So is there a date for the new stuff or is "coming soon" all that is known?

Squinting at the pic, it looks like Felthius isn't wearing a helmet and one of his cohort does indeed have a special weapon. Looks like it might be a Plague Spewer. If so, I'l be very happy.

What is this flyer mentioned on Atias blog?

Howdy Guys and Girls

New easy to build kits on the way - including two missing options from the Death Guard Codex.

via Kobrakei, B&C

"At my local GW today and they received a next steps panflet for people who have just bought Dark Imperium. It had the usual such as Mortarion and Primaris characters, but it also had some new Easy To Build kits, consisting of the following

Redemptor Dread
Aggressors
Lord Felthid and the Court of something something
Plague Hauler

The pics were only of the box artwork so couldn't see the exact content or models and there were no prices, but the Lord Felthid box was of a Lord in Cataphract armour with a Manreaper, and three Plague Marines around him."

Lady Atia

Edit: Updated post with the flyer, thanks @ Primalexile.

Assuming they're keeping both kits, it's an awesome choice. Those who want customisation will buy the full kit. This who want a model they can assemble in 5 minutes will buy the new one.

I think GW might be trying a new market, to see if easy to build sells better than standard kits. I think easy to build are a horrible way to go as it limits customization and creativity but I can see some mom looking at a kit and thinking lil Tommy should probably get a easy to build kit.
I'd assume easy to build kits are also cheaper to manufacture or that you can fit more stuff onto the same sized sprue. Why have 3 sprues for a kit full of options when you can have 2 sprues with all the options already fixed in place...

For me, a middle ground is the best option. I'm a modeler, and I love tinkering with kits... but for building armies, you want to be able to get them assembled as quickly and easily as possible, while still having options open.

So the best road, IMO, is keeping kits to as few parts as possible while having weapons and other important options interchangeable.

I don't see the problem with Easy to Build Kits as long as they are a option and not they don't stop producing normal kits to change over time to a more limited kits.

More options are always good.

The Easy Builds are also a nice, cheaper option for people who don't want to shell out upwards of $50 for a troop box. Not everyone has a lot of disposable income.

Strongly disagree. When GW moved away from those awful old monopose models and began selling kits with actual genuine customisability not just in what weapon they're holding but pose and combinations of different parts it was brilliant. The only reason this is even an issue is GW have insisted on increasing the size of armies over the last 15 years to ludicrous and unwieldy levels - the game has already suffered by its transformation into 28mm Epic, letting the models suffer for it, the one thing GW have always been able to claim as a strength overall even when treating their fans like garbage, putting out awful rules, or releasing kits like the Centurions or Chibihawk, that would be actually mental.

If you don't like building loads of models, play smaller point value games and you don't have to.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Yeah. For building armies, you want to be able to get them painted as quickly and easily as possible, but I don't see many people claiming for "Prepainted" Warhammer miniatures.

Give me my expensive, ultra customizable kits. And make monopose and easy to build versions for people that just want to play, has less disposable income, or just don't like to build stuff as much as I do.

If they come two in a box... probably it will be at the same price point as the Redemptor, to be consistent. The rest of the Easy to Build all have the same price point (But they are all infantry)
The Redemptor is 40 pounds so we can expect the Easy to Build one to be cheaper. If it is 30 pounds and the box of Bligh Haulers comes with two for that price... that would be beautifull.

EDIT: I have checked the art and yeah. It has 0 relation with the contents of the box. So probably it will be only one Blight Hauler. But then it will need to be cheaper than the Redemptor.

That's kinda the point. They are easy to build because they ARE basic. If it wasn't basic it wouldn't be easy to build. Albeit that results in less customizable but hey what you expect? They provide somehow easily posable customizable easy to build cheap version? What that would leave more expensive kit for then?-)

And good enough for few ones but after 2 box of calth I sure am looking for ideas how to get the contemptator from 3rd be LITTLE different pose wise! How many identical poses I can swallow?-) But due to price for getting MKIV bodies I still likely need another 2-3...

I like the easy to build kits for a number of reasons.

For starters, I all ready had more than a dozen armies over 3500 points (some well over). Getting another army up and running wasn't really a priority for me. The cheapness of an all Primaris army is what made me do it. Buy two starters, split with a friend that plays Deathguard.

I like variation in posing, but who says that one of those variants can't be a standard pose? If you have one Eazy Build, and one regular dread, they don't have to look the same.

Building an entire new army can be exhausting. Anything to easy the process is welcome.

I'm actually looking forward to both the Agressors and the Redemptor. I decided against them because of how much money they cost, deciding to go with a Contemptor and more HellBlasters. But with this, I can try them out and not feel too bad.

Naturally, the Aggressors are the variant I would never use (the Flamer variant), so that is a no go for me. The Redemptor might be interesting though.

The Contemptor from Calth is terrible. For a monopose, its decent, especially the arms, but the torso and especially the legs are just bad. I'm sad we got it rather than a proper multi-part plastic one.

Redemptor, we will have to see. It is a big, complicated kit compared to the Mk IV/V style dreads, and while I can see a few places they can simplify it for an easy build without making a lot of sacrifices, the only decent plastic dreadnought of the snapfit type is the helbrute from Dark Vengeance.

Will probably grab a set of aggressors or two depending on the price. Comparing the starter set Inceptors to the multi-part kit has me optimistic. The starter inceptors are pretty good at keeping most the detail, except for the gun shields.

I don't mind it too much as cheaper alternative for the beautifull legion specific ones but damn I wish it had some leg posability! I don't mind look per se but multiple identical poses=sucks. That's why I don't like current trend with mono-pose infantry GW is heavy on either.

My problem with the Contemptor kit is the price, i'm fine with monopose, lazy kit but 60 US$ for that?

ETB Dread might be cool if the price is right. I can play around with it unpainted without having to use Blutac.

Yeah I would never buy those individually. Nor any of the other contents of battle of calth etc. Just get box with all and save money!

Contemptor is such an odd kit.

The post is iffy (but fixable. Ball bearings in the hip joints. Seen it done, easy enough) true. But the real head scratcher is how the arms are set up. Doesn't lend itself to buying upgrade/alternate weapons from FW.

The plastic Contemptor is absolute garbage, but I'm personally convinced it is intentionally gak so that they don't tread too much on the toes of Forgeworld. If the plastic Contemptor was something equal to the Venerable Dreadnought kit (i..e nice, and lots of options) the big money maker for for Forgeworld would be undermined.

Personally I praise new easy-to-build kits, but I am curious - what if they're quite cheap but use horrible plastic? That would be an interesting/sad approach.

If they're good quality plastic, then the vehicles will be super easy to convert, so people can shut up about "hoping it fails miserably". Don't like it? Don't buy it. Or, buy it and show us your modeling skills. Who cares.

Funnily enough it does and very easily, all you need to do is shave back some of the plastic and the FW weapons go straight onto the plastic shoulder, think i have a pic somewhere i will post it up.

I very much doubt we'll see lower quality plastic on these models. GW only did that for terrain kits so far, not on regular miniatures including easy to build kits.

It will be interesting to see the price point of the Primaris specifically. If they go the Contemptor route, that is laughable quality at a high price, I'd be seriously confused as to the point of the Redemptor.. I guess we'll see.

While I'm firmly in the "more options is a good thing" camp, I can certainly understand the concern that if GW figures out easy to build sets sell well, they may jump to the conclusion that people like easier and lower quality kits rather than that they're just looking for a price break when building large armies. The ideal still is that there are easy kits for people who for whatever reason don't care for the modeling side while at the same time modeler get the most out of multi-part kits. Would be a shame if GW cut down on options, as they have on occasion.
