Runewars elves?

Took a look. I actually prefer them to GW woodies, particularly the 3rd skinnies and the 6th ed ones rime-everywhere ones. I found the 5th Ed simple sculpt woodies to have stood up over time. Trouble is finding enough to matter would be a pain. So WE were one army I never added to my collection.

Hmm.

Do they have a melee infantry unit?

They have these. Could work great as Wardancers (or Wildwood Rangers, depending on edition):
Spoiler:

I vastly prefer the 3rd-6th WE minis, which I already have a big army.

But these Runewars minis were so cheap that jumped on the occasion to have a new fun little project.

Thank you for the reply.

I actually dont mind the Rangers models, but would use these for continuency of theme. Also the later Wardancers looked alright and Wardancers should have a slightly different aesthetic anyway, while Rangers should fit in with the style of the rest of the elves.

Ok, I am least sold enough to do a feasibility on buying a Wood Elf army. How were they cheap? Is there a specific place with a firesale? and any way to get in at this stage?

I never saw those elves when they added them to the range. They are really nice. Is Runewars similar scaled to WHFB minis?

I'm always interested in 3rd party options to mix things up.

Unfortunately, I think the offer isn't available outside Spain. The store with the offer (https://outlet-pc.es/) doesn't seem to ship internationally. Sale is more or less 70% discount. Very worth it for that price.

Edit: but I heard that Runewars minis pop-up from time to time at super low prices in various places since the game died almost before starting.

Runewars is suppose to be 28mm, so should scale well. Found this pic:
Spoiler:

Aesthetic is very different so not sure I'd mix them with my current army, but I want to paint them very differently so these will be my 2nd WE army.

Recently got my hands on a few awesome deals making up an Empire army. It will be a week or 2 before I can work on them. ~ 1800 points are already painted but about 2500 is still unpainted or in the box. Have a few kit-bashes and custom jobs along side them (and a ton of rifle barrels to drill out lol)

Lucky. I'd adore the chance to score some Empire kits on the cheap right now. I've wanted to do Morgan Bernhart's Grudgebringers for a while now...

Conceptualizing a little on names, fluff and heraldy for a Bretonnian army. It will most likely never come to anything practical but you know, its funny thinking about it.

Updated my Dwarfs last month. This month I am starting Beastmen. Since December is always busy I am only planning a few units and a character or two. I've finished a unit of Ungor Raiders and a Wargor. Currently I have a big block of Gor about 80% finished. I'd like to have 3K finished by the end of January so I think it's a good start.

Just stumbled on this thread so thought I’d share my 4th Ed High Elves. They were the first Minis I ever owned after buying the elf half of the Boxset off a friend at school. I recently finished these guys;

Putting the complete army as so;

For 2021 I’m aiming for them to be the first fully finished Army I have, though the pain of the white and call of new minis might make that challenging! Here’s the sum total of what I have left;

Maybe then I’ll get around to some of my other WHFB stuff that’s sat idle for the best part of 20 years!

Glad to have you here. My starting with High Elves in 5th makes that a wonderful hit of nostalgia.

I had the Helms that came after those. I think I like those more and you did a wonderful job on them.

That’s a scary beast there. The snow bases are great, what did you use for the glistening snow? It’s really effective, and looks even better for being on square bases! Have GW given a launch date for Old World yet?

No launch date as yet. GW mostly announced "The Old World" because it was the same day Mantic released 3rd Edition Kings of War and they wanted a little revenge for what happened in 2015. As when GW launched AoS Mantic made a push to make army lists for all Warhammer Fantasy armies.
