a new one.
Game 2 nights ago (2250 +1 FOC) I was accused of serpent spam. I had 3..... Yeah 3.... This all the while never playing the cheese. 2 Wraithknight/Mantarch/Jetseer/Lolseer/. Never gonna play it. As a Eldar player you have my permission to keelhaul any Eldar player doing so. They give us a bad name.

I hate how I get underestimated because I play "just" vanilla marines. Somehow the other SM codices are more dangerous? Okay well, now I'm gonna stomp all over you...

Also, kind of unrelated to my armies, but I also hate it when my opinions on 40k aren't taken seriously because I'm "new"... like, dude the book is right here, you read the info, you understand it, then you put it into practical use. To me saying you have 10+ years tabletop wargaming experience is like... well.. that just doesn't matter two craps, in my mind nor in real life, so please don't hassle me about it!

Rant mode off. I hate it when I get called "new guy, playing noob army"

... I'll show you the folly of being overconfident!

Mind you I also used to play Rome Total War online so... I have to laugh when someone says they're going to beat me because my army isn't the "best"...

I have absolutely terrible luck with my tau commander ralai.

I use him in almost every apoc game, and in normal games often....while his (new) stats are actually decent, when rolling for him, its just silly bad luck.

It has almost become a running joke in our games - he even fails haywire rolls against vehicles....its quite comical at this point.

Heh whenever the topic of AA or flyers and such comes up at my gaming club, my Daemon Prince is always referred to because in one of the first games we played of 6th no one was prepared for it and its ability to reach their side by Turn 2.

A: "[Blah blah] Anti Air, [Blah Blah]"
B: "[Blah Blah] Matt's Daemon Price [Blah Blah]"

Funny it hasn't done anything since, lol, but it is still the 'big thing'.

First time I used necrons in 6th was the last time... god so much hate for them without a single flier, wraith, anni barge or d-lord in sight...

I play Loyalist Marines. Imperial Fist tactics. I, however, have chosen a Black armor with Purple shoulders, knees, feet and hands color scheme. I constantly get called "wanna-be" Chaos. That doesnt include the standard "vanilla" marine jokes. I let them have their fun. Once I put my Thunderfire cannon on the table and scout squad with cloaks and sniper rifles in a reinforced ruin it tends to quite it down a bit. Then my sternguard pods and shoots....it generally stops.

Its a game, have fun. If you arent for some reason...find a new one.

One more thing: I used to be teased by my friends about not having a single Heldrake in my army. I am the guy who prefers appealing/fluffy choices over competitiveness, they are more win-oriented (far from WAAC, though) and have been actually encouraging me to buy 1 Heldrake to augment my forces. I've relented and now I eagerly await to test it on the battlefield.
