Yes.. all of them is the answer!

Would love to have some representation for all of the Ork clans at some point - just been Goffs so far, but just working on some Bad Moons and collecting enough vehicles for an Evil Sunz kult of speed.

Latest update: Some Goff Gunwagonz. These are from the 3rd edition Epic 40000 release (I think), there are tons of these on eBay usually at a pretty reasonable price. Needed a bit of a repaint, but fortunately the original paint was a pretty thin layer so didn't obstruct the detail too much.

I removed the massive mechanical arms from the one wagon, which for me managed to break the suspense of disbelief (what is that point where it becomes unacceptable? Genetically engineered superwarriors are OK, psychic powers fine, but there was no way in hell that wagon would ever be moving anywhere with those big arms on the front of it!)

These will probably be attached to a Goff Warband as some additional firepower.

Nice haul. You're raking it in right now.

My take on suspension of disbelief- Genetic warriors and psychic powers started in a fantasy realm so that's how we view then. Vehicles are real world and we (at least I) have a tendency to compare the physics of our world to the assumed physics of the 40K universe and frequently see things that could not be possible (usually in Ork vehicles with giant towers full ov gunz an stuff).

Yes I think you're right. I suppose it's things that you know about (like the laws of physics) and if those are observable.

Another example of a 'breaker' for me was the King Arthur film (by Guy Ritchie). The suspension of disbelief wasn't broken by the massive, sky-scraper size elephants or wizards on their backs firing fire balls that were disintegrating people instantly. Nope, it was Eric Bana riding his horse off the edge of a ramp so he could jump on one of the elephants, while the horse plummeted to its death below. A special suicide horse that can be ridden like a motorbike? Nope

Anyway! Another quick update with a haul from ebay: A Thunderhawk gunship, original Predators and some very old robots and dreadnoughts. Got all of them for a very generous £10.
The Thunderhawk and Predators will be going in a Nitromors dip (any idea what Marine chapter is yellow and Black? Wasn't it Executioners or something?)
And the side sponsors will be coming off the Predators as they look a bit ridiculous.
A further update with some more painted minis hopefully coming soon!

ROBOTS!!! Man I had forgotten about them. I have 2 of them in 28mm from RT.

That's a wicked score for $13.90 (US exchange) eBay for such things is brutal.

So, about that "painting" thing you were talking about earlier... Just poking fun but concerned that the avalanche of inbound awesome might turn into a daunting task when you start slinging paint.

Hah!

Yes I know what you mean - have got a bunch of stuff on the table and it is difficult to know what to paint next.

Next up, something a bit more boring some Rapier laser destroyers. Managed to get a few of these to build them up to a full unit from a very helpful guy on the Epic Space Marine facebook group - really useful place to get hold of rare miniatures.

I really like the concept of the World Eater legion (as it was during the Great Crusade) being a fully operating army with artillery, heavy weapons etc. and not just a group of screaming lunatics flinging themselves at the enemy. Which doesn't really hold water with the suspense of disbelief thing.

Also got a couple of these - I have no idea where they originate from (vaguely remember a line of small die-cast tanks and planes).
But might use them to represent a Crusade-era Fire Raptor (which from descriptions is a kind of VTOL gunship). What do you think?

It's similarly scaled to one of the old GW Thunderhawk Gunships. I'm hoping as there is an element of abstraction about vehicle/titan scale in Epic that it shouldn't look too out of place?
But I will paint it up in World Eater colours and see how it looks alongside the other formations.

I've finished painting up a Goff Stompa mob. I actually prefer the later mijniature with the tracks rather than legs, but got a pile of these things from the 'Bay (in various stages of decay) for a very cheap price so can't complain!
I'll hopefully add some Killa Kans and maybe even a Super Stompa if I can get hold of the old Mekboy Gargant miniature for a reasonable price.

Any C&C very welcome

A quick update, this one is a medley of miniatures. Some Tinbotz (which are going to be used as Killa Kanz and join the Stompa mob), another Lungbursta gunwagon and a first sample attempt at some Bad Moons. I tried to green-stuck on some hats (as we know, Bad Moons are the richest of ork clans and can afford hats!) Not entirely pleased with how they turned out but will keep trying at it, and hopefully look OK when they are on the tabletop.

Cheers man!

To be honest most of the hats weren't intentional - it was a tiny blob on the head, push it around a bit, job done. Going to have a ton of these to do so it can't be too time intensive!

Tarantulas! Man I forgot about those.

I'm going to have to crack open my Epic set this weekend. This thread really makes me want to push my group to look at this game. They call themselves Grognards but play AoS and the newest 40K with total disregard to almost anything that came before this (only exception so far is a Mordheim campaign in 2015).

Is this any good Malika mate? Have put on Dakka
Spoiler:

I think a Grognard is deemed so by his games, not the length of his beard or the age of the rock band on his t-shirt!

Definitely think it's worth a try if you get the chance. Especially if it's some guys that used to play Epic back in the day, try get a win or two on Ebay on those old clearout auctions where someone is getting rid of the stuff and has just photographed a pile of miniatures. I've managed to get some ridiculous value of stuff doing this (and actually an army by itself) then have a fun session sorting it all out and putting into correct piles! All the army lists and rules are freely available online as well, so depending on which version you want to play you can easily get some army lists printed onto a couple of sheets of A4 to work out what you have there.

Many thanks for the comments guys!

Darkjim - Yes this is the plan mate I've just started on a small Kult of Speed first, but will move on to Bad Moons after that (and hopefully a Gargant or two)

b-tone - you know, actually it is so easy to paint 6mm (I think actually much easier than 28mm). A lot of the time it's just a base colour and a wash or drybrush. I think looking at your gallery you would have absolutely no trouble..

Just got hold of some of these lovely little 'tainted elites' that were released as part of a Vanguard Miniatures indie-go-go campaign. Lovely little sculpts. My problem is now I have some new stuff to paint! These ones are obviously going to be 40k (rather than 30) - the question is, what shall I paint them up as?
Rather than going for a traitor founding legion I might opt for a traitor warband - can anyone suggest a good one? Red Corsairs would be the obvious but perhaps one of the lesser known ones? Was thinking perhaps the Soul Drinkers, which might be cool mixing some regular marines in with the traitor ones (to give a more ragtag look) and also attempt an 8-legged marine conversion for Chapter Master Sarpedon!

A very small update as I've got round to painting again.

Back to the World Eaters again, this is the first half of an Assault Cohort. The miniatures are the 6mm range from Vanguard Miniatures. I need to complete another 4 stands including the command.

Have also started work on some terrain, got some very reasonably priced printed plastic terrain (a whole set for around £20, from the 'Bay)

Llamahead - the terrain was from the 'Bay, some guy that was doing 3D prints of both ruins and completed building blocks. They were very basic (I have added the debris to the ruins and had to add plasticard roofs) but very cheap, got probably about a dozen for £20. All sorts as well, there are some more gothic-ruin style buildings that I've yet to complete.

Next update, some more minis finished and a completed army shot, of all of the stuff I have done so far.

Firstly, a World Eater Assault cohort with Thunderhawk transport. The Thunderhawk was one I got very cheaply from Ebay, it was in the Blood Angels legion but has had a Nitromors bath and has now been re-purposed for use by the WE
The assault miniature guys with jet packs are from the Vanguard miniature range.
I know Thunderhawks were less common during the Great Crusade, but there was an old art piece (sadly had a look online and I can't find it) of jump pack marines coming out of an aircraft, and wanted something that used that as inspiration.

And finally a complete army shot! Of all of the work I have done so far for both the World Eaters and Orks.

This is hopefully just the beginning. I'm now working on completing some gangs for a Necromunda campaign I'm running (a few of the guys don't paint so am doing their stuff for them) as well as painting up some minis for the Walking Dead: All out War miniature/board game. Have a lot more ideas in the works for 6mm though so hopefully will post here again before too long!

As always any C&C very welcome

Agreed on the Grognard definition, but I'm having a hard time getting anyone to play a game older than their dog. I did manage to get Mordheim started back up.

What's your opinion on the Adeptus Titanicus teasers? Are they really going to make 6mm relevant again? If yes, I'm going to be happier than a little kid with an ice cream cone.

Can't wait! The new miniatures look stonking - I've put off re-building and painting my originals because obviously the new ones aren't going to scale that well.
But I love the sound of it being like a skirmish game, with the titans prowling each other through ruins and the like - obviously will withhold judgement until I get to play the game, but even if the rules don't work very well will still have a supply of new titans to use with Epic!

I'm not sure if will help bring 6mm back into the limelight. No doubt there will be some new AT players who want to give full Epic a go and join that community. But, I think a lot of casual players just want something they can get an easy pick-up game with against Joe Stranger, and others who wouldn't consider buying anything that isn't shrink-wrapped. So I'm not sure how much of a knock-on effect it will have community-wise - hopefully I will be proven wrong and it will start an epic renaissance!

Good luck with getting someone to play the game. I'm a firm believer in Epic, think the moment someone sees a game or tries to have a go they will be hooked - the setting just suits the scale perfectly, and the game mechanics are excellent and pretty much sell the game on their own.

Scale creep has bothered me for the last... 28 years? haha

If this comes out and is somehting I'm interested in I'll likelt just reboot my original armies (Imperial / Ork / Chaos) and include some new stuff that doesn't wonk the scale too much.

Judging by their most recent releases I'll be surprised if it isn't another "board game". I've not seen anything about it yet other than that ass-kicking video that made the hair on my arms stand up. I want to be excited about this, but I also wanted to be excited about Shadespire and Necromunda.

Just saw this blog, lovely stuff. Having started in 28mm, I was intimidated to try Epic, but I think the sorts of stories I like best about the 40K universe are absolutely best told in that scale. Shame the minis are a bit hard to track down. I always regretted not getting into the re-release. If something in that scale comes out again, I'll be delighted.

One of the reasons I left 40K behind was the integration of Epic scale stuff into what is the world's most bloated skirmish game. I just don't like how it looks or feels to be doing that outside of special scenarios.

Wonderful Blog, i have a huge collection of Epic starting from the original Adeptus Titanicus plastic Warlord Titans and a Capitol Imperialis crawler...

The flyer you have found I used to own as well, they are known as Mega Force; it was part of a three Flyer set including a Commander and two of the VTOLs you have, and a small plastic launch ramp:
