Void Shield generators... probably not for that much. I don't recall what the Void Shield Generators do from Stronghold Assault. I vaguely remember a 6" or 12" bubble of 4++ goodness from the Apocalypse data sheet.

void Shield generators create a void shield. 12" radius from the generator.
It's AV12, is removed on glance or pen, and can be restored on a 5+.
Each generator can buy another 2 shields, iirc.

Thanks for that! So that's pretty similar to what I recall from Apocalypse. Or I'm just getting them all confused in my old age.

Don't worry. They make up the difference in profit with the markup in your neck of the woods.

Yes. By reducing volume they will drive up demand which....and then....hmm.

I said that they were trying to recoup costs on the VSG not SHA.

This is what I was thinking as well, but was the wall plastic?

Looks really cool and also gives us an idea for the size so when folks start scratch building their own versions.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Meh.

It's OK, but i'm not going to buy it.

Pretty uninspired.

I also hate that servitor in the wall. Why does he have a free arm to operate that panel? What if it gets shot off? Just integrate him into the wall, or better yet put him behind a panel.

It's a nice enough model but I'd rather scratch build my own for the money they're charging, besides if I really was going to spend some dinero on a shield generator whotsits then I'll save up and fork out for the Forgeworld game tile, the preview looked stunning from the little I've seen of it.

What about everything that was always going to come out before the IG release which always was, and remains, due for release the first weekend of April?

That is...not what imagined at all. Not liking it.
I envisioned something more like this. Sure, it doesn't have battlements, but the GW version barely has any either.

At first I was mad at GW for making a $130 (factoring in the "not American tax") piece of LE terrain. Then I saw the pics...

That thing is way to busy, even more so than the CoD tiles which is quite an achievement.

Forge World obviously didn't make this kit as they know what a shield generator/power station should look like..

Of course an entire RoB board won't work for that terrain but at least the thing is well designed!

That's something.. I guess. Yeah, that's about all I can comment on it as frankly it's just meh. It frankly doesn't look like a void shield generator to me personally and I also prefer the FW one but that may be because of an interest in Star Wars as well.

This release seems desperate. Also, in my area SHA seems a non-starter... shame.

SHA is actually quite alright, just drop the Aquila Strongpoint and the Void Shield Generator, and it's all good. Improved building rules, too.

That is truly an embarrassingly ugly release by GW - seriously, what he hell were they thinking?

But at least as noted above we now have dimensions for the thing...

That is $100? Is this some kind of joke? $100 for a plastic (or is it resin?) building? I'd bet that kit doesn't cost more than $20 to make, so what the hell is worth $100 for it?

Being limited probably it won't make it to Japan.
Being 100$ it will be so expensive it won't sale anyways.
So I won't have to worry about seeing that thing on a gaming table.
It's great news!

On the other hand that FW generator makes me happy, I wish it was not that expensive.
