Thank you Warboss_Waaazag, gobert, Max Moray, CommissarKhaine and youwashock.

So first couple of layers of paint and the first varnish so it has some enduring strength when it gets hit with errant dice and to keep the rust powder on. Going to add some more grime and then a matt varnish.

PS: youwashock, watch out for rats as I have painted up those two Ratskins.

Thank you, below are some photos to help you identify the perpetrators.

Thanks Flapjack.

So finished two more Ratskins with Muskets to make my gang a little more thematic. Light was a little poor when I took these shots.

Clasic ratskins were my favorite gang. Too bad I haven't got a chance to get my hands on some. The prices these go for lately, wow.

You really did them justice with the paintjob. Great work Captain!

Love what you have done with the cassettes, have you ever posted up a pic of your gaming table? Would like to see all of your terrain with some of those fantastic rat skins running around on it.

Thanks, I will have to delay a little on the photo of the gaming table, as my City Fight Terrain table ended up being moved to the residences of three other players, some has been lost, some has been damaged, some of the better parts they want to keep for games at their places. Although as soon as we have a Necro game I will take some shots beforehand...and I am making more terrain.

Here is an experiment with some scatter terrain, a mound of rubble on broken tile for weight (as there is nothing as frustrating as light scatter terrain shifting when some models are placed on it.

Remember sprue rubble, well I have used it here...with some real small stones, sand and a few pieces of plastic to add detail.

Top down with some models.

Side view, you can see it is high enough for cover...which in Necromunda is line of sight...although for a regular 40K game it is large enough to place a squad on for cover.

Gah! They're everywhere!

Sprue rubble rocks. Nice bit of scatter. The vermin look good, too. I have had multiple campaigns with Ratskin gangs that quickly turned into real problems.

All of these are awesome! I would've never thought to use the cassette, it looks very zone mortals or imperial industrial esq. I recently purchase a handmade city fight "type " board from an Ebay store ( I'll have to check which one) but I say type because it doesn't quite fit the criteria(but works) cant quite fit models between floors and building count per sq. Ft is a little less than recommended but it is cheap well crafted, painted and very cool looking, quite impressive! Capt- Mrs. Lynch mob cant believe half our house is covered in 40k models and an airbrushing station. I'm quite the hobbyist on my days off from firefighting lol. But shes just happy I'm not a drunken marine anymore- thank god for 40k!

Nice work CB. Amazing what can be done with a pile of junk and a lot of talent, particularly liking the cassette terrain. Ratskins look cool too

Thanks youwashock, LynchMOBFTE and Maharg.

I made another scatter piece.

So beside the Necromunda terrain I am building, this log is also about my old and damaged City Fight terrain. Here is the first building repatriated from my old City Fight table. It was returned first from one of my buddies storage rooms as it fell off a shelf and the tile base shattered.

Now separated into two sections and mounted on a chip board base that lets me use tabs to lock it together. This was one of the cardboard and tape jobs from the tutorial in White Dwarf. I think is needs a much lighter drybrush of white to represent dust.

What do people think?

I agree it could use some lighter areas, but on the whole it looks ready for new action.

You even make slag piles look good .

Ratskins are very well done and the building made from the cassette is great as well.

I think I made some buildings like that back in the day. The tape was always a to keep down, but I never want as far as to use textured paint. I think a light dry brush would help, it might add a bit of variation too

Thank you youwashock, Theophony and gobert.

Good suggestions so I am back to do more drybrushing. In the meantime, some more scatter finished.

A small one for some Gangers to hide behind and shoot from cover.

A larger one, trying out more bits (including a tank tread as one this size could be used for a regular 40K fight and have enough space to encompas a large squad)

One more complete with barbed wire.

More to come as I am photographing the Ventilator now.

Very nice scatter terrain.
I really need to get off my lazy behind and build some terrain, still using cardboard box buildings and books...

Nice use of random bits on the scatter terrain. Is that an old battery on the right of the last one?

Thank you and good luck Bschwi1, nothing like a table with painted terrain to add to the experience.

gobert, thanks for the reply. No it is part of a Leman Russ side sponson.

Thanks CommissarKhaine.

OK the first dry brush on the ruined buildings.

I think I will do even more and then add some smoke stain effects above the windows.

Thanks youwashock,

Inspiration for that goes to Sean Patten, a master terrain builder from stuff lying around the house if there ever was one.

Started on some more scatter terrain, I have two sets of the 3rd edition starter box that need to be remounted on some chip board.

Rough first draft.

Also painted up a pair of old metal Cawdor gangers.

Lovely classic models - both the terrain and the cawdor . I used those ruins to mount up WHFB monsters for whom the base was too low (the old DE Manticore coms to mind...)

Thanks CommissarKhaine,

While I never purchased the starter box in that edition, either through trades or exchanges with my gaming group I have several, so here are two of them getting some love after years and years of sitting as primed plastic.

My main goal as I glued on the rubble was making certain the Chip Board base stays completely flat.

So no showers of glue to secure them down...epoxy for the larger pieces.

Love that old terrain. Gangers look good, too. If they get wiped out you could change the name to Red Dead Redemption.

Thank you youwashock,

Now the two pieces with sand added, again small amounts at a time to use a small amount of glue and keep the Chip Bard flat.

Then the paint.

Side by side.

Now do I leave them as is on one layer of Chip Board, or do I add another two layers like some of my larger buildings?

CB

Those look great. Would leaving the extra layers off throw the levels out of whack by much? The extra strength can't hurt, though.
