Well one of the reasons I went for 'fences' was so that they didn't have to be complex builds and so would hopefully eat up less time
Littletower - You could just add more  rules are at least two, total of 12"...could be four 3" pieces, could be ten 4" pieces

er...I have a question... how tall should the walls /fences be ?
since we are talking about a structure that is roughly 30cm wide...I am thinking about some taller walls right now... after all bigger is better...right?

Height is no issue here....for playable terrain you might want cover that can be fired over by standing troops, or you might want something that blocks line of sight completely for troops and vehicles, or you might want something that just blocks access.....all fair game

don't know why it is showing pics as broken...tried to post just the pics without spoilers, but it wouldn't show up that way, either...
EDIT: for some reason, it works now...noticed each of the two pics had more than 100 views, so i guess people were able to see it in the gallery...

@cam--it's going to be spray-painted graffiti, but it will be on there...
will also have to figure out how to get "mekugi" in a tag somewhere, and monkeytroll's name on one of the pieces for "brown-nose the judge" suck up points...

Was thinking along the lines of the wall from Game of Thrones Style?

If it's a kind of Hadrian's Wall/Great Wall of China type affair that's all good.
I mean, my definition of a road was a moebius strip from hell, I'm happy with quite liberal interpretations
graven - simple, modular, playable terrain is great - I see these comps as a good excuse to increase people's terrain collection, it is all about the taking part, with the added bonus of increasing our skills and getting kudos from our peers.

Hey I haven't seen that either, thought I might get the books instead or something.
Given the nature of fences, their general usefulness and ease of construction... I'm pretty sure I'll make an entry later on. I just don't want to promise results and then have my diorama run over (very likely at this stage) and have to bow out again

Well, first idea didn't get through.
a) Too small (Haven't I heard that one before!)
b) Well under the expected performance (That is not new either!)
and,
c) Finished even before the race started (This one is really a first-timer, I swear).
So I came up with something else. Sadly, it required a miniaturized high-power neodimium laser and some other bits that apparently are not going to be available for at least 50 years (and I don't really know what a neodimiun laser actually is, but it sounded about right). Should read less Analog and more Popular Mechanics, I guess.
Will ponder some more...

If I was to make something, it would probably be a drystone hedge with windblown bushes. Im not sure I have enough corks, must get some more expensive wine in. Or I could use actual gravel, but its harder to stick that together. Hmmmm Maybe maybe maybe.
