@Boss Salvage: Thank you. I think in terms of my artwork/hobbies I have very big ups and downs - that is I often find myself either completely stumped or unmotivated to do anything or I’m driven to work ceaselessly...

@youidiotkid: Wow... I really don’t know what to say. That’s incredibly humbling, thank you so much! That said, I have seen some absolutely stunning Slaaneshi armies (as well as many other amazing projects on this forum alone) that in my opinion are far better than anything I could hope to produce.

So another big update: I went right to work on the Second Twin Keeper of Secrets...

“Your fury thrills me, fills me with amusement and desire.

Come now, priest, rake my face with your nails, gouge and tear my skin.

If you hate me as you say, then take out my eyes and rip out my hair!

Burn them on your fire.

Show me your passion, priest.

Show me you feel fear.

I can read your every anxiety, for you are no warrior to fight me.

Even now your stuttering spirit edges to the throne of my Master.”

- an extract from the poem: “The Horned Man”, Liber Chaotica, Vol. 2 - Slaanesh.

Dionysus, Keeper of Secrets, Sublime Master of Masochistic Ecstasy...

I ended up sticking with the black leather, like her twin, Bacchus. After thinking about it I figured it would keep better with the twin theme, but with Dionysus I made her gloves shorter and her tattoos much longer and tried my best to achieve a “centipede” look to some of them. (A big thing I believe Slaanesh portays very well is fears and nightmares... insects and arachnids of various kinds pop into my mind when contemplating some of those nightmarish themes).

When I find the time I’ll try to set up a group shot of the Whole Cult thus far, especially since the holiest of Daemonic entities are finished..

Next up I think I’ll start painting some of the Possessed Dark Elves as well as begin working on the next addition to The Rising Sun’s ranks...

More to come soon!

I don't think I noticed the asymmetrical limbs when she was unpainted, nice touch Appreciate the other tweaks from her sister as well. Somewhat random aside: surprised you didn't pierce any of their nipples? Such restraint from a Slaanesh cultist

Late to the party but glad I made it. I really appreciate the models you have in your Warband, always enjoy seeing old sculpts getting a chance to come out and play. Excellent conversions as well. My game group just started up a new campaign and I'm in high gear for as much Mordheim I can.

Subbed and looking forward to seeing what you offer next.

@Boss Salvage: LOL thank you... now that you say it, I really should get down to piercings on future Conversions!

@amazingturtles: Thank you! Yeah... theres always been something about Slaanesh that just encompasses Your worst nightmares to me. Plus Slaaneshi mutants/daemons seem to give off that arachnid-esque look that is increasingly disturbing the more I look at some of the old artwork.

@Skalk Bloodaxe: Thank you I’m glad you enjoy it! This entire project has been nothing short of a blast.... and it’s NEVER too late to join the Dark Prince Of Chaos!

So the Cult’s Next update: This one’s gonna be a bit pic heavy...

The Decadent and savage Seekers Of Slaanesh!

“When I first encountered the wild huntresses, ‘twas the horror of their claws and the obscene aspect of their steeds that foremost afflicted my soul. Thanks be, I can see neither in my mind’s eye any longer, but the huntresses’ otherworldly singing still echoes through my dreams. It is a sound at the same time both terrifying and wondrous, possessed of an ethereal beauty that is eclipsed only by its perversity. The more I try to banish it from my thoughts, the more hungrily my mind yearns for its blasphemous harmonies.” - Liber Maelific, Daemons Of Chaos.

So these models were very fun to paint. When I was working on them I decided to stay almost completely away from gold, much like the Keepers of Secrets.... I really like having the mortal sections of the Warband all Glorious and Gold, as if they are trying to emulate the “warmth and bright glory of Slaanesh”, while the Daemonic ranks simply are exactly that and purely red and warm tones. Also, unlike the Cult of the Sixth Circle, I wanted to try and attempt to make the Daemonette’s Mounts much more striking. I decided to stay away from the warming browns building up to the Red hair and opted for a strong bright red, with the mounts being jet black. I think this ended up making their features more pronounced and also made their eyes show... i also LOVE these sculpts and how they share features with the Daemonettes themselves.

Also, I’ve gotten down to taking a group shot of the entire Cult!

The Decadent Host of The Rising Sun....

“The armies that meet on the ghost plains of the chaotic battlefields are vast beyond all mortal comprehension. And the foul spawn and daemons that fight there defy any sane person’s imagination.” - Richter Kless, Liber Chaotica Vol. 2 - Slaanesh.

Some close ups...

The Darksoul Champion.

The Goblinoid Flesh-Sorcerer and his Ravening Horde.

The Deadly assassin, ever ready to cut down the enemy command... and keep the Cultists in check..

The Hellswarm...

Well that’s it for now. Next up I’ll probably stop being lazy and work on the Possessed Dark Elves! I also may begin prepping another Six Seekers Of Slaanesh to bolster the ranks of the Rising Sun’s Daemonic Cavalry.... more to come!

OG daemonettes on steeds look grand, love them sculpts - also thank you for putting them on round bases, ovals FTL. And is that right that you have more of the mounted Diaz to go? Lucky!

Force looks hella cool all together, such wonderful tone

Aside: Might be borrowing your black feet thing from the Keepers for my (very pale) Bloodletters. While not groundbreaking per se the inspiration credit is yours.

@Ynneadwraith: Thank you! I said it before, but that’s incredibly humbling.. and motivating!!! And the keepers of Secrets are possibly, next to the Darksoul Champion, some of my favorites in the Cult - plus I’ve always had a soft spot for the Keepers conceptually. They truly are some of the most horrifying and surreal aspects of warhammer fantasy battle and 40k.

@Boss Salvage: LOL I am a proud (and LUCKY) owner of six more of the sculpts. There’s something about the sculpts that just give off so much motion and character - even the normal Juan Diaz Daemonettes. And thank you! I’m very happy with how things are slowly turining out with the Cult and I’m honestly more than happy that any work I do can inspire others!

So a very minor update:

While I do still have some of the OOP Mounted Daemonettes still in the prepping stages, I had also gotten my hands on a modest horde of the modern plastic Daemonettes... while I’m not a big fan of them I figured it would be a good opportunity for some converting and breaking up any monotony among more metal sculpts. I’m going to try my best to make them mix well with the others.

A good friend of mine also gave me some of his Plastic Daemonettes, increasing the number to 18. He said he really didn’t need them and none were painted. After some cleaning and more converting we have swelled the Hellswarm!

He said he’s still trying to find the last two somewhere in his house, but personally I’m fine with fielding the unit in multiples of it’s sacred number.

Other than getting to painting some of these summoned Daemons, I’m going to begin building and possibly editing the last six Seekers...

More to come!

Another update: Half of The plastic Daemonette Swarm finished.

While I still prefer the OOP metal ones I did earlier I do have to say that after painting these I feel like I’ve began to appreciate the sculpts a bit more. I think my favorite part of the modern sculpts is the heads. There’s something... “Slaves to Darkness” about them. They have much more human, but still alien features. Additionally, i noticed that they have more in common with the realms of chaos era in regards to their bodies. Unlike the Juan Diaz versions, they are much more modest - I tried my best to work with it and ultimately decided to add much more black leather to their arms and legs... I sort of used the cenobites from Hellraiser as inspiration.

Some close ups:

I also kind of like the creative utility of their corsets. You can easily paint them as leather of various shades, or in my case as literal armor. I went with silver for largely the same reason as the seekers and Keepers. Also painting all the unique hairstyles was fun as hell! lol

That’s it for now... more to come.

A bit grudgingly, the girls are looking good. I still hate the mono-breasts and the bad feelings I associate with that design change (from a time where GeeDub very much felt like it was switching gears to appeal more to kids and their parents' wallets), but you've breathed life into the sculpts with nice tweaks and a sweet scheme - the added black leather may be playing a decent part, cutting down on all that pale leg that would otherwise be showing.

The swarm looks particular nice in a group, where the tone of this army comes through and continues to be really satisfying. So bravo once more!

@Boss Salvage: Thank you. I’m glad that they at least blend into the rest of the Cult... and I completely agree about the sculpts and the time period. Though, I do admit I think the mono boob thing is ok, albeit in doses rather than a whole kit lol plus the older models had more than just two breasts in some sculpts and knifes, which I think was very awesome about the old Daemonettes/Seekers since it broke up the monotony of the claws.

So another update...

This post is a bit of a deviation from the usual stuff I post since this is about a model that means a lot to me.

Malus Darkblade, Scion Of Hag Graef.

This model was truly a labor of love more than anything else. Malus Darkblade has a very special place in my love for warhammer. His comic book series is one of the major things that originally got me into collecting Dark Elf minis - which soon grew into my first army for warhammer fantasy battle when I was in high school.

A good friend of mine, who had previously gotten me into WH40k at the time, bought a bunch of empire after we played some WHFBRP (my first foray into RPing lol) and since I had already been collecting my Dark Eldar army (who, in 3rd edition, had a very similar sculpting style to that of the Dark Elves of the time) it wasn’t very long before I had made my modest collection of Dark Elves on my bookshelf grow into a whole army of the North!

Unfortunately, life began to get in the way of my hobby and eventually I had to sell off the majority of my Dark Elves.... but, since my resurgence in the warhammer fantasy world is in full swing with my Dark Elf Slaanesh Cult I thought it couldn’t be a better time to finally do justice to the character that started it all.

Despite Darkblade being the driving force behind my initial few Dark Elf minis I never actually got the model! When, I finally did it was many years later and since he was sitting on my hobby desk for a while I figured that the Demonically Possessed Dark Elf anti-hero (I guess you could call him that lol) would be a perfect addition to my current collection of Elven Slaves to Darkness.

Finally having this model painted is bringing back very awesome memories - reminding me of my horde of evil pointy-eared plastic, lead and metal - which spawned many great times playing fantasy role play, narrative games and the like. I think it’s very funny how something so simple was able to kick start all those good times. I guess in a way this mini is a representation of why I love warhammer and the hobby.

To end this post down memory lane, here’s one of the very first Dark Elf minis that I painted back then. She’s the only model I kept from the army for memory’s sake.

Well, there will be more to come soon enough for the Cult - and it’ll be one last hobby dedication to the world of warhammer and my old friends and memories too.

I know it’ll be a little off topic, but if anyone reading would like to share some of there first forays into Warhammer and awesome hobby memories - please feel free!

@Verthane: LOL oooh he better! Laeresh is meticulously planning the hold’s assault...

@Tim 121RVC: thanks! Malus’s Cold One, Spite, is actually just the stock model lol the OOP cold ones were, well... kinda fat and chunky lmao.

@genom.cor: Thank you so much! It’s incredibly motivating to hear things like that! I definitely don’t deserve it though, growing up I was always so wide-eyed and stunned by other Slaaneshi armies myself... Liber Chaotica also was an enormous inspiration for most of my hobbying too.

@Private Benjamin: Thank you!!! I’ve always loved the era of Warhammer that these modes came from, as well as the older ranges since when I began playing I mainly had to use eBay lots to bulk up my forces and there were many, many old metal Dark Elves floating around at the time! And as an Oldhammer lover you may enjoy what I have in store this post!

Next update: Back to Mordheim!

So this is a very small update, but a big one for me... it’s a little bit of a continuation of last post in terms of nostalgia for my old collection of Dark Elves! This also brings my collection back to the beginning of this whole awesome journey with mordheim!

So thinking about the skirmish side of things I personally felt that the mortals in my collection weren’t as varied as they could be - specifically with the rank and file Druchii. To atchieve this goal I decided to hunt down some of the minis I used to have in my old Army of the North.

The new WIP additions to the Mordheim Cult of The Rising Sun Warband!

These models hold a special place in my heart due to their character and the fact that a lot of my old collection had these sculpts littered around the units I had. Now, these models were way before my time, but for whatever reason I was able to find these during my “lot hunting” days when I began playing! At the time I didn’t know how rare they were, but I did think they were awesome.

I believe they are a mix of Marauder and early Citadel sculpts by Bob Naismith? But I could be wrong.

Something in particular about these modes I love is how each of their faces is pretty unique and identifiably male or female by just that alone. Plus they do have a very sinister and particularly Slaaneshi vibe to them that screams “Realms of Chaos!” Without any need for a bunch of spikes (though I DO love me some spikes lol).

That’ll be it for now, next up on my painting table is some of these awesome Druchii and also the mounted version of their leader... he seems to be on a “Dragonhorse” (if anyone knows what that was back in the day please share!)

So a quick update: I’ve finished painting eight of the twelve Slaaneshi Druchii Cultists.

I LOVED painting these. They really do have an awesome sense of movement and character.

I chose to stay away from any light or dark brown cloth/capes like on the majority of the earlier Druchii in the Warband and went with much more gold and jet black. I like to think that the fleshy toned clothing is more luxurious and reserved for higher ranking members within the Rising Sun, while the lowly brethren and cultists have black leather on their person, putting more emphasis on their golden light armor. The only exception is any models that have fur pelt or coats.

That’s it for now, I’m going to do the last four Dark Elves soon. More to come!

Such speed! Way to power along, and the results are solid and fit right in with the theme.

Props too on these nostalgic pieces, I enjoyed your commentary on painting Darkblade as well. I was trying to think about similar experiences I've had in the hobby, though just now it seems so obvious:

A few years back I made a Daemons of Tzeentch army in the twilight of WHFB, using loads of Chaos Renegades and ancient metal horrors, flamers and screamers. The army was terrible (a magic-based army with a crap magic lore in an edition with a pretty skewed magic phase) but it was a labor of love. I ran them through AOS for a bit, however ironically quit that game right as their armybook came out (and they got good again, I hear). Did some 40k with them last summer and frankly I think it's time to finish the round-basing and get them back on the table. Any army that took a year and half to build and another year and a half to paint deserves to see some play!

Aside: Do you game with these lads? AOS? Or more a hobby project / labor of love?

@monkeytroll: thank you! The old Relams Of Chaos books had a lasting effect on me and this hobby, as well as my traditional art... such an evocative and immersive pair of tomes.

@Meer_Cat: thank you so much, it means a lot to hear that! I’m having a lot of fun with the color scheme and it’s funny you mention the faces because for some weird reason I’ve really been enjoying painting them, especially on these old marauder/Citadel sculpts!

@Boss Salvage: Thanks! I feel like I’m terms of my artwork and hobbies I just have these big ups and downs. I’m either working like crazy on a drawing or model... or I’m not doing anything for months! This project has been keeping me focused for a while now and I’m absolutely loving it.

That’s also so awesome that you have (in my opinion) the best version of a Tzeentch army. The older Horrors form that era were.. well, actually horrifying lol the Blue horrors crawling out of the mouths of the pinks and their overall insane and Lovecraftian look was so amazing. It’s a shame the newer plastics are focusing on the “bird” theme. In terms of the collection as a whole, I agree in that having a collection/army you’re proud of rather than just “good” on the table is far more gratifying and fun, even if you don’t win much.

As for the rules that’s a good question. I don’t get to play very often so this does sit more into the labor of love category more than pure gaming... however, that being said I do love to play when I can (as a matter of fact I played my first game of a Mordheim campaign with these guys not too long ago!) but, I’m the kind of person that is “models/theme first - rules last” I build and paint the models based on looks and “rule of cool” rather than game rules... also, I don’t really mind what rules I use to play as long as I get to roll some dice lol. Often I GM Games of Fantasy Battle - mixing and matching rules form WHFBRP 2nd edition, 8th edition fantasy and the two Realms Of Chaos tomes/army books. It’s sort of a conglomeration of things that make the game as immersive and story driven as possible. I also do play Age of Sigmar occasionally, particularly Path to Glory with a friend, however we base our game in the fantasy OLD WORLD - not the actual AoS setting. Also, we don’t use points... just throw them on the table based on homebrew scenarios (though admittedly I don’t use the points system much in normal fantasy battle either much, instead opting for the method we use with AoS or some kind of RPG-esque Warband/character generation).

P.S. I would love to see any pictures of your Tzeentchian collection if you’ve taken any!!

So here’s another update: The last of the Druchii Slaanesh Cultists are complete!

Out of all of the Sculpts I have to say that I think this one is my favorite:

The Mighty Warp Champion Of Slaanesh.

A powerful lordling within the Cult of The Rising Sun, the Warp Champion Deshar Vaereth is a cruel and twisted rising power within the Cult. His small horde of skirmishers, scouts, torturers and raiders ceaselessly work to plunder Brettonian and Empire villages so that the Rising Sun and the Radiant Child May have a never ending supply of flesh to torment at their leisure. The Reavers Of Vaereth also work as scouts ahead of The Rising Sun’s battle lines, sowing terror, dismay and destruction within the enemy line and encampments at random - they will work to ensure that the enemy is demoralized beyond reason the night’s before a battle... often capturing and torturing helpless soldiers, lining their mutilated corpses on stakes around the camps perimeters or flaying their skin and lining the hides of their victims on the camp ground, expertly cutting their flesh into the Intricate and decadent symbols of the Dark Prince.

Here is a shot of The Reavers Of Vaereth...

That’s it for now, I have some more models on the hobby desk that have been hearing the siren call of Slaanesh for far too long... next up are some more sadistic infantry to bolster the Rising Sun’s ranks!

More to come!

Alright, so this will be a pretty pic heavy update:

With this post I want to show off a portion of my collection that means a lot to me and that I’m going to be putting a lot of effort into. It is, as with my Malus Darkblade model, not necessarily directly involved with The Cult of The Rising Sun, but still fitting with the theme of otherworldly Chaos, insanity and, of course, hyper violent, hedonistic and sadistic Elven humanoids!

I’m a huge fan of Michael Moorcock’s Elric Of Melniboné, and this section of my collection marks the beginning of my tribute to this epic.

Here are the first of my Melnibonean soldiery!

Melnibonean Archer

Melnibonean Spearman

Melnibonean Cavalryman

The first section of the Warband.

Now, this will only be a very small Melniboné Warband for mordheim and WHFRP, but this won’t just end there!

When I began painting the models I thought very hard about the scheme. I wanted them to be relatively accurate to the novel, while still my own - so opted to do Gold on their armor for a couple major reasons. First, because I thought that I may possibly write a scenario based around Melniboné and thought it be a good idea to keep them relatively coherent with the Rising Sun (Particulary the marauder/Citadel Dark Elves) so that I could bolster them into a modest Melniboné army. However, when painting it I chose to begin with a copper base and work up gradually to the gold so that they appeared a bit darker. Second, in the book many of the Melnibonean soldiers are described as having Yellow armor and thought it fitting. Also, since the towers and buildings of Melniboné are extremely colorful - with many soft shades of red, green, pinks, blues, ect.. I decided that I wanted to paint the leather underneath their armor as those various shades to make each and every Melnibonean in this Warband unique and classicly Chaotic! The Next few Melnibonean Soldiers I plan on painting will have some bright greens, pinks and purples (which is a nice departure form The Rising Sun’s usual warm reds and browns). I believe this should add some more varied and characterfulness to these minis if I ever have them displayed next to their Druchii cousins. I also opted for traditional square bases for this as well- to get some of the nostalgic Warhammer Fantasy vibe that I’m missing dearly and to have them easily distinguishable as a different part of the collection...

.. so that’ll be it for the time being... expect to see some more Melnibonean infantryman as well as Elric Of Melniboné himself!

... more to come!

@Monkeytroll: Thank you. As for Elric himself...

... indeed he shall!

So another update on the Warband Of Imyrrian Warriors...

I’ve completed their second Melnibonéan Spearman.

Painting this model in particular really makes me appreciate the entire Melnibonéan infantry rage by Citadel. I know that these designs would later be repurposed into the High Elves range, but looking at them from a modern perspective these miniatures really have an awesome blend of High Elven, Druchii, early Dark Eldar and rogue trader era Eldar aesthetics that just... works very well. These models almost have a place in any of those armies as well and will probably see myself using them as these various races if the scenario demands. I particularly love the Demon-faced helmet on this guy as it really harkens to some of those early Eldar pirate sculpts and later Dark Eldar Jes Goodwin conceptual sketches.

I’m not entirely sure what’s going to be next on my painting table, but I’m thinking it will be either some more Melnibonéan Infantrymen... or maybe Elric himself!... more to come!

Ok so this will be another picture heavy update:

It’s been a little while since I posted, but I haven’t been idle! I’ve recently added some more rank and file Druchii to The Cult of The Rising Sun...

I wanted to try something very different with these models when I painted them... I’m also not particularly a big fan of these newer plastic swordsmen, preferring the Storm of Chaos era spearmen and crossbowmen I grew up with... but I was given a good deal on the box set from my FLGS.

So here we have them... “The Cult of The False Dawn”.

The Cult of The False Dawn is a small splinter Coven of The Rising Sun. They were created by various Warbands of Dark Elves in the wake of the Radiant One’s vast incursions into the Old World, seeking to emulate the cult and also aid their invasions when possible for riches and favor of Laeresh and the Holy One itself. The False Dawn is a strange dark mirror of the Rising Sun, preferring the use of Dark Metal Armor with Blue and pinks as accent colors. Their darkened tones fit their nature as the Cults members are known for their cold and methodical nature, often fighting without a sound in deadly night raids before dawn - often with a spearhead assault with the Sixth Circle and before the Mighty Radiant One’s own Rising Sun... though their cult is small their members are extremely deadly and only accept the most ruthless Druchii Swordsmen and Mighty Chaos Warriors from the North in the service of the Dark Prince.

I mainly began this unit as a nice refreshing step away from all the warm reds and golds that I’ve been doing. I was also kind of itching for a slightly traditionally Slaaneshi scheme with some Pink, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t too gnarish or overwhelming... these guys were mainly inspired by some of the older Relms of Chaos Slaaneshi Warbands. Also, as I have alluded to in their Cult’s Lore I shall be working on a rather large unit of Slaaneshi Chaos Warriors to go along with them... I think I’ll be keeping the Silver armor theme, but with more of a purple/reddish tinge to it and possibly make the shields vary from mixed shades of blue to purple and red to pink... but we’ll see.

In other parts of my hobby desk we have some more Melnibonéan Warriors fresh from Imrryr!

These Models were awesome to paint and it was very fun experimenting with the random Imrryran colors...

Within the Warband this Character in particular will be their Leader:

“Lord Vasterath Ryss, Serpent and Slayer Of Slaanesh and Khaine.”

As always I can’t get enough of the Snarling Demonfaced Helms, and really ended up loving the look of the bright pink with the Golden Elven plate..

In bigger battles where this Imrryran Warband will join the Rising Sun, he will act as a Druchii Minor Chaos Lord, leading with his Warband on one of the armies flanks...

This Melnibonéan Warrior with the axe will serve as his left hand and operate during battle as his Chosen Retinue Leader...

“The Demon Harlequin”

This guy was a treat, I loved the colors and am already planning on a Slaaneshi Harlequin Battle standard Bearer for the Cult in these shades.

Here are also some WIP photos of both variants of Elric and the rest of the Eternal Champion Collection (with the exception of Hawkmoon.. he’s currently in a tub of Superclean lol).

Both versions of Elric will probably see play as either Dreadlords or Chaos Lords, while the rest of the Eternal Champion minis will serve as various characters, NPC’s, enemies, ect.. for a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay campaign I will be running for some very good friends this summer...

Here’s some quick snaps of more models I’ve done for that:

The brave Player Characters!

They may unfortunately be running into a mystery with the Rising Sun’s dangerous warriors...

Here are some various enemies/allies, ect...

And last, but not least.. I took some pictures of an awesome narrative siege battle that some friends and I played over the weekend at our FLGS!

An inexhaustible Force of Lizardmen assault a fortress defended by Dreadlord Vasterath Ryss, his retinue and a Warband Of Dark Elf Shades after they stole an ancient Lustrian artifact... using this artifact, Vasterath rose the spirits of the dead within the old keep, along with the aid of a massive Liche! They must hold the fortress long enough for the Rising sun’s reinforcements to come and route their cold-blooded assailants!

The Cult of The Rising Sun’s ragtag defenders and their Necromantic allies Held the Fort!.... for now.

So that’s it for now... as usual I’m not too sure what’s next on the painting table, but I know I don’t have many Imrryran Warriors left so maybe they will be next.

More to come!

Good job with the False Dawners, think you nailed the colour scheme, definitely Slaaneshi without being garish. The shields really pull it together.

Man, you have been crushing through these Oldhammer minis, well done

I'd be lying if I said I'm familiar with your ancient Melnibonéan elves. I can remember passing by them in old catalogues and maybe even old blister racks when I first started, and it is cool to see the basis of later designs in their helms or shared elements with the Chaos bois from that time that I'm more intimate with. And as ever sweet to see your Cult scheme pulled across so many different models, pulling them together. (Related to that, bit thrown by the different bases? You clearly have different gaming purposes in mind for each batch, but personally I would have gone all circles for consistency and to showcase the sculpts best, tho whatev.)

Thanks for continuing to share your journey through the catacombs of Naggaroth and beyond!

@monkeytroll: thank you, I was a bit on the fence about the False Dawn Swordsmen for a while afterwords... but now it’s growing on me some more!

@Boss Salvage: yeah, the Eternal Champion model range came about in I think the mid eighties? I can be wrong. Either way the Melnibonéan infantry range came out with Pan Tangian infantry shortly after the initial Moorcock Eternal Champion box set, which I believe was really only made for collectors and Roleplaying since I believe Citadel was still sculpting models intended for D&D (which I know novels like Elric Of Melniboné has a big influence on) this was all far before my time so I can only go off of what I’ve researched about it. On the bases; I’m completely agree with you on the point of conformity, although since I doubt I’ll be using the entire force all at once. Also, while I do (very rarely) use the AoS rules, I’m almost always playing Fantasy Battles 8th with my group so I don’t mind the squares mixed with circles... plus the nostalgia is nice for me lmao. But thank you, I’m glad you’ve been sticking along during this hobby adventure!

So it’s been a little while since I last posted. Boring life things get in the way as usual and another project, which I’ll post relatively soon, have been taking up some of my precious hobby time. I haven’t been idle on the Rising Sun though! So this will be anothe relatively picture heavy post...

To kick this off I have finally finished the Slaaneshi Melnibonéan Warband!

Ready for Mordheim and WHFRP!

Speaking of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay I’ve also finished all of the NPC’s for the adventure against the Rising Sun’s conspiracies... the rest of the Eternal Champion Models were finished and added to this adventure.

Here are some Melnibonéan Spearmen I pained to be either High or Wood Elves during the RP..

We also have my personal Favorite incarnation of the Eternal Champion... the Last, mutilated Vadhagh, The Prince in the Scarlet Robe, Corum Jhaelen Irsei.

Some more NPC allies and enemies...

Now for the last of the Cult of The False Dawn!

The swarming horde of Slaaneshi Chaos Warriors...

Now when I was painting these Warriors I wanted to try and atcheive two major things: make sure they “went with” the Druchii False Dawn Swordsmen and make sure they looked dark, but colorful!

I’m not so sure how well I pulled it off, but I guess we’ll see. I think this will be the last of the “cold” models and form here on out I’ll be working once again on the much warmer and coherent Cult of The Rising Sun...

That’s all for today, next up will FINALLY be my Possessed Slaaneshi Druchii unit and possibly more mounted Daemonettes with a Daemonic Dreadlord!

More to come!
