My knowledge has a huge gap in it, I know little about 2nd to 6th editions, but when was the last time Guard could use hand flamers?

2nd edition, off the top of my head.

Since 3rd, when they've been available they've tended to be BA, =][= or SoB weapons.

Point is, it's 2020. If I want troops in ushankas and winter greatcoats, there are plenty of options.

Anvil will sell me a custom resin squad of 10 for an amount similar to the base squad -£30- with tons of cheap extra options. Three heavy weapons teams for £30. Quality is exceptional.

Warlord Games will sell you 40 plastic Soviets in winter gear for £33, and heavy weapons teams in metal from £8. Command and special weapons too - sniper rifles, flamethrowers...

Plenty of 3rd parties will sell you not-plasma and not-melta weapons, missile launchers etc...

If you must have actual GW weapons, plenty of places sell spares.

quick shoutout to Yarrick being over £40 in JPY. Great job GW, IDK who you think will drop the cash on it, but they'd have to be even stupider than whoever is doing your exchange rates.

Ironically the sergeant is easier to deal with. You can cut that gun off and replace with different pistol without much effort. The hand flamer of generic 'Commander' (formerly Lieutenant) is moulded into the coat.

I just noticed as well that they changed the banner on the website front page. Yesterday it had a wider shot of the Valhallans with some tanks as well, those tanks had Valhallan tankers in the hatches. This morning they've changed it to a closer shot of just what's available.

All Guard miniatures are old Guard miniatures by this stage (except the Command Squads).

I do agree.

I still think metal guard infantry is the best thing GW
has to offer as far as IG troops are concerned.

Right now the best looking guard troops are "traitor guard". That's fething hilarious.

The best looking IG were from FW. Elysians and Krieg were(are) so much ahead of the stuff GW puts out. Even now, with all those new commissar models that still look crayola.

If FW stuff is included, Elysians and Krieg were(are) the best we got for IG troops from GW (FW).

This is a bad idea.

Valhallans are a major investment, GW need to give a much larger window or adequate forewarning so those who might be interested have time to buy in.

Its one thing to 'unlock from the vaults' a few character miniatures, but a horde army is different.

Someone obviously forgot that the Valhallan tank riders weren't going to be in the M2O selection - bit of an oops, but it might save a few questions to Customer Services or store staff about where they are.

The vehicles on display were also Warhammer World relics, with paint missing and both types no longer in production to boot.

I was going to pick up 10 + a few special weapons for star breach, then I was reminded of the prices...
$25 for a small but cool figure in a fur hat, I Just can't do it.

well they can and last chance you can get them new so they will sell anyway and every sale is virtually pure profit.

Instead of re-releasing their old metal miniatures, I wish they'd give Valhallans less awful rules. At least with "Greater Good" you can play them as a homebrew regiment now.

But you know who I might have forked out the cash for? Besides the Vostroyians that is? The original metal Cadians. It might just be me but I think they aged far better than the current plastics. They’re certainly more detailed for starters...no bobble helmets and 2 by 4 rifles...

The lascannon crew and missile launcher loader were my particular favourites from the 2nd Ed Guard metal range.
