Is there any real life left in this topic?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Actually, GW has made a brilliant move here. With this item selling out so fast and becoming infamous on the resale circuit, GW has practically guaranteed that their next limited edition terrain piece will sell out immediately, while all the actual risk in the endeavor will be borne by the guys hoping to resell for a profit.

Actually again no. Limited supply in terms of a small release like this is not a supply shock since there has been and only will be x number at this time. Supply shocks are drastic changes to the availability. And again, actually period of emergency is generally a requirement.

PoE is a requirement for the Law side of things. Read the article you posted.

A grocery store selling a roll of toilet paper for $50 after all of the toilet paper factories in the world were attacked by rabid eco terrorists would be price gouging. Purchasing a collectors' item speculatively for resale at a markup is not really price gouging.

I didn't understand why anyone would want that POS badly enough to pay $100, much less $300-$500. But, it takes all kinds I suppose. If people are happy to pay $500 for something they do not need then that's their own business.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

AlexHolker: "The power loader is a forklift. The public doesn't complain about a forklift not having frontal armour protecting the crew compartment because the only enemy it is designed to face is the OHSA violation."

AlexHolker: "Allow me to put it this way: Paramount is Skynet, reboots are termination attempts, and your childhood is John Connor."

Thanks for posting that. Thought this was the case given the elaborate packaging and polystone material.
Looks like GW ordered up a single shipping container's worth of these for a trial run, or a quick profit, depending on one's point of view.

If they're from a Chinese manufacturer, there's a chance that some might have escaped through the back door due to over-production. In full retail packaging. To be "cloned" elsewhere in China.

Chance??

Having spent many years living in Hong Kong I can tell you it is almost a certainty. I doubt they are unaware of the value of what they are making,

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.
